Official Bishop Sankey - Best RB in the 2014 Draft (1 Viewer)

This is such a mess. Whisenhunt just trots guys out there and not one of them gets into a rhythm. There is really no rhyme or reason as to the rb rotation with the Titans. Its as if Whisenhunt just picks a name out of a hat each play as to what RB is going to get a touch. A guy will have a great run or two and then won't get a touch again for a while. Whisenhunt seems in over his head. Just a dreadful job of coaching this team and their record and results prove that right each and every week. He should be lucky to make the end of the year but Im sure he will be standing their clueless all year.

No your not. I think he has looked good at times when given the opportunity.

The coach doesn't seem to think so. It is inexplicable to me why they drafted Sankey based on how the coach has used him. They could have drafted Hyde or Hill and gotten a player that I think better suits what Wiz is looking for in a RB. I don't know if there is a lack of communication between Wiz, the front office and their scouting staff or what is going on. The front office did not seem to buy the right groceries for the coach and I wonder why the coach didn't have more input into the decision. If the coach did have input into the decision then they overpayed for a RB the coach has shown no interest in featuring. When Sankey has done well the coach goes away from him anyways.

12-42-0 rushing, 0 receptions game 2

5-10-0 rushing, 2-31-0 receiving game 3

7-20-0 rushing, 3-23-0 receiving game 4

Averaging about 7-21-0 rushing and 1.5-15-0 receiving last four games.

The volume isn't there, he isn't getting a lot of opportunity, but not sure averaging 3 Y/C in the last four games will change that?

It is clear he is not going to be featured or even given a chance in this Offense. Best case scenario is Whisenhunt is fired and someone comes in and gives him a chance.

Maybe,

However situation and scheme matter. I think he has enough talent he could be successful in the NFL.

Me too but it won't be with TEN til they fix their OL, probably elsewhere.

Bottom-line with him is he is nothing like the inside runner he was at Washington. Maybe a good OL is all he needs.

He shows on screens and outside runs (which Titans use more often now, but just for McCluster, curiously) that he can be difficult to tackle with a head of steam.

Give him a hole, maybe he's a different back.

One thing you can never count enough is confidence and the loss of it.

Whis has not at all let any young player other than MM ever play thru and build confidence. I prefer this usually, but it's not even as veterans are allowed to struggle and continue to play. You can see it with Hunter and DGB and Andrews too. He pulled Poutasi after he did finally start to stop Wake and play well, not in the first half when he struggled. West hasn't been allowed back after fumbling. It's gotta be a system players can follow, even throughout.

 
Injuries and bye weeks have left me with either Sankey or Andrews this week. It is ppr league. Who has the better game? It is desperate times...lol

Desperate doesn't even begin to describe this. Andrews is the bottom of the barrel. They wouldn't even let Sankey in the barrel.
 
Bishop Sankey - RB - Titans

Bishop Sankey was held without a carry in Week 7.
He failed to secure his only target. Even with Zach Mettenberger starting, the Titans continued to abandon their run game. Sankey looks to have fallen behind Dexter McCluster, who started and had five carries. Sankey is droppable in 12-team leagues.

Sankey is not great, but even he is playing below his capabilities. This team is giving up. I just saw Whis on TV blaming players again. Turrible.

 
Only thing Sankey has going for him right now in the long term is that there is little reason to trust Whisenhunt decisions.

Yeah and I have no idea what his trade value was this offseason but we knew Whis didn't like him and he wasn't producing the way he did in Washington.

This right here is what the Titans are experts at.

He had some trade value this offseason, some team probably would have bitten. Now though as we approach the deadline, he's got zero. I tell ya no GM can wait too long and wreck a player's value like Webster can.

Titans sophomore RB Bishop Sankey played zero snaps Week 9 against the Saints.
The coaching staff may have changed, but Sankey remains glued to the bench. With his role on special teams also gone, it would not be surprising if Sankey becomes a weekly inactive once David Cobb is activated. A second-round pick last year, his Titans' career could be short and not so sweet.

I bet he could run well on a good blocking team that uses the FB.

He has good hands and looks comfy in routes and very fluid on screens.

Coach or O I think he'd be best in would be the Saints and Cowboys

I don't think he was active with intentions of not playing him.They were somewhat odd with Andrews and maybe just Mularkey wanting to get a better feel of things.

Today I've been asked quite a bit if Cobb will beat out Sankey.

First thing first, I only think Cobb is a backup this year so IMO we're talking 3rd RB here..

My concern is about trust from Mularkey and the result of fumbles and running into walls. If he is worth another chance as a backup in Mularkey's eyes. IF SO, then yeah Sankey is eons better than Cobb and/or eons more valuable.

Traditionally, as a 3rd RB you'd want him to be...Sankey, exactly what he is. Have experience as feature back, know the offense well, nice pass catching ability, able to step in at WR for some gimmicky matchups, and play ST.

Cobb is not that. Cobb is a banger. For Cobb to be valuable it'd have to be in a wear down the D type role with he and Andrews pounding the rock.

Back to that trust thing- if Mularkey doesn't trust him then they should have traded him and Cobb easily gets the nod over Sankey then.

 
"Sankey practiced well last week, Dex was limited in practice. Sankey was suited to do Dex's stuff."

What does that even mean?

RB David Cobb is active. Wright is week to week, though it would be surprising were he not ready for Week 12.

Also 0 receptions and TDs?

On the plus side, no fumbles on those two carries (not a math wizard, but think that is 0%?).

Only guy on here with a decent career was Joe Morris and that's going back 30 years. Realistically, Vereen is the best case outcome for Sankey.

 
Sankey inactive this week.

McCluster returns from injury.

Last week, he (not McBride) filled in at WR for a couple plays when Douglas was limping and DGB messed up.

This week Wright is out. Douglas hasn't missed practice but geesh that limp didn't look good.

A very unsettling WR spot against an excellent Jets secondary, Titans are going with rookie Turzilli in his first game instead.

A couple weeks as the third down back in for McCluster, Andrews and Cobb played 3rd downs with Andrews getting a smidge more work than Cobb on 3rd. I don't think he got in at RB on 3rd down at all.

At KR He has been replaced by McBride-who just runs straight and drives me nuts but....clearly coaches find this preferable.

So...all the value that Sankey still held because he knew the offense or did other things like KR, has totally been washed away now.

There's still an air out there that two year PS RB Fluellen could get some love as the season closes. If this happens, he will have been beaten out by a WR from Kansas City, two UDFAs the same draft year, and a 5th round pick the following year.

 
Don't know whatever happened with Sankey and not getting a chance there, but the other rb's have all sucked as well. At some stage it is not the rb's, but the coaching, line and scheme. There are some giant question marks going forward with what will happen with this team.

I guess I'm never gonna understand you guys that got this "never got a chance" mindset. I've disagreed throughout this thread and ...I don't see it.

Every single back runs much better with a FB. Cobb and Sankey are borderline useless without, as if you tied their shoes together. They drafted the top FB in the fourth round and he always looks good. They also had a top five FB in camp that got hurt and will probably get an invite this coming offseason.

I doubt a new coach will run a 3 TE offense as much as they have nor that he'll see the FB play and decide he should be on the sidelines.

I just don't know if Sankey will be around to benefit

Well seeing as how the whole running game has sucked all year here is what I mean about not getting a chance.

Week 1: 12 carries for 74 yards and a td and 2 receptions for 12 yards and a 1 td.

Week 2: 12 carries for 42 yards.

You have a young running back that you spent an early round pick on and had what I would consider an ok start to the year.. You then give him 5 carries in week 3 and after a bye in week 4 you give him 7 carries in week 5. He then to date has 5 carries and we are in week 14.

Now I get if you are having success as a team, in the running game etc, but you are not. Now I get we are not privy to seeing practices and stuff, but really seems odd that a team that spent a 2nd round pick on a rb would find a way to bury him this badly on a team that ranks 21st in rushing yards and that is with a running qb. After this week they will drop down again seeing as how as a team they rushed for 24 yards today. Just pathetic really.
