*Official 2018 Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles* - Tough way to go out. Magic finally gone. (1 Viewer)

they say his blocking pretty top notch for a TE. so happy to help protect the QBs
Heard his blocking was good but he didn't do much of it as he was a huge pass catching tight end. Seems a little bit like ertz.  Will be fun to have both of them.

Let's draft more Dakota kids!

Ertz is signed long-term and Trey Burton didn't see the field much last year even though he became a hot commodity on the FA market. Seems a little weird to now trade up for a 2nd TE.

Don't you still have Smallwood and Pumphrey?
Smallwood seems to have lost traction but the thing going for him is he has a back up from Duce Staley there. Pumphrey looked like he didn't even belong on the field but still hope. He won't be an every down guy though. More like a Sproles

They drafted Ertz when Brent Celek was the same age Ertz is now.

Jackson to packers wow. That's a massive steal there. Hoped we moved up for him.

Edt:   they got Alexander, Jackson, and a saints 1st rounder out of the top 45 picks. That's insane.
For a player NO drafted that many see as a project at Pass rusher.

Wonder how we will work both in.  Our tight end situation is amazing.

Anyone know what we gave up?
I love this pick Goedert has had comparisons dropped from Ertz to another Ground. I see Doug working them like BB and NE did when they had Hernandez and Gronk honestly. Goedert is a fairly good blocker too

i kind of agree, but the Eagles' front office has earned the right to have some faith in them. No doubt the kid is talented, and adding additional blocking and possible option in the passing game stays true to the Eagles game-planning

Celek saw the field a lot, no reason to think a second TE won’t be a factor.

Goedert from what I read prior to the draft has great YAC ability. SDST use to design every kind of screen you could think of for him which is kind of unheard of for a TE.

Only team I didn't want to take him. Hopefully the character concerns are legit.  Our div has some incredibly talented rbs now.

I'm good with taking our stud Rb at pick 32 in next yrs draft ;)
I trust the franchise that handled Albert Haynesworth, Fred Davis and Robert Griffin to make sure that Guice doesn't have any issues interfere with his play on the field...

Wow. did this guy pull a Trump on someone? Some sort of weird Sex tape? Did he steal crab legs?

I agree that it doesn't really seem to be a big need, though celek took 41% of snaps and now he is gone also, so someone needs to be there and who knows if brown can do it.

It looks like the eagles were on the higher side of running 12 personnel last year, though, so maybe they really want to do more.

Ya from scouting reports it sounds like his ceiling is very high but he might start slow due to no competition in college.  Sounds like a Wentz scouting report.  Actually wonder if/how much input Carson had on this and if he pushed Howie for him.

Well this seems like why the Eagles didn't take him. This had to be a smoke screen after this of them wanting him

From a league source on Guice: "He got into an altercation at a meeting with the Eagles. He had several meetings where he came across lazy only wants to play video games. We caught a direct dishonesty from him in our meeting."

Aren't NDST and SDST big rivals? Wentz played against him I think when at NDST.

Have I ever saw how much I hate the NE Patriots? One of the other reasons is they keep taking my Florida guys. They just took CB Duke Dawson who some also believed could've been an Eagles pick for the Slot CB position.

He looked like a monster in the highlights
Watch his one highlight reel from the NFL Network stuff on him where they break it down. Defenders looked like they were trying to tackle Gronk. We might have the monster TE duo that NE was gonna have till Hernandez decided the thug life was better for him.

Someone is a happy QB with a slight dig...

@cj_wentz

A fellow Missouri Valley Alum hailing from the lesser Dakota .... @goedert33 welcome to the squad bro! Big things comin. We gotta represent the FCS, MVFC, and the Dakotas well my man. Let’s go!

I think Doug or Howie referenced that in the press conference - they said Carson knew him, same agent as well, and was pushing for him.

Wow Orlando Brown JR was just drafted by the Ravens who his dad played for. Guy who introduced him also was on that offensive line with his dad. Pretty cool moment.

Same conference rival schools. Not sure if they played at the same time with the age difference.
Reuben Frank's article for CSN said the two are friends. They also share the same agent apparently so I'm sure he got a chance to talk to him in person probably.

I was listening to 97.5 today, Brian Westbrook was on and said he got into an argument with howie and Duce
I love that our GM and Assistant HC are weeding out the fools during the evaluation process. Not difficult to see where this franchise has gone so wrong in the past and why it’s so good now.

I have to think Deuce can hold his own. Can't picture Howie in any kind of a physical confrontation, and Deuce has himself a heck of a belly these days, but i think Deuce would put the kid in his place

It's weird though because they had the opportunity to do this last year with Burton, who most of the rest of the league seems to think is starter material, and didn't bother.

Deuce seems like a sneaky guy to have with ya in a bar fight. Not a guy you'd think could hang in fisticuffs but comes out surprising.

Not sure if they tried to or wanted to do more. Maybe it was game situations or whatever it was. Really not sure why they didn't do more. Its not like Burton was a suspect blocker or not a great receiving target.

got to love the #### block move.......awesome
My co worker is around my age and I was about to leave work and watching on my phone. I decided to stick around considering how big an Eagles fan she is. When The Eagles traded up in front of Dallas I had a feeling they were taking Goedert. Then the whole Akers thing, Howie, Doug and Jeff laughing it up as Akers went on and on and then the icing on the Cake taking a TE named Dallas and taking away a potential target for Dal. Also Daddy Goedert needs to change team Allegiance and an entire family is about to go from Dallas fans to Eagles fans in one fellow swoop.

What is wrong with Hurst and okornkwo?

First and second round graded guys falling like crazy

Eagles actually have 2 picks coming up

No rbs I would touch now
