Man that’s gonna be fun. Already thinking about the Cali-Seattle-Vancouver road trip to catch some of these games. I don’t know what districts they’ll be known as by then, but still, fun!

Is there a full list of proposed matches or cities somewhere yet?

Nah. All we know is there will be 80 matches. 60 in the US, 10 in Mexico and Canada each. US gets all the matches quarterfinals onward.

Yeah, this Spain thing is amazing. Hope they promote one of the assistants only for him to immediately announce that he to will be joining the staff at Real after the tournament.

I get that taking another job like a month after negotiating an extension was a weak move, but this is pretty much the definition of cutting your nose to spite your face for Spain.

I think there is also the whole Barca v. RM in the team that bubbles up when he takes the RM job like that.

Having said that, the shark move would be to hire Zidane.

I’m already dreading the cost of taking my son to see Saudi Arabia play Finland in Chicago in 2026. He’ll be 21 by then, so hopefully his lucrative career as a professional Fortnite player will allow him to treat me.

Obviously, the Spanish FA could not tolerate the distraction caused by the manager announcing his next job just days before the start of the tournament.

I’m ten pages behind on the thread and a week late on getting the drinking guide out - my apologies to you all.  As has been the case for the last few tournaments please posts some drinks for the 32 teams - especially those that have not made an appearance in a recent tournament.  Have placeholders for beer, wine, liquor and mixed drink for each country.

@Ramsay Hunt Experience

@Sebowski

@Jaysus

@The Gator

@Sweatpants Boner Man

Should have it posted tonight in time for the first game.

He has no chance against my son.  Although my wife’s strict 2 hour limit may be putting my son at a huge disadvantage

Alright, thanks for the input boys. I’ll figure  out the consensus and get an entry in, 50% of winnings to Chance for Hope.
Here's our entry, thanks for the help.

Brazil

Argentina, England, Belgium

Serbia, Senegal, Egypt, Sweden

I just realized how old I’ll be in 2026 and am no longer looking forward to it
I remember thinking as a teenager at the time about New Years Eve 1999, what a party it would be when all the digits flipped, but I'd be too old (30) to enjoy it.

Little did I know I had three solid decades of jackassery yet to live, and still going strong. :thumbup:

Just heard the news! Woooo!

We automatically qualify now right?

Check out the soccer thread when you get a chance.  The vast majority of the WC vote talk is going on there.

As for this question, it is undecided.  FIFA has to vote on which or all of the three countries automatically qualify.  There is a 99.999999999999% chance US will imo.  I expect all 3 countries will.

Costa Rica

Beer: Imperial

Wine: ?

Liquor: Cacique

Mixed Drink: Chiliguaro https://www.nosara.com/chiliguaro-recipe/

I have a team of about 8 people in CR; I posed the question to them.  While they were unanimous on the beer, there was consensus on the rum, and none of them suggested a wine.... Jose was the only one who was adamant that I include the Chil Guaro cocktail - he even sent me a link in english with a recipe and has been sending me photos and links for the last 10 minutes now  I have always liked Jose.

Here's our entry, thanks for the help.

Brazil

Argentina, England, Belgium

Serbia, Senegal, Egypt, Sweden
With this entry, whoever is the semi finalist in the top section of the bracket is going to be a problem unless it’s somehow Egypt. I like these picks, but it’s a virtual certainty that one of Russia, Spain, Portugal, Uruguay, France, Croatia, Nigeria, or Morocco will be the semifinalist in the top section and you have none. It’s mathematically possible for you to get it with Egypt, but frankly unrealistic. I would think about if you think it’s possible to win without 4/4 semis to see if you want to balance it better. Your other “out” would be rooting Arg to not win group D which would be counterintuitive since you have them.

I'd invite all of them over for a bible study, if you know what I mean.  (maybe a practical demonstration of Song of Solomon)
