Not really. We knew he had an elevated injury risk, but having a season ending injury before the year is even half way over? Nobody knew that was going to happen.Big fan of fosters but we all knew this was gonna happen

I think you just took the title of Top Turd from him.I'm glad the biggest turd in my league drafted Foster in the third and thought he outsmarted everyone. Joke's on you, ####ng ####### turd.
God's way of telling him that he has enough money to completely enjoy the life of his life and that he shouldn't waste any more of his time on a game that ultimately means nothing.chauncey said:Any atheist jokes yet?
Some people think football is a matter of life and death. I assure you, it's much more serious than that.God's way of telling him that he has enough money to completely enjoy the life of his life and that he shouldn't waste any more of his time on a game that ultimately means nothing.chauncey said:Any atheist jokes yet?
You talking to me?I drafted Foster, knew there was risk and rolled the dice and lost. It seems strange people would gloat over the loss of a good football player. All players come and go, but to celebrate the end of a player that worked his ### off seems like you should find a different thread to troll.
I dont know, was I? Did you gloat over a good player thats career ended today? I didnt go further back than this last page, just seen a couple people happy that his career is over for some reason. You talking to me?I drafted Foster, knew there was risk and rolled the dice and lost. I did, but then I traded for Gurley. Now will need Lacy to get it together and be my No. 2.How many took Foster over Gurley in redraft leagues this season?
Guess I was overestimatingok so he'll be healthy for approximately 2.5 more gamesAdam Levitan
✔@adamlevitanArian Foster not limited today: "Now I’m at the point that if (groin) is going to re-tear it’s going to re-tear so I’m just going full go."

fatigue is often a huge factor in the mechanism of an achilles injuries. its very possible that his body was tired from pushing off all game and was not in great condition due to his previous injuries and that contributed to this achilles tear.Non contact injury, it was just a matter of time. The odometer on his Achilles just hit all 9s. Could have been the last play of this game or the first of the next one.You can thank O'Brien for keeping him out there in a meaningless loss.
I didn't draft either - but I would have taken Foster over him in a redraft. I'm a huge fan of Gurley, traded for the top pick so I could draft him in a dynasty, but he was surely more risky than Foster as far as the "not knowing what you're paying for" angle. How many took Foster over Gurley in redraft leagues this season?
Well said.I traded for Arian after week 2 knowing full well the risk I was taking on. It sucks that he's done in week 7 but I I'll take the 3 very productive weeks he gave my lineup that helped me go 3-0 with him in there.
And its fitting that on a day when his team was getting blown out and the QB play was dreadful he still put up 30 plus pts in my league and was going for another score when he unfortunately got hurt. He is/was one of a dying breed as a true feature RBs in FF who gave you pts running the ball, out of the backfield, and at the goaline. I loved that he was greedy in a FF sense. Knew how to take breathers at the right points in drives but always did his best to be in the game to maximize FF production.
While others may want to beat their chest and say I told you so because a guy with a heightened injury risk got hurt again, I just wanted to take a moment to salute Arian Foster. A lot of fun to watch as a NFL fan and a FF beast for the better part of 5 plus years.
In the tradition of his TD celebrations, here's a Namaste bow to Arian Foster, FF legend...
These are my sentiments also. We are lucky that this happened on the back end of a 20 plus point game because it was bound to occur at some point in the next two weeks.O'brien should not have kept him in BUT let's face it guys, foster is and always was an injury prone player. The Jordan reed of RBS. Talent out the wazoo and can never stay healthy long enough to realize his potential. Has he stayed healthy for most of his career he could be a hof candidate. He's that talented. But this is the end for him. I for one am thankful for the last 3 weeks where he has helped me to key wins. I drafted him in the 7th RD. I got my money's worth.
I wish him the best of luck in his recovery and his next life endeavor.

Which is why losing him from a fantasy perspective hurts so much - you can't fully replace that production, or maybe even come close. Foster was putting up bunches points when he returned even though the team around him was awful, and he himself was averaging about 2 YPC. How many guys can you say put up points no matter what the situation/score? Can probably count them on one hand.

Let's face it, as an avowed atheist, it was only a matter of time before his career was going to be destroyed. I will pray that he has saved up some of his money and can move on with the next phase of his life in comfort.
No...it's nothing like Steve jobs. That was a really superbly dumb conparison. Do you have any experience with pancreatic cancer?? I do. My mother had it. If you go the conventional medicine route, it's basically a death sentence. They have NO answer for it. You can do chemo it t won't cure you. It will only prolong your life by MAYBE a few years and they will be miserable years BC the chemo is poison and saps your energy completely. If the cancer has not spread from your pancreas, you can get a Whipple procedure (which my mother had). It's the most complex surgery there is. More than brain surgery. They reroute your entire intestinal tract. You're never the same afterwards. It's horrible.Too bad he bet his career on his cousin Ricky or whoever, instead of a real strength & conditioning coach.
It's like when Steve Jobs was diagnosed with a treatable cancer and bet his life on holistic medicine and acupuncture instead of real doctors. Did him just about as much good as Arian Foster got.
As a son of a father suffering from pacreatic cancer. Damn straight. Especially watching all the pink adorned by the NFL this month, I sure do wish the public awareness and funds for research would even come to close to that of breast cancer, instead of being a tiny fraction.No...it's nothing like Steve jobs. Conventional treatment for pancreatic cancer is a route to major suffering. Steve jobs was a smart guy. He knew that and decided to take his chances on other less toxic routes.
We also know nothing about fosters brother or his conditioning regimen. Injuries happen. They happen to just about every player in the nfl regardless of conditioning. It's a violent sport.
Foster shouldn't have been on the field getting so much work in an obvious loss for the Texans and just 4 weeks removed from his recovery of a serious injury. Period.

Wouldn't surprise me. He's made good money and an achillies injury isn't the easiest thing to come back from.Anyone else think Foster may call it a career instead of subjecting his body to any more punishment while getting paid a fraction of the amount he was previously getting in HOU?
Forte absolutely comes off as the guy who would take less to be in a better situation. thats just my opinion based on nothing scientific. However, Foster i could see going either way if he comes back. I could see him taking the most money that is offered. I could also see him going to a team like Denver or AZ on the cheap where he could contribute and have a shot at a title but not be the guy that everyone relies on.Who'd be willing to take less....and who's able to give more....Foster or Forte?
I don't know who would take less, but given Foster's injury I'd guess Forte has more to offer.Who'd be willing to take less....and who's able to give more....Foster or Forte?
Indy wouldn't want Foster, they have Gore. Why would they want another over the hill RB? If anything I believe the Colts want to get younger. My guess, he'll be either retiring or heading to Indy or NE. In NE he has a great shot at the title and could give their run game a huge boost if healthy. In Indy he'd have a great shot to beat the Texans twice a year.
