*Official 2020 Philadelphia Eagles Thread* Humanity will never recover from the most horrible event to happen in the last 100 years: Doug Pederson pla (1 Viewer)

I will still be watching from afar.  But I'm done consuming their entire product every Sunday.  Its complete garbage and they aren't even trying to fix it.
That's what irritates me the most. Come out today running like mad men. Get 17 carries in the first half for like 80 yards. Second half? 5 whole carries, all token dives into the line. QB is getting the crap kicked out of him and making tons of mistakes but they continue to keep him in the pocket as a statue throwing non stop. Doug doesn't care.

Eagles outlook for 2021:
- 2nd most expensive roster
- 6th oldest roster
- 64 million over the cap
I say we take off and nuke the entire site from orbit. It’s the only way to be sure.

man i wish i could. if this was another sport i may be able to, but it is tough with going a week with out sports, knowing the Eagles come on Sunday.

I do know i won't be betting on these guys again this season
Me too. I did it with the Phillies of more of protesting the ownership until Middleton took over. Completely embarrassed how Amaro Jr ruined the squad. Football I can't live without and I use to watch whole VERY BAD GAMES at the Vet in the 90s with my Pop-Pop. Only thing making football enjoyable this year is PSU being abysmal and Florida looking like one of the top teams in the country who could possible be playing Playoff ball this year.

Eagles are proving to be loyal to a fault in 2020

Only took about a year and a half for them to notice 🤦‍♂️
Thats because many of them won't ask the tough questions. I miss sports journalist who wouldn't take coaches or teams running around the bush on questions and not accepting the answer until they gave a clear one. Too many are getting too comfy and think if they press too hard they'll lose their insider stuff.

The fact that the message is sent is worth more than the message.
Thing is I don't view is as much as Wentz fault over anyone else's. Not saying he shouldn't be blamed but his WR's get zero separation, the Offensive line is in shambles and the play calling is atrocious. If we are going with the hey We're benching Wentz to save himself from something bad happening in a lost season and protecting him from himself I think I'm more on board with that then just benching him. There's just too many things wrong with this team before I even get to Wentz I'd address first

Reagor wide open on same side only one level above the pick 6 was the final straw. You have no clue.

Hurts doing worse than Wentz would take some serious effort.
Oh trust me Hurts is bad. Bama's defense and talent helped hide a lot of Hurts issues but his skillset held that offense from reaching the full potential it did under Tua. And I can't take much in one season at a Big 12 school when the conference plays literal backyard football. This isn't saying Wentz hasn't been bad but more so saying I don't think Hurts does much to send a message either.

Again I Only saw very little of todays game was listening to it more so than anything. However not sure who the announcers were today but near they end they were talking about all the Eagles issues. plenty of blame to go around. Plus its not like Reagor would've take it to the house. When he gets the ball he's not even getting any YAC. I think we missed on WR again with this one.

Yeah benching the $128M QB because of his POS work for a 2nd rd pick sends no message. 🤦‍♂️

If you’re bagging groceries during games I’d suggest sending Wentz a tweet asking for help

It doesn’t matter which QB we start if the same guy is calling plays.

Id be on board if the fired Doug, named Swartz interim and gave the offense to Duce for the remainder of the season. There’s nothing to lose at this point.

It was a really bad miss.  You're exactly right.  Reagor was wide open and completely in Carson's line of sight.  It's shocking to me that this is the same guy who was in the lead for MVP a few years ago.  His decision making has gone completely down the toilet.

Yeah they had one drive in the late third or early fourth at mid field and we were very much in the game. 3 straight passes. I should say three straight incompletions.   Partially because wentz sucks but thats play calling.   Run the damn ball

When do you just punt the season and try to get the highest draft pick you can? IMO, Dallas really crapped the bed by winning this week.

Whoever wins this division isn't doing themselves any favors.

Doug also seems to be loyal to a fault.  What has Wentz done this year to keep earning start after start?  You drafted a guy in the 2nd round - this seems like the time to see what he can do.  If nothing else, give Wentz a game or 2 to clear his head.  If Hurts falls flat, you stick a potentially rejuvenated Wentz back in there.

Not sure where the personal attacks are coming from dude. Can we try having an adult convo without the insults? You seem to be very emotional over this whole thing. It's only a game dude

Thing is if this was the case I'm all for it. Just don't think throwing Hurts to the Wolves against SEA on Prime Time TV is when to start that.

I don't think it's just Doug loyal to a fault it's the whole franchise. That can be good and bad but the worst is the Jason Peters stuff. Should've been gone after the SB year. The other is keeping Schwartz around. Since he's been here he hasn't developed one young player into a great star or put guys in a position to succeed

exactly why I say, if we had taken Jefferson - he wouldn't have 1/3 of the yards he does now

of all the NFCE team, Dallas has by far the easiest schedule. If they can turn it around and play mediocre instead of terrible, they'll win it.  No one else is getting more then 5 wins imo.

Good points but I think the issues with Wentz this year are like 90% mental.  I feel like they have to give him a week off to just see if he can figure things out.  Probably no good solution this year though.  Just a wasted year.

As much as I hate Hurts the player and the pick, I just can't put the kid in there on SNF against a SEA team who even though their Defense isn't that great it's just the kind of game that Defense needs to feed on. I definitely think a lot of it is mental with him just from everyone I've talked too. I just don't think next week is the week. If Wentz is this bad next Sunday by all means bench him vs the Packers who have a weaker Defense

How is that a personal attack?
First of all I don't bag groceries I stock and help run the Beer/Wine department and work produce. You took the opportunity to bring my job into the argument which other then me having to work during the game has nothing to do with the conversation. I admitted I hadn't watched the game as I was at work so I didn't really see much of it.

The message was already blown when they paid him more to move to LT.
Well he wasn't starting at LT yet and to play devils advocate would you switch positions at your job to a role that pays more then what you currently make but settle to keep the pay you have right now?

You don’t bench your 100+ million dollar starting qb to clear his head unless he gets hurt.

Doug’s head is what needs to be cleared.

Sanders and the running game are always inconsistently used.

They finally find a WR who can catch and never draw up plays for him. Zero targets in the first half is ridiculous

Peters inserted right back in when he’s back

He went for 2 down 4

Last 5 games we are 12 of 56 on 3rd down. How many 3rd down plays have you said “what play is THAT?!”

The league figured Doug out. Plain and simple. He’s loyal to a fault with no eye for coaching talent and his in game decisions are eroding.

Ive seen what Wentz can do in a competent scheme so I know the potential is there. Yes he’s played like trash this season. Wentz isn’t the star I thought he was going to be but a ton of his and the teams struggles all seem coaching related to me.

I’m sure your cousin’s boyfriend, the deli guy and the head cashier agree that it’s mental. So you need to see ANOTHER terrible performance to bench him?? 🤦‍♂️

You don’t get the choice if you want to keep your job.

The day Peters said that should have been his last as an Eagle. Think the guy in NE would have tolerated that?

You brought your occupation into the discussion. Not me.

Doug lost a lot of credibility in the locker room that day. Can't say that's on Howie. I doubt he wanted to give a guy more wasted cap space. The doubling down on it at this point is just making it worse.

I just wanted one of these damn reporters to quit framing a question to vaguely hint at the point they want answered and just bluntly ask it. Why is Jason Peters starting over Jordan Mailata? Answer that Doug.

They asked that before and Doug gave some nonsense referencing Agholor needing to sit at times too..  Was dumb then, it would still be dumb. Play Mailata - let's see if he has it in him to compete for a starter job next year.

And giving Peters a raise was always dumb. All we heard was how much cap trouble we're going to be in next year. So they waste even more of it?

Yea but even then they kind of led him into an answer that excused it.

Yeah well he looked very Doug’ish yesterday trying to lose his game

’17 happened like a lot of Super Bowls IMO. You have a new coach who doesn’t have a lot of tape for other teams, a couple hot players and some luck along the way. It took a ball going right through Julio’s hands, in the end zone, to win that game. Foles and Doug are hot in the next two games and it’s history.
