Lets fire up some early tidbits. More to come later today. Here we go!
The 49ers defense has not allowed a touchdown pass since Week 3 vs. Pittsburgh. Over the last four games their passer rating allowed is just 42.2. For comparison, throwing it straight into the ground every time earns you a passer rating of 39.6.
Nick Bosa is on his way to winning Defensive Rookie of the Year, and making a case for Defensive Player of the Year. Lawrence Taylor is the only player to win DPOY in his rookie season back in 1981. Lets look at some of Bosa's impressive numbers:
Yards per dropback, QBs vs. 49ers:
- Jameis Winston: 4.5
- Andy Dalton: 6.3
- Mason Rudolph: 5.5
———BYE———
- Baker Mayfield: 2.8
- Jared Goff: 1.7
- Case Keenum: 3.3
- Kyle Allen: 2.3
Nick Bosa’s ankle got 100% healthy at the bye.
Nick Bosa in the 49ers’ win over the Panthers:
-4 total tackles
-3 sacks for 25 yards
-3 quarterback hits
-3 tackles for loss
-1 pass breakup
-1 interception for 46 yards
Nick Bosa is first #49ers player to have 3+ sacks and interception in same game. Youngest player in #NFL to ever do so. He joined Vikings DE/DT Kevin Williams (12/28/2003) and Panthers DE Julius Peppers (10/13/2002) as the only rookies to have at least three sacks and an interception in a single game since 1982.
Bosa's three sacks were the most by a member of the 49ers since LB Aldon Smith registered 5.5 sacks against Chicago (11/19/12).
Bosa, who celebrated his 22nd birthday on Wednesday, becomes the second-youngest player since sacks became an official statistic in 1982 to notch three-or-more in a game.
Bosa is the sixth player since 1982 to record at least seven sacks through his first seven career games (DE Julius Peppers, 7.0 – 2002; DT Santana Dotson, 7.0 – 1992; LB James Francis, 7.0 – 1990; LB Vernon Maxwell, 7.0 – 1983)
Bosa's seven sacks are the fourth-most by a rookie in franchise history (Aldon Smith 14 in 2011, Charles Haley 12 in 1986, Dana Stubblefield 10.5 1993)
Bosa had a great reaction to Bruce Irvin saying the 49ers are "Ok", and "Not world beaters":

Did Nick Bosa hear the chants of his name? Calm nod: “Yeah, I liked it.”
The 49ers dropped 51 points with an 82% completion rate on over 6 yds per carry Sunday, knocking a top-five defense right out of its perch..and now they should start getting healthy.
This is only the 12th time in regular season franchise history that the 49ers have scored 50 or more points. Most recent before today: a 50-14 win over Arizona in 2003. Before that they scored 55 against the Detroit Lions in 1993. The last time San Francisco scored seven-or-more touchdowns in a game was in December of 2003 against the Arizona Cardinals (also seven).
The 49ers five rushing touchdowns were the most by the team since October of 1992 against the Atlanta Falcons (also five).
The 49ers rushed 38 times for 232 yards, for an average of 6.1 yards per rush.
Tevin Coleman had 11 rushes for 105yds (9.55 yds/rush), and scored 4 TDs (19yds, 48yds, 1yd). Also had a 10yd TD reception.
Raheem Mostert had 9 for 60 with a 41 yd TD
RB Tevin Coleman is the first player in franchise history to rush for three touchdowns and haul in a touchdown reception in the same game. His four touchdowns were the most by a Niner since WR Jerry Rice had four against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 1993.
The 49ers had seven sacks against the Panthers and have had three-or-more sacks in four consecutive games. The last 49ers team to accomplish that feat was the 1998 team, which did it from Weeks 2 through 6.
The 49ers defense held the Panthers to 100 net passing yards. This marks the fourth-consecutive game in which the team has held an opponent to 100-or-fewer net passing yards. The last time the San Francisco defense held four consecutive opponents to 100-or-fewer net passing yards was in 1977. That year was also the last time any NFL team held four straight opponents to 100-or-fewer net passing yards, when both the 49ers and Atlanta Falcons did it.
The 49er defense stopped Carolina on two 4th down attempts and Carolina only converted 2 of 13 3rd downs.
Jimmy Garoppolo was 18 for 22 (81.82 completion%), 175yds, 2 TDs, 1 INT, passer rating of 111.2
Mitch Wishnowski has punted 20 times this season. Total return yards by opposing punt returners: 2. Yes, you read that right. TWO YARDS.
