***Official - 2022 NCAA Tournament Thread*** (2 Viewers)

Illinois bright and early here in the West :coffee:

Hope I'm wrong but don't have a good feeling about today's game vs Houston. Just not a big fan of this team. W/o Kofi, I think they'd be about a 10 win veteran team (can't rebound / can't shoot). So many uninspiring vets playing

Grab a GD rebound!!!!

And get Frazier and Curbelo the #### outta there.

CLANK!!!! CLANK!!! CLANK!!!

These grad and seniors have been AWFUL!!!!! Playing like freshman. While their actual freshman have been their only scoring and life outside Kofi

My buddies went big on Houston first half to try and recoup some bad losses yesterday.  I didn't tail them as I left LV this morning and cashed out.  This was an all or nothing bet for most just to get back to even after some tough losses.  Overall through 3 days of the tournament, I'm down but only 15% of my bankroll.  Could have been worse.  There's always some stupid plays that you get boned on, like that 4 point play at the end of the half yesterday.  That FT flipped a win to a loss for me. I thought that one was in the books too.

Anyway, had a good time in LV. Ate and drank a ton, lost some money throwing dice, decided once again that I hate blackjack.  I played probably 20 hands and won 1, pushed 1, and every table was ice cold and all the players got waxed while I was there.  No thanks.  I'll stick to hoops and dice.

Seems like it is up for grabs now. Will Coach Ks farewell tour end up with a title? Will Zags zig or zag?  St Petes the Cinderella.

Don`t know what kind of coach Juwan Howard is but his players and the players on the other teams seem to love him.  Last couple games on TV the opposing players are hugging him.

That should bode well for Michigan recruiting.

Yep, talking about it on ESPN today and the radio.    Kids will want to play for Juju

Houston was a top-10 Ken Pom team and ended up as a 5 seed. These committees are wild every year.
Illini was completely outmatched physically and athletically across the board outside of Kofi.

Pretty pathetic tourney performance by a largely upperclassman and grad transfer Illini squad. Curbelo better put in the work this offseason. Regressed terribly (I wouldnt be shocked if he transferred). I think I could shoot better with eyes closed and left handed. They snuck by TN Chatachoochoo but really looked like one of the tourneys worst teams throughout.

Congrats to Houston. Easily the better team.

There were worse... I thought the the New Mexico team was particularly bad as was Seton Hall and Boise St. These teams looked like they had no business being in the tournament.

Brutal 80 minutes in the tourney for the Illini. Definitely amongst the worst teams in it. At no point did anyone else in that starting lineup step up. Indictment of the big 10 that they did as well as they did in regular season.  If any ray of light at all was Melendez and big red showing some signs of future promise off the bench

State had this one and pissed it away.  Seems like a familiar story this year. 2 bad minutes of basketball. Ah well. GOGREEN

Tom has made it out of the first weekend only 1 time in the last 6 trips. Thats a bad trend.

He looks not super healthy.  Gonna retire?

I get the sentiment behind the “you probably didn’t see it” NCAA ads, but I don’t recall there being much coverage of men’s college swimming, either.

Yeah, choosing Missy Franklin/swimming for that ad was odd.

I was surprised they did as well as they did in Big Ten as absolutely did not have any hopes for this year's Illini. It was Kofi and a bunch of very lackluster seniors/grad trf that played like freshman and absolute #### this tourney.

Words cant express how bad Curbelo was and regressed this year. I give credit to Underwood for sitting him the whole 2nd half. If he doesn't work this offseason, he may as well transfer to small D1 school or move down a level. Crazy error prone gunning guard that can't throw it in the ocean isn't going to play. I can see him transferring (if it's clear he's not in the plan). I think they tolerated his out of control style last year because he was producing/making plays/hitting shots

Refs in this TT/ND game have been brutally favoring Tech. At least 6 points taken from ND on clearly bad calls. TT is the better team, but looks bad to add the help.

Purdues likely the best of the bunch but what's the worst 0'fer day for a conference in tourney history (or even Round 2)? Big 10 could be looking at an 0-5 day.

And three straight missed fouls on one possession by the refs. Absolutely brutal game by the refs ruins a good game.

Can`t believe Sparty choked this one away.  I had them +7 and they were up 70-65 I thought I was golden.  Then they were outscored 26-6 the last 5 minutes.  :wall:

Program does not seem the same, just lack the toughness and grit they had 7-8 years ago. Without the transfers this year they might have been a 500 team.  Has the game passed Izzo by?

Mixed feelings - really happy my Wolverines moved on to the Sweet 16, but really disappointed with the rest of the Big Ten (Purdue outcome still pending).  For Michigan, I think the next tourney game will be #16 for Eli Brooks.

So Arizona has the same balls deep shirt or whatever duke has.  They change that up if they end up playing?
