That is the current quandary I am in. Most likely will do the same thing.
You guys have to start Moncrief if he's your best non-Alshon option.

You won't know anything until after Friday's practice, or 90 minutes before kickoff.
Yeah...if I don't play Moncrief and Jeffery ends up sitting then I have to play John Brown and Anquan Boldin along with AJ Green. Probably have to keep Moncrief in there.

Jeez, I'm another moncrief alshon decision guy. Plan is to start moncrief and start alshon over Cooper if possible.

I'm expecting alshon to be gtd, unless he gets a fp in today or tomorrow

I like John Brown, but Anquan is waiver wire fodder.

He is indeed. He's my next player I jettison if I see any WW gems coming up next week.

OK, sorry for the hijack. Here's to hoping our Alshon comes back to us (at 100%) for a juicy match up against the Chefs.

Man if I could get this guy back i'd have a heck of a flex player. Instead I'm reduced to the likes of Rashad Jennings or Isaiah Crowell.

I'm starting to wonder if an Alshon trade is imminent, (perhaps Baltimore, Carolina. Cam loves big targets) and that's why they're keeping him off the field. Maybe he's actually ready to go and a potential injury or reaggravation could kill any trades in the works. It's not like he needs to be "showcased". Teams know what he can do, but they want him healthy. Just a thought.

It's a hammy. He'll probably be limited the rest of the season.
but the point of sitting out 3 weeks is to get 100% healthy so it's not an issue the rest of the season.. that's the hope anyways
I get that, but it's probably unrealistic. If they truly wanted to sit him until he's 100%, they would be waiting until week 8 at the earliest. With a hammy, it's just get it back to 80-90% and hope he makes it the rest of the way.

God do i hope so

in NFL terms of draft picks, what would a guy like Alshon be worth?
Maybe a 3rd. Not enough. He's about to be a free agent. Bears aren't trading him anyway. One of the few good players they have left over from the old regime, if he can actually get in the field.

if he will be a free agent, wouldn't it be a better move for them to trade him and get a draft pick for him? I don't really have any knowledge of how organizations run things like this, but I think I've heard that with upcoming free agents they sometimes trade them away to get something before they get nothing.

It makes logical sense for a GM to do that but i don't know if they think logically

I've read from some local beat writers (or it was here haha) they were in a mini fire sale, so it could make sense.

I don't buy any trade scenarios.

Alshon is banged up right now, but so are a lot of NFL players.

The guy is talented, and has been productive.

He's not easily replaced.

Tough to say right now, but how does Kevin White project in comparison?

*I know this is not a Kevin White thread - just continuing the conversation about Alshon and/if he would be traded this year.

Letting Alshon go is more than a "mini" fire sale. I just don't see that actually happening, same as them trading Forte. Those guys are key parts to the team. They have cut or traded some guys but more because of new schemes. Alshon can be used in any scheme. When he's healthy, he's a beast. Can't see the Bears trading away or letting one of their best draft picks walk. It wouldn't make sense.

I really don't know. As a Bears fan, I would like to see how he looks but not sure it will happen this year.

"thank you" :)

I would agree, I wouldn't let him go. Rebuilding takes years and if you have some key guys, then I would assume its easier to build around them.

Wow. I remember the good ol' days when I thought I had a healthy Jefferey on my dynasty team as a fundamental building block to success. I am not concerned about Jefferey's talent, but damn this is getting old.
