*Official 2018 Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles* - Tough way to go out. Magic finally gone. (1 Viewer)

What is wrong with Hurst and okornkwo?

First and second round graded guys falling like crazy

Eagles actually have 2 picks coming up

No rbs I would touch now
I assume you've heard about Hurst's heart condition - heard he's off 16-18 boards although at least 2 teams have supposedly cleared him.

Day 3 picks are such a crapshoot in any case that I'd be fine with the Eagles taking a shot on him. Not that it's a need but you can never have too many studs in your front seven.

Ian Rappoport said last night only 2 teams had him off their board but teams were still concerned about the risk taking him

Sweat is a good pick.  That guy is a gamer and I like Maddox too.  Solid 4th round picks
it's a solis pick however didn't know about this knee concern. No wonder the dude dropped. Per Walter Football.

4/25/18: Sweat was solid in 2017 with some good performances and some quiet games. He had 56 tackles with 12.5 tackles for a loss, 5.5 sacks and three passes batted on the year. One positive for Sweat was staying on the field and avoiding injury. Sweat decided to skip his senior year to enter the 2018 NFL Draft. He had a good combine workout with an excellent time in the 40-yard dash.

9/1/17: Sweat has a lot of talent and was starting to flash as a sophomore in 2016. He had seven sacks, 11.5 tackles for a loss, 41 tackles and one forced fumble on the year. Sources say that Sweat has a first-round skill set and could explode as a junior.

Sweat comes with major durability concerns, however. He still has instability in a few locations in his knee from an injury he suffered early in his senior year of high school. Sources say Florida State has tried a variety of methods to rehab the knee, which hasn't responded. Because he could have his NFL career limited to one contract, sources say they hear that Sweat is going to skip his senior year and enter the 2018 NFL Draft. The knee injury could cause him to slide even though he has Thursday-night edge-rushing talent.

Good fit here then.  We won't need him to be an every down DE, this DL rotates so much, he should have a great chance of staying healthy. (unless things like constant practice make it swell up, like Ajayi).  Still, a great value in the 4th.

Yeah no need for every down but Knee is a still a concern. I liked him in College. People think just because I like Florida I hate a lot of other teams but when I see talent I show appreciation. Heck I was on the get Dalvin Cook bandwagon for 2 yrs. I was also a big Jalen Ramsey and years ago Campbell and and Lawerence Timmons.

kid is good in my book:

Avonte Maddox: "Im gone be a ref just to mess the Cowboys season up."- back in 2015. A+ pick already, plus Dreadlocks. twitter.com

Howie Roseman on Doug Pederson Hounding him for Darren Sproles: "I think I got the message when Coach would come by my office, I don't know, maybe once a day or twice a day, and say, ‘What's going on with Darren? When are we getting Sproles back?’ And I said, ‘I got the message"

outsider here - since they didn't draft an RB is Ajayi a guy that will get 20 carries a game or will it be like last year where he is at about 15?

Sproles just got re-signed!  Makes more sense why we passed on Rb now.
Or an RB we really wanted was drafted before we could take them. They signed ND RB Josh Adams in FA as a priority FA too. I think that says a lot more of what they think of Smallwood and Pumphrey honestly

Probably no different then last year. Only difference is SProles or Clement takes Blount's carries.

I swear these guys we sign right after the draft are getting more important every year.  There are serious players available  that fall through the draft more than ever and it's a great way to fill some holes in the roster

I think we're going to see a lot more Ajayi this year.  I see very little chance he is back with us in '19 so I don't think we hold back with him at all.  That being said, there could be random games where he has 10 carries and other guys are seeing lots as well, but I'd expect him to average a bit more than last year and be closer to 18/game.

Going to keep 4 RB’s again IMO. I can see Josh Adams making the team.
Ya definitely 4.... feel like there's even a shot for 5!  (unlikely though).

Clement HAS to be a lock, and Jay and Darren obviously are locks.  Crazy that only one of Adams/Pump/Small makes the roster but I agree with you, I think it's going to be Adams.

Good work, Doug!

The thing with the Eagles is we've always been one of the better teams in UDFA. Didn't one year Andy's team had like some ridiculous number of UDFAs make the team? It was like around 6-8 guys.

Am I in the minority for not jumping up and down for resigning Sproles? I get the things he can do but over the last few yrs he's been losing a lot of juice. Looked incredible slow in terms of his overall speed compared to what he was even 2 yrs ago plus he's coming off Knee surgery and a broken arm. Don't get me wrong he's a great guy and a good return specialist. I just think resigning at his age takes away playing time and oppurtunity maybe not as RB but someone else on the team. I mean I won't fuss over it too much since it's a one year deal.

Still a great weapon on third down and special teams.  I'm happy he's back

I’m not hype for Sproles and not against it (yet anyway) for a few reasons. I think having veteran leaders is important, Doug wanted him back, and we won the SB

The way I look at it is that Peters, Sproles, and Long are worth their weight in gold as leaders. If they can bring anything in the way of on the field productivity you must secure their return
