OFFICIAL 2018 Training Camp & Preseason: News & Tidbits Thread (1 Viewer)

Corey Coleman - WR -  Bills

Bills acquired WR Corey Coleman from the Browns in exchange for an undisclosed pick in the 2019 NFL draft.

It's the second major deal between these two franchises since Tyrod Taylor was sent packing to Cleveland back in March. Coleman is just two seasons removed from being selected No. 15 overall but has missed 13 of a possible 32 games to a pair of broken hands. His presence should immediately slide second-year receiver Zay Jones down Buffalo's depth chart and eat into what was supposed to be sheer volume for Kelvin Benjamin. This move also creates an immediate scenario for Dez Bryant to sign with the Browns. Standout rookie Antonio Callaway is expected to make noise as the team's No. 3 receiver barring any addition.

Hasn't ESPN posted this about four times already?
You are correct. ESPN updates the information periodically, and it is a more cost effective model versus dispatching reporters to all of the training camp locations and providing detailed team reports like they used to a few years ago.

11 takeaways from Browns camp

  1. Tyrod Taylor is legit
  2. Shon Coleman cannot play left tackle
  3. Damarious Randall is a great fit
  4. Cornerback outside of Denzel Ward is a problem
  5. David Njoku desperately needs a good preseason
  6. The run defense is fantastic
  7.  So are the running backs…potentially
  8.  Josh Gordon is absent but not gone
  9. Better QB play has helped the depth WRs
  10.  Hard Knocks is going to be fun
  11. Briean Boddy-Calhoun could be the odd man out

Sixth-round WR Braxton Berrios has been working behind second-year UDFA Riley McCarron early in Patriots camp.

Both are slot receivers vying for playing time with Eric Decker during Julian Edelman's four-game ban. Berrios and McCarron in particular should log heavy preseason snaps. Berrios missed most of the spring with an undisclosed injury. It sounds like he's been outplayed by McCarron two weeks into camp.

Fourth-round QB Kyle Lauletta has "experienced growing pains" early in Giants camp.

Monday was an especially rough practice for Lauletta, who threw an interception and "overthrew a bunch of deep balls," per beat reporter Jordan Raanan. Raanan fully expects Davis Webb to open the season as Eli Manning's backup.
