***Official 2nd overall pick*** redraft (1 Viewer)

Got the 2 pick in one league. I'm trying to trade down at least a couple of spots, but it'll be a Kupp/JJ flip if no takers, can't justify Ekeler that high and not touching CMC. If I end up staying put there should be two decent backs I can get at the 2/3 turn

Edit - ended up trading down to 3 and taking Kupp

Line me up for a CMC share in Redraft - I just sold him Dynasty, so bound to perform this year... I'd probably stack a few Rookies toward the later rounds as insurance. I start thinking JJ after Ekeler is gone though.

Is it just me? I don't understand all the CMC love. Hasn't he missed most of the last two seasons? Or is everyone basing their hopes on 3 seasons ago? #1 or #2 overall seems like a huge risk to me.

I agree - Specially in my league we start 1RB, 1WR, 1TE and 3 FLEX - I essentially could roll with 1RB and 4WR weekly (bonus for long TDs) Even though Kupp doesn't get those taking a consistent 7-74 with a 0.5 chance at a TD is huge. CMC is the upside pick. I really like Jefferson but nobody willing to trade down.

Drafting CMC you're looking at like T. Hill or Pittman in R2
If you go Kupp, you're looking at like Barkley or Kamara in R2.

While I'm actually in on CMC (players are injury prone until they're not a la Fred Taylor), the above is the conundrum I'm considering. The challenge, however, is that I see both Kamara and Barkley steadily moving up in ADP. That leaves you with Lenny or maybe Javonte if you want an RB there.

At that point if Kamara and Jones are gone I think you have to wait even further and at 47 and 50 overall you'd take a shot on a Dobbins and then in the 6th/7th end up with an AJ Dillon, Montgomery, Elijah Mitchell, Miles Sanders?

I'd go CMC, I'm not worried about his durability at all though. None of his injuries were major, nor were they chronic.

CMC has 7 games, the last 2 years where he actually played the majority of the game. He's been BY FAR the RB1 on a per game basis, pretty close to on par with his monster 2019. The Panthers have improved the OL and QB. Personally, I think the argument is more about should CMC go #1 overall?

CMC is a possible league winner if healthy, especially in PPR.

I just worry if they are out of the playoffs, he'll not get those touches he did all season long in the big weeks 15,16,17.

CMC vs. Kupp PPR is my choice. Very flexible league with QRWTFFFKD

Also liking TE around the 3.2 mark as well.
Can one of your flex spots be a QB? If so I lean Josh Allen. If not I think you have to go with McCaffrey, I have serious questions about whether or not he can last a season but in limited action through seven games he still managed a pace that would have put up 2,000 yards with 100 receptions. I am not sure there are many players that have his per game upside, particularly on such a mediocre team. They added three new starters to their offensive line that all should be marginal to significant upgrades, they have a better backup RB in Foreman so hopefully they spell McCaffrey more and IMHO they upgraded QBs with Mayfield.

Kupp is going to Kupp, and the presumptive health advantage of WRs vis-a-vis RBs is significant but I think we are all a bit wary of chasing career years, Stafford's elbow has me more than a little big concerned. He could start 17 but simply be less effective is the inside of his arm is hamburger.

You can't go wrong with either but I lean McCaffrey.

Unless it's super flex in which case I break the sound barrier running to the podium to put in my selection of Josh Allen.

Not SuperFlex. Mayfield did target Hunt alot, but often times he's scramble around like a chicken with his head cut-off and try to do things himself and that was with a good oline in Cleveland.
