*Official 2020 Philadelphia Eagles Thread* Humanity will never recover from the most horrible event to happen in the last 100 years: Doug Pederson pla (1 Viewer)

I just want to see some changes.  not the same talk about how they are going to work harder/fix stuff and nothing changes.  we have heard that garbage for years
It's Andy's "I gotta do a better job" except they never do. Andy usually course corrected. Had a game of Westbrook with 30 carries to shut people up. Doug did that in 17 after KC. Not so much since.

Hi guys back from a little "vacation" do to one of @Deamon's favorites.

Anyway a few things to discuss.

Get the Brett talk out of the way lets just say respect the player but no one has ever asked Brett for an expert opinion on Football. If people wanted it he'd be an analyst or some type of TV commentator similar to Romo by now

Offense this week went UPTEMPO LIKe I"Ve said they needed to do since 2017. I hope it keeps up. They looked sloppy on Sunday but Wentz didn't turn it over. Peters looks awful out there and Jeffrey looked disinterested when he was out there. We really need to fire Schwartz. He did adjust a little to the read option stuff but giving Daniel Jones that many yards when he's no where near a Lamar Jackson type is embarrassing.

As for the offense stuff I think we need a new QB coach and ONE OC not a bunch of OCs each who does different things. Two solid guys each.

Figured you got suspended.  Lets move on to next week though and dont try to catch up and respond to every post in here over the last week.  Please.

Most of it is.  But we are also going to have to part with a couple players that will hurt us

My guess is we are losing ertz, djax, Jeffery, cox.   And a handful of other starters. To be determined.

we won't be bringing in anything in free agency because we have no money.

Hope we have a good draft but don't have much faith in our management
I don't see us losing Cox unless someone comes to us with an offer they just can't refuse. Cox is still good and one of the things he does well is eating up a Double team which I think has freed up Graham a lot. The other 3 I can see leaving along with Peters (hopefully retiring) and we can get Jordan in there. I don't have a lot of Confidence in Dillard and Jordan has done more in less games to impress then Dillard has so maybe he can become a nice Back up LT or we hope a team loses their main guy next summer and we pull a Bradford to Minny trade again somehow. I think Malik Jackson is gone next year too. Depending on Kelce we may need as well.

All in all this roster SHOULD LOOK A LOT DIFFERENT NEXT YEAR.

Do any of you live anywhere that doesn’t require masks and social distancing? I have no clue how this can be an issue in the stadium. It’s unbelievable
Its from mass gatherings and more people in one area higher the risk. Despite what some thing the virus can spread outdoors and in an environment like a stadium even with people spread out can be a super spreader. plus at this rate its safer for no fans then fans as god knows if an usher/security guy gets it, passes it to someone else who goes and passes it to someone else who is closer to the team and more players and coaches get it. Then we'd have even more scheduling issues. I think right now the NFL is counting their lucky stars they haven't had many "make up" games do to this. We just need to finish the season at this point and everyone can move on. Hopefully and it's looking like we may have a vaccination for everyone by Summer and we can get back to somewhat normal after this

The cap situation is about the worst that can be imagined.

I think they have to get rid of cox because of the money.   I could be wrong but I'm betting hes gone.   His play has gone in the wrong direction in the last couple seasons.  Hes overpaid and underachieving.

There will be more starters gone besides these we have mentioned

It may be a distinction without a difference, but the restrictions going into effect on Friday limit the stadium occupancy to 2,000.
However, once they get done with everyone who needs to be there,  there's not much room for fans. The previous limit was 7.500, which translated to only around 5,500 Eagles and Steelers fans attending those games.

My point behind this was mainly because I see no one without a mask when they’re supposed to have one on. I was wondering if you guys see something different  I’ve been living normal life meaning I’ve been out and about and always wear a mask. Never seen anyone without one where they were supposed to have one

You can wear a mask and social distance outside in the Linc without question.

My area is compliant, also. But I think they feel, with the numbers getting so high, that masks+ social distance is still insufficient to prevent spread with large numbers of people.

They just restructured his contract this year. That means they converted his 2020 base salary into a bonus and spread it out - which means there is very little chance he's cut.

21 million dead cap...he'll be here. If they hadn't restructured I think you're right and he'd be gone.

As it is, Jackson, Jeffrey, Ertz are for sure gone.

Additionally think they try and trade Barnett, and might move on from Brandon Brooks..

But there's not much they can do. So many of the high $$ guys have contracts with dead cap spread out 3-4 years after the contract expires, so cutting them saves you almost nothing.

With this soon to be signing of Jordan Howard, the Eagles now have 8 players who were with the Eagles, then another team, then the Eagles again.

- DeSean Jackson
- Vinny Curry
- Richard Rodgers
- Brett Toth
- Shareef Miller
- TY McGill
- Treyvon Hester
- Jordan Howard (soon)

There’s a lot of sloppy talk going around. Practice extends into games. Total DougP issue if true. Inexcusable.

Yea heard that. Absolutely coaching and no accountability.
Can't remember who it was or where I saw it but had heard Wentz is a terrible practice player but it should be more of a non issue as the article went in length of some pretty big names over the years who were terrible practice guys but were great on game day

Jason Peters gets to take off all week and play like #### on Sunday while Mailata takes all the first team reps and sits. Great message.
If Peters wasn't a first ballot HOFer I would say it's more of an issue there but guys his age always get most of practice week off. However most of them don't play terrible in games

Ugh not only am I missing the Eagles game because of work this week my schedule is an absolute disaster. Literally working the whole game and then missing the 4PM games on top of it. I know we suck but those who remember I had a close relationship with my Pop-Pop who died 10 yrs ago this past OCT. One of the things we shared other then fishing was our passion for football so every time I watch a game I feel like a part of him is with me. I can listen to the game/watch some at work but it's no where close to the same as being home.

Doug Pederson said they will have more of a committee at RB. He added that what Miles has done will earn him more carries, but also that their philosophy will be more committee oriented.

:lmao:

I mean for all we know this mean Miles will get ALL the carries this week. But it's not really a committee if you only run the ball 30% of the time.

I think what this means is you can expect Jordan Howard to be called up from the practice squad so he can split time with Corey Clement while Sanders and Scott are rested for the playoffs.  😀

Myles G on COVID list.  Please throw the damn ball to Goedert.
Won't go into detail other then I was really disappointed in the leagues way of handling the Myles G situation. If I was commissioner he'd have been banned for life. Zero excuse for his type of behavior he had and It sickens me the dude got a huge contract extension as well. Meanwhile Josh Gordon likes a little weed and the NFL makes him out to be such a terrible criminal. Just isn't a great look for the NFL IMHO

He doesn’t have to say this is my point. It can be as simple as “Miles is our guy and he’s gonna get a bulk of the work”.

He’s just all over the place when he doesn’t have to be.

As a Miles owner (who already lost Saquon), I wholeheartedly agree with you!

Sums it up:

Roseman is to blame for building an old, injury prone and expensive roster.

Pederson is to blame for calling an unimaginative, predictable offense and failing to utilize his best players.

Wentz is at fault because his decision making and accuracy have fallen off a cliff.

Thing is, we are kinda 'stuck' with Wentz.  I'm convinced he just needs better coaching.  I've never seen a team so desperate for an offensive coordinator in my life.  Doug is over his head.

I'm not giving this team anymore of my time until I hear something serious is changing.
man i wish i could. if this was another sport i may be able to, but it is tough with going a week with out sports, knowing the Eagles come on Sunday.

I do know i won't be betting on these guys again this season

At least the Sixers made some exciting moves and are starting in a few weeks.

I will still be watching from afar.  But I'm done consuming their entire product every Sunday.  Its complete garbage and they aren't even trying to fix it.
