I don't think there's any question JPP is a super talented and productive DE. Dumb mistake with the fireworks notwithstanding, from what I've heard he's an upstanding and nice dude, too. Wish he didn't go to the Giants 
I'm guessing the Giants are just moving on from the salary - so yea, maybe they are looking at Chubb? Seems odd, I still think it's foolish for them to not take a stud QB - if you get mired in mediocrity, you'll be always picking in the middle and never able to get Eli's replacement.

Wasn’t JPP caught on tape, picking up Prince Amukamara and dumping him in the ice tub a few years back? I feel kind of guilty, but my honest 1st thought was what the hell a 66 year-old paraplegic woman doing as a security guard at a pretty big event. Still makes Bennet pretty horrible person if all is true, but I can not fathom having a security guard that has the job of preventing people on the field, and hiring a 66 year old woman for that, let alone a paraplegic

Yea well now we know why Seattle took so little. They had to have an inkling this was coming.
Honestly, I get this guy wanted to be with his brother but he could have done like a dozen things better in that situation. It's a weird law that's making this a felony. Seems more like a civil case here to settle for damages but dems da breaks. It was a character risk taking on this guy and we're seeing why.
He'll miss at least 2 games possibly 4 depending on Goodells mood.
I didn't like the Bennett acquisition from the get go. We had the best locker room in the NFL. There was no reason to bring this guy in. He's always been trouble. I'm a huge fan of Howie's and I think he's the best GM in football right now, but this one didn't make sense.

think you are jumping the gun a bit here. i get not liking the guy for whatever reason, but there is a lot more to this story then the paragraph we have gotten so far. i heard a clip of the press conference from the sheriff down there, and it sounds all kinds of nuts. he mentioned Goodell's name like 4-5 times, and there would seem to be zero reason why he would be brought up. Talking about how he busted through multiple locked doors doesn't sound completely accurate either. Yeah, Michael is big, but do we really think he can bust through multiple locked doors? like how did he do that?

Yeah, I am not a fan of Bennett at all, and I'm betting that there is a tiny nugget of Truth in there somewhere and there was some sort of confrontation...but this thing reeks pretty bad.
The police not reviewing any of the available video and waiting a whole year to indict him on a felony charge seems ridiculous on its face.

i was reading some of the comments in that deadspin article, and this one seems kind of spot on: "If this had been Gronk doing the exact same thing it would be laughed off." Reminded me of the Kevin Hart videos too with him trying to get everywhere on the field.
i agree with almost all in here that Bennett is 99% not free of doing anything wrong. He was likely be a pompous jerk and had complete tunnel vision wanting to celebrate the SB win with his brother, which is something that i have heard about the Bennett brothers over and over (that they want to win a SB together). Reading different things and seeing all of the "assault" just seems like it wouldn't make any sense. I mean they make him sound like the hulk busting through multiple locked doors and through guards everywhere.

One guy is still with his team played both OLB and DE and made one of the biggest plays in Eagles History. Plus according to PFF I believe he's one of the top 5 rated DE's in a 4-3 scheme against the run. another IMHO benefited from other guys around him and doesn't fit a 3-4. Sacks aren't the end all be all stats for Pass rushers plus Probowls are a popularity contest every year. or you hate Bennett for whatever other reason, because no one can be this dense. I will entertain for a bit more though. What facts do you have that maybe the rest of us don't have? This event occurred at the SB, where there seems to be a camera literally everywhere. You are telling me there is no video anywhere, as Bennett is breaking through multiple locked doors and storming the field, of any of this? i mean there are so many unknowns right now that a rational person would not be making tons of assumptions and wait to see some additional info. I was never a big fan of the Bennet trade. I mean I wasn't gonna cause a huge stink because we gave up a #5-6 WR on the depth chart and a 5th however I was turned off by Bennet do to his shaninagans with his Brother. I can't remember exactly what it was an AMA or something else but they basically #### on a ton of players and coaches around the league. Both act like entitled punks. I was fine with Bennet if he played well but I also didn't like how he falsely accused Vegas police of Police Brutality when video proof shows him acting like a clown and not follow officer's commands. That does nothing to help any of the fight against bad cops who are out there. Either way if he's guilty I hope he doesn't get a slap on the wrist. Any chance the Trade is voided somehow or do we take this on the chin? Maybe Jerrrah is interested now that Bennet is a criminal?

Say this is fabricated. Would it surprised anyone if this was pay back to Bennet for falsely accusing law enforcement of police brutality in Vegas and cops using a prior incident to push their weight around and say hey don't pull #### like that again? It really wouldn't considering me considering the Police brotherhood. I'm very supportive of law enforcement with a very close family I'm friends with of multiple family members involved and one of my favorite youth baseball coaches is a cop as well. However considering the corruption in some of these forces these guys would lie to save a buddies job if they had to and had a vendetta against someone. It does seem a bit odd the case.

A bit off topic but I know my guys would know in here the answer. So today I found out the Phillies board I post at that is handled by MLB.com was disbanded today without warning. Kind of bummed they did that without giving us warning. Anyway My board has a fantasy Keeper league football wise that I love and I won the league the year before last year and ended up 2nd pick this year do to injuries and under performers. Anyway I was wondering if this forum does any Dynasty or Keeper Football leagues or have any news leagues of either starting up before every season? I'd be way more interested in a dynasty league that's just starting but wouldn't mind taking a team for someone who didn't come back. I'm mostly looking for free leagues though as I do fantasy for fun. I'm just afraid with my board being gone the league will maybe not disband this year but with in the next 2 or so yrs. I really liked the league as I actually came up with the idea for it. I'm just bad at making leagues and didn't want the GM duties so another poster took that over. I figured now with the board gone I'd ask

I was willing to believe that Bennett did bad and it's finally coming to light but that press conference by the last police chief was really weird. He mentioned entitled football player thinking he owns the world like 3 or 4 times. Someone clearly with an axe. It was very unprofessional.

i'd be upset if they released him without getting further information. Luckily, i think this organization is better then a lot of others, and will gather more information and facts before rendering a decision. i have no doubt if a good portion of this comes out as true the Eagles will drop him the next day, no thought to salary cap or anything behind it. but there are way too many unanswered questions right now, and the Houston PD did it to themselves by feeling the need to call a press conference to announce this. now i assume that the league and Eagles will do a better job investigating this then that police force did, and will act before training camp starts.
i mean if there is anywhere i would expect there to be some video of an event/location it would be the SB. at least something, somewhere. i mean you are telling me with security concerns at their highest, they have no indication of anything that goes on with their locked doors in the stadium. And if they don't, how the hell do they know Bennett broke through multiple ones. this was the same SB Tom Brady got his jersey stolen after the game, is this the security detail we trust completely?
i just think it makes perfect sense to withhold judgement and get more info. I can see Bennett barreling through a door to meet his brother on the field to congratulate him, maybe run someone over in the process. but the picture this sheriff is painting infers a deliberate Bennett doing everything bad he could

Yup without warning too were you the same SN there because I think I remember someone with that name. How long ago did you post there? I came in around 06 of fall where every new member got the SN Baseball. I ended up changing it to Wildthing93 after there was confusion between me and two other guys and one was just being a troll. I wanted to create an SN I'd remember plus tribute to the 93 team my Favorite team at the time. A guy going by OregonPhils I believe first name Gene helped me create it. I wish they had given us a month or so notice they were doing this and they do it 2 weeks before the regular season starts? The Angels and Cubs board were already gone but the Cubs board went do to heated political discussions. I only went there for the Chicago Bulls thread and met a guy who went to Florida. His best friend down there was neighbors with Tim Tebow for all 4 yrs too so he got to hangout with him too. We kept in touch via email for awhile before losing touch with one another. I just wish MLB or whoever ran these boards gave us some notice. Would've been nice to get and give some contact info to a few posters I talked too. One guy was a big football fan like me and use to defend me a lot. He turned down a film job with the 49ers do to family reasons about 10 yrs ago. His brother is a free lance wrestling writer who wrote a heck of an article on a female wrestler I really like who works for Lucha Underground. It would've been nice though to get his info so we could continue our football convos.

I would've made a bigger stink about it but they gave up a 5th and a WR who probably wasn't making the team and he didn't have a huge contract. Bennet is a nice talent however I'm always skeptical getting Sea D guys. Offensive guys I just blame their system and Wilson. He's not a QB who makes the guys around him better like Brady, Rodgers etc. Plus I think he benefited from Lynch way more then people give that dude credit for. I didn't post here at the time but remember saying when Lynch leaves this whole thing will fall apart for Sea. They have too many egos on Def and after they get huge deals they don't seem like the type who'd restructure their deals to help the team out. Either way back to the point had the Eagles given up more value I'd have caused a bigger scene about this trade.

No, I had a different screen name on the MLB boards. Haven't posted in probably 4 years, started maybe around '07 (pretty sure it was before the WS season). We finally just let him go on his rants because it was some of the best trolling anyone ever saw. He's actually a legend amongst posters. Yeah I got there in 06 of the fall. One of my first game threads was the game in Washington where they overruled a HR by the Phillies near the end of the season in I want to say 06 and we missed out on the WC. I posted from 06 till the final night last night. In fact I was in a argument with people who said I hyped up Donnel Pumphrey which I never did. I think I even said on here I didn't get the hype. Two guys got on me how I hyped him up with the He can replace Sproles comments. I told them they misquoted me there. I was repeating simple what I read and heard the Eagles hope he could do. I didn't want them to draft him but I did see why it made Sense too considering Sproles age and Contract plus them being similar type players. I guess if my time on there was gonna end it was with defending myself as usual as someone misquotes what I say per usual. I swear some of those guys over there just wanted to argue for the sake of it.

Yeah I use to hate the Yankees too until the Met fans on there. It's a shame it's gone. I spent tireless nights on there during College too. That board got me through a few tough times too. Wasn't all bad too.
