certainly I'm not happy with this last game, but its great being an O's fan these days...missing our best pitcher(Bedard) and our best hitter(Brian Roberts) we go into Boston and nearly take 3/4. We blow them out in 2 games.These O's are for real- theres no denying it now. And icon I'm still waiting for you to accept my offer. Stop ducking me. I'm ok with your bet stipulation(money), so you stop running from mine(sig).

Not until Manny wakes up and starts hitting....which I feel is right around the corner. Maybe we should get them some of those contact lenses that roberts is using... after all if one guy can use them everyone should get fitted for 'em

Well, the O's played well, and the Sox were lucky to get the split. Hitting cooled off quite a bit in this series, and the pitching was shaky.On the plus side, they came out of it sitting just fine, with the Yankees possibly getting swept tonight, so all is well. Tough couple series coming up fo sho!
Guys, can you all just cut out all the childish "Prove It, Let's bet" crap? Can't some guys talk about our team without it coming down to elementary school type challenges?]Are you serious with the sig bets? That was so 2001. Sack up and accept [icon]'s generous offer. You say the O's are for real, prove it.
For a serious reply, the Orioles are now depleted with injuries. Bedard, Lopez, Bigbie, and Matos. That is 3 everyday players and their top pitcher. And now there is talk of Roberts, who has not played the last two games, going on the DL.And the result: the Orioles split 4 games with the Red Sox. With all this going on, it sure does not look like the Orioles are going to fold, although Mazilla has pretty much admitted that the roster is lacking depth. The goal here is to play near .500 baseball until they get some of their players back.

It was nice while it lasted.
O's drop out of first place for the first time since April 23. Hate to blame injuries, but its tough to go without your best pitcher for over a month and lose your best hitter for a few weeks as well during that time and expect to stay in first. Although I guess the Sox losing Schilling is comparable.Should be a good race.

The Orioles are toast. They will hang around for a little while but its painfully obvious that they don't have the pitching to go far.
