*Official 2018 Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles* - Tough way to go out. Magic finally gone. (1 Viewer)

Tell us more about your GM and how he maneuvered finances to improve your favorite team.
This is my shtick, get your own.

$50 mil with Z. Martin, Irving, and Lawrence impending FAs. And Dak needing an extension unless he continues to regress. With bums at WR and CB. Perhaps your focus should be on that and not the motive behind Brooks’ renegotiation.
Cowboysfan8 was just posting information to add to the discussion.

Halarious that you listed the Cowboys impending FA, and then in the very next sentence you suggested he not focus on your team. That’s the epitome of the pot calling the kettle black.

According to spotrac they'll have 51 million free.

And the Eagles apparently negative 47 million, lol.  Jesus.
Overthecap is showing the Eagles with negative 31M.

Foles saves 18.8M (1.8M dead)

Kendricks saves 7M (1.6M dead)

Maragos saves 2M (250k dead)

Would pretty much get you to the cap.

Definitely.  The commercials with either/both Mannings are always great.

FTR, I always felt the same about Romo.  Seems like a great guy. I wish he was still your QB.
You know when I knew Romo was a choker? At the time I tried to lie to myself, but it was very early in his career when he was trying out for the U.S. Open in golf.  He would play great and always had a chance to make it on Sunday but inevitably he would fail.

I think he was just bad under pressure and he was always aware of how big the moment was and it got to him.

FTR- I’d still take Romo over Eli everyday (,even on Sunday) with the Giants defense.

"Philadelphiaaaa!! If you love the Eagles let me get a hell yeah! If you love the Philadelphia Eagles, let me get a hell yeah! I'm going to take a second to talk to you about underdogs. I know Lane and Chris just talked about this but I don't think it's been beaten home enough.

"Howie Roseman, a few years ago, relinquished all control pretty much in this organization. He was put in the side of the building where I didn't see him for over a year. Two years ago, when they made a decision, he came out of there a different man. He came out of there with a purpose and a drive to make this possible. And I saw a different Howie Roseman. An underdog!

"Doug Pederson. When Doug Pederson was hired, he was rated as the worst coaching hire by a lot of freaking analysts out there in the media. This past offseason, some clown named Mike Lombardi told him that he was the least qualified head coach in the NFL! Doug Pederson! The man who went for it on fourth down in the Super Bowl with a trick play! He wasn't playing just to be mediocre. He's playing for a Super Bowl. And it don't stop with him. It does not stop with him.

"Jason Peters was told he was too old. Didn't have it anymore. Before he got hurt, he was the best freaking tackle in the NFL. Big V was told he didn't have it. Stefen Wisnieski ain't good enough. Jason Kelce's too small. Lane Johnson can't lay off the juice. Brandon Brooks has anxiety.

"Carson Wentz didn't go to a Division I school. Nick Foles don't got it. Corey Clement's too slow. LeGarrette Blount ain't got it anymore. Jay Ajayi can't stay healthy. Torrey Smithcan't catch. Nelson Agholor can't catch. Zach Ertz can't block. Brent Celek's too old.

"Brandon Graham was drafted too high. Vinny Curry ain't got it. Beau Allen can't fit the scheme. Mychal Kendricks can't fit the scheme. Nigel Bradham can't catch. Jalen Mills can't cover. Patrick Robinson can't cover. It's the whole team!!!

"This entire organization is a bunch of driven men to accomplish something. We're all a bunch of underdogs and you know what underdogs is? It's a hungry dog. And Jeff Stoutland has had this in our building for five years. It's a quote in the O-line room that has stood on the wall for the last five years: Hungry dogs run faster. And that's this team! We wanted it more! All the players, all the coaches, front office. Jeffrey Lurie, everybody wanted it more. And that's why we're up here today. That's why we're the first team in Eagles history to hold that freaking trophy.

"You know who the biggest underdog is? It's y'all, Philadelphia. For 52 years, y'all have been waiting for this. You want to talk about underdog? You want to talk about a hungry dog? For the last 52 years, you have been starved of this championship. Everybody wonders why we're so mean. Everybody wonders why the Philadelphia Eagles don't have the nicest fans. If I don't eat breakfast, I'm f------ pissed off!

"No one wanted us! No one liked this team. No analyst liked this team to win the Super Bowl and nobody likes our fans. And you know what? I've just heard one of the best chants from this past day. And it's one of my favorite and it's new and I hope y'all learn it. Because I'm about to drop it right now. You know what I got to say? To all those people that doubted us, to all those people who counted us out and to everybody who said we couldn't get it's done. What my man Jay AJayi just said: 'F--- em!'

"(Singing) No one likes us, no one likes us, no one likes us, we don't care. We're from Philly, f------ Philly, no one likes us, we don't care. No one likes us, no one likes us, we don't care. We're from Philly, f------ Philly, no one likes us, we don't care. E-A-G-L-E-S, Eagles!"

Read that whole thing in Jason Kelce's voice.

Good read into the mind of Howie.

https://overthecap.com/2019-compensatory-draft-picks-update-5-8-2018

Howie light years ahead.

Even with all our cap issues that will spring up next year we have something like 19 draft picks in 2019.

In this years draft the trade with Cleveland to draft Wentz was paid in full.

Looking back that was one hell of draft for us to move up from #13 to #2.

Then in Wentz 2nd year he is on a MVP season to end up winning the SB.

Future is bright!!!

He can't possibly make the team can he??

Think this means Smallwood and Pump are goners for sure.  Ajayi, Clement, Sproles + Jones or the UDFA?  Sure is crowded.
If Jones can stop being butter fingers he could fit the Blount role. Maybe it's the way they had to get the cap space but signing him 2 yrs sure seems like they don't seem to trust Pump or Smallwood all that much

dont get the matt jones signing.  he stinks
Maybe after the Dallas move, Howie is just on a mission to make Washington regret letting him go? :P

But in seriousness, I think he'll be a body that will push Adams and one of them will make it.  Outside shot of both of them making it if we keep 5 and small/pump totally suck.

Min clearing a 3rd rounder for that 1 year of Case Keenum is a pretty sweet get, although I don't get how the Cousins signing doesn't cancel that out.

edit:  the Bradford signing, that's it.  2 QB's moving on.

Also funny that after all the Kirk Cousins drama, a comp 3rd is all they are getting for him.  They misplayed that so badly.

i'm watching Super Bowl 51 and it is 28-3 Atlanta over NE. i can not fathom how it must feel to be a Falcons fan

lol, never a good sign when a poster has 4-5 posts in a row, but F it. Getting over the Sixers, so i am back in on the Eagles. I heard about this WR from France that was on the Eagles radar. Heard a lot of good things about him, and it seems the Eagles signed him as an undrafted free agent. will be a fun guy to keep an eye on this summer:

We should all be ashamed for puting you in this position

haha I think djax has the record for 19 posts in a row so you're good for now.  But I get it, I feel bad doing 3-4... was just away for a few hours :P

I think it's a lock he's on the practice squad this year.  The hope with him is to see what he can do with a few years of training.  Still quite a longshot to ever play, but you never know.
Yeah, he's definitely a long-term project. I think this, and the Taylor Hart project, show the Eagles are still stung they didn't identify Alejandro Villanueva's potential the way the Steelers did.

We released the Okla ST CB Jordan something to sign one of our tryout guys. WR Tom Wilson. Went to my cousin's College East Stroudsbourg (My cousin graduated ESU like 6yrs ago but the HC is still there) and the kid went to Radnor which is one of the schools in my Central League. Wilson has return ability too. Huge long shot to make the team. Also my Co workers son who's Corey Udlin's assistant went to Radnor as well.

19? Seriously? I don't know if it was that many. And if it was it might've been the NBA thread last year if anything.

Go Green Raiders!

I was a Havertown guy. I went to school when Upper Darby had Simone Lawerence the RB who went to University of Minn as an LB. My buddy broke Haverford's Rushing record that was broken by a kid in 2014 while he coached RB's. I also saw Dan Connor play against my school for 2 yrs. My first two yrs of HS were his JR and SR yrs. I also saw my Co workers Son who is now one of the coaches for the Eagles play at his school. What year did you graduate is you don't mind?

We talked before - I'm originally from Southwest Philly, and graduated from West Catholic in 1986. I've been living in Ridley for the last 25 years. My oldest daughter graduated in '15 and my youngest in a couple of weeks. That means I'm old.

Totally forgot

Not gonna lie, I don't follow baseball as closely as Football or Basketball, and usually not until the NBA season is over, but just saw the standings and jeez the Phillies are killing expectations.
