Doug has to share that with Wentz. When have they come out and looked prepared in the 1st quarter?
Longest drive yesterday was 6 plays, so Wentz deserves his blame too. But it is easy today, 9/10s of the team deserve blame (Adams and our punter are the exclusions, i guess). but that tells me the coach doesn't have the team ready to play and it seems like if the Eagles can't play the underdog card they don't have any other tools in the toolbox.

Wentz is 1-12 when the defense gives up over 26 points. Basically he’s unable, to this point, of being a QB that can win a shootout. If the defense gets him the ball back constantly, sure. He can’t put the team on his back.

Agreed, but it takes two to tango... is Ertz the only target anymore? What happened to Alshon? Tate has been there long enough to be a factor now as well. Is it just a total regression in the passing game/scheme with Reich leaving?

Sorry man but he has to be called to the carpet for yesterday. I get Doug deserves blame too but he’s not throwing those awful interceptions and missing open receivers. Kid doesn’t look anything like last year. We know what the defense is. I mean it’s unprecedented the injury issues. What I can’t forgive is how Wentz could only lead them to 7 points against middle of the pack at best defense. Any other QB in Eagles history would be grilled for this. I’m getting concerned that Wentz is gonna be the Chase Utley of this team and escape all valid criticism.

I give Carson no excuses for yesterday, he didn't play well at all. But so far this season people have been praising him for playing the best football of his career. The Giants, Panthers and Jags games, he looked really good.
There's so many reason's this team is under performing this year, yet we're somehow still 6-4 without those 2 miracle plays. Next years easier schedule, healthier bodies, and hopefully more motivated team, should have us at the very least as co-favourites in a once again awful division.

Yeah I hope so. Hey I love the kid as much as anyone but it was a historically bad game and he's the leader. I get there is blame everywhere. I guess I'm just gobsmacked how this could have gone so wrong and if the team can be turned around next year. There is an awful lot to worry about.

Ya, no excuses for him for this game. That was just bad all around. Just wanted to go into this game and get it over with and come out injury free. Clearly that didn't happen. I blame Doug for not cancelling the flight and forfeiting.

I think I’m about with you on this, if you told me we could win a Super Bowl after losing our MVP QB but next season would be sub par I would take it all day twice on Sunday. We just need Carson to get out of this year healthy and have an off-season to prepare. Yet still we are only 2 games behind 1st as well, could be a lot worse.

I’d like to see them finish strong. The division is still there for the taking. It’s unlikely they could make any noise even if they took it, but at least make a run and show last year wasn’t a fluke heading into the offseason.

It was unlikely that they were going to make any noise last year in the playoffs but they got hot at the right time. Now this year is different and I would be beyond shocked if this team had a superbowl run in them. But the division is absolutely there for the taking. In fact, I still think they're the best team in the division.

Then again this team may sweep the rest of their divisional games but I don't see them matching up well against the Rams or Texans.

Absolutely he had a bad game yesterday and hasn’t looked like last year at all. I mentioned in here somewhere why that is and I thought we somewhat expected him to not look as good. Coming off the knee is one and injuries all over are the other. Add in teams adjusting and it’s just a recipe for disaster.Kwai Chang Caine said:
My main point is that depending on where you read or who you listen to it’s one persons fault. It’s Doug’s or Wentz or Swartz etc. etc. It’s just about everyone on the team that’s slipped. It’s not that he’s Utley (at least not to me) but it’s like blaming one batter for a team being no-hit or shut out.

Maddox an Douglas looked worse. Sidney Jones should be Month to month. Is there anything this guy hasn't injured yet? I hate being right but I remember when he ruptured the Achilles I said anyone who drafts this guy might regret it. They never comeback 100% and these guys always seem more injury prone after as well. I hoped I was wrong but I don't see why anyone was blowing their load over this guy as our first pick before he got hurt. So glad we took Derrick Barnett with our first rounder or the Jones pick looks a lot worse.Skeletore Eh said:

Sunday is a MASSIVE game. Nothing to do with our place in the standings, but just seeing if this team mentally responds and fights and plays together, or has dialed it in. The effort we see this Sunday likely is what we'll get for the rest of the year.

I did too before this past weekend. This secondary actually got worse though. They can't stop anybody. The Cowboys are the better team right now, and the Redskins might be too.
Would like to see the offense find some better rythm and at least put up a fight though. I don't understand why the running game hasn't been a little better.

Look at KC. Reid calls the O. Losing the 'OC' doesn't hurt.
Look at the Rams now. No team can take the OC because it's McVay.
You must hire someone that can do that job so teams don't pilfer your offense...see Shanahan/ATL. IT's taken over a year to fix it and then they could lose the next guy.
NEVER hire a defensive coach as HC in todays NFL. Recipe for disaster. No need to talk about NE because Brady is the OC.

We did that though as Doug is an offensive guy that calls the plays. How important Reich was is all speculation, and no one outside the organization really knows exactly how much, and what he was doing in terms of play calling/game planning. My guess is the latter.
I think McDaniels is pretty used and important there. Would say he's a big part of what NE does. He could have left for a HC job the last 3 years but didn't (Or did, but then didn't)
The difference between McDaniels and say, a guy like Shanahan (minus the brainfart in the SB) is that McDaniels has no clue. He's riding Tom Brady right now He had a shot and thought Tim Tebow was something special. He will get another shot and it won't end well for him. Shanahan is putting up O with a bunch of nobodies in SF right now.
Yes Reich is speculation but I knew before they pounced on him that it was gonna hurt the Philly O. The guy knows his ####. Philly needs to hope that Peterson can become a Sean Payton or McVay so this doesn't happen again. He doesn't have quite the HC/OC experience yet. I hope it works because I have Wentz.

I think McDaniels is better/more involved than people think and his first stint was a maturity issue, but we'll see in a couple years when he's a coach again.
Not sure Doug has McVay/Payton in him but we'll see.

Regardless Doug is going to have at least 2 more years to figure it out. We had a lot of focus of defensive coordinators after winning - we'll see if Doug can respond. If he can't, we move on. It sucks, but as mentioned - I'll take that one glorious year. Philly needed that.
I don't think he does either. Hope I'm wrong on that. Hopefully with experience, future losses of staff will not stop the O on this team but clearly they did imo.

People also forget that Payton was a guy who some thought would be fired before last season as well. He had a stretch of 3 straight losing seasons, found a Kamara, developed a Thomas, dealt a Cooks, fixed the OL and was right back on track.
In those 3 losing seasons, guess what the constant was? A ton of injuries and bad deals.
I think Doug will be fine but we need a solid draft, get rid of some bad deals and hope to stay healthy.
