Official Bishop Sankey - Best RB in the 2014 Draft (3 Viewers)

Silva is the only guy that has ever blocked me on twitter. If you even question him, he blocks you. His problem is he takes an opinion, then tweets about it 100 times. How many tweets did he have dogging Gio before the season? At least 50.

He seems like an ok guy on the podcast, but on twitter he's weird. Tweets way too much.
Evan Silva is basically what you'd get if you gave LHUCKS mass media (over)exposure.

I'm pretty sure that taking the exact opposite stance from Silva on every single player would be a great way to cruise to a fantasy championship.

He didnt even see the ball in the 1st half did he?

Was so ready to drop him for a D playing later if he had a quiet day but guess you gotta hold and hope he takes over at some point.

Bishop Sankey was #Titans best player on offense in Week 3, added a major spark vs CIN. Only matter of time before he becomes the guy there.

Funny how Silva is now praising Sankey after being so low on him pre-draft.

Watched more Bishop Sankey after he blew up Combine. He's a rich man's Vick Ballard if you just base the eval off games. Very ordinary RB.

Didnt get love for Stepfan Taylor last year & dont get it for Bishop Sankey this year. Smallish grinder. Fringe draftable guy imo. 7th-FA.

RT @jonv1919 Thoughts on #Arizona RB Ka'Deem Carey? ... From what I've seen pretty clearly the No. 1 RB for this draft.

So much nonsense. I called Silva out on it back then. And he proceeds to block me. How are you gonna block someone who is right?
I have Sankey but is this what it's come to. We're tooting our own horn because he gets a couple of nice garbage times runs as a backup to SHONN GREENE?

I mean, I'm not going to go back and read through this whole thread but I'm guessing that being the starter over Greene was considered a given by the people touting him a couple of months ago and he hasn't even done the easy part yet.

I've never thought it was a given that he would be the starter week 1. It's also far from a given that he'll be a good RB but it's a positive sign that he has over 5 YPC rushing and 10 YPR receiving even in limited so-called garbage time play.

Whisenhunt said Bishop Sankey's footwork is improving and will continue to get opportunities.
Rotoworld take:

Titans coach Ken Whisenhunt said Monday that rookie Bishop Sankey's "footwork is improving," which should lead to more opportunities.

Sankey is averaging 5.94 YPC with a touchdown amid what Whisenhunt believes is shoddy "footwork" the past two weeks. So consider the possibilities once Sankey's "footwork" improves, we suppose. Sankey played only 29 snaps in Week 3 and 24 snaps in Week 4. The Titans have lost three straight games.

How much you want to bet his footwork is good enough to play a lot this coming week? Whiz can see the writing on the wall and has to start playing guys that are producing.

Nashville is upset with Whisenhunt for several reasons right now - three straight losses, the team looks bad on both sides of the ball, and the under-usage of the first RB taken in this year's draft.

Whisenhunt's "footwork" explanation probably would have sounded ok if the Titans were winning, but in the current situation it sounds like the Titans failed to coach Sankey on footwork and/or failed to correctly evaluate Sankey's talent/coachability (drafted the wrong guy).

Salt on a wound, the Browns are coming to town with two rookie RBs who have been successful early and who could potentially run all over LP Field. It looks like the Browns either coach their RBs better or evaluate RB talent better.

RBs have been successful against the Browns this year, and Ray Horton will be game-planning against his former team. If the Titans can mount a successful ground attack, that would go a long way toward overcoming the Titans shaky defense and questionable QB play.

The Titans need a win first and foremost, but it could be smart for Whisenhunt to showcase Sankey at home against the Browns this week. The stage is set, imo.

Great insight, thanks.

I just had a chance to watch all of the Titans runs from the last game and I really thought Sankey looked good. The issue is the running game just isn't getting very many calls. Sankey had 6, Greene had 3 and McCluster had 2. Whitehurst had 5 but I have to assume these weren't designed runs (I didn't check those). To my untrained eye, Sankey's wiggle looks like it is going to translate over as he made a few folks miss on his limited carries and got more than was blocked. I just don't understand the 3 to 1 ratio of passing to running, especially when you have a backup QB in the game. I'm not so sure Whitehurst was going to beat the Colts last Sunday anyway, so why not run the ball and take clock away from Luck?

Watched all of Sankey's runs this year just now and I'm impressed. He's finds a crease and darts through the hole, has the agility to bounce it outside (had a Shady-like cut to gain 18 yards against the Bengals), not going down easy, and looks comfortable as a receiver.

He also had a 22 yard run against the Bengals called back for holding.

I can't see why they would not let him loose. Greene offers very little; a plodder who is not a masher (kind of like me when I played hockey...small and slow...bad combination). I also like the point made about the Browns' rookies coming to town. No one wants to be shown up, and I think human nature may rear its head on this one, and we'll see more of Sankey.

I'll throw this out too. Locker sucks. All the other teams know that Locker sucks. Wizzie inherited him and has tried to use him, but he sucks. Most people here in Nashville are wanting to see how Messy shows up. Whitehurst didn't do crap. As long as we have no QB, lines will be stacked. Sankey has been the only one to go through the lines, but, oh year Wizzy sucks too. I've chosen the wrong RB for the Titans in the past two weeks, and I listen to all the reports here. Yeah, I'm starting Sankey this week, but good luck to see what happens.

Will he or will he not get the touches this week. I'm thinking about starting him in my flex over Hopkins, Garcon, and Joique.

Wisenhunt has been quite awful as a head coach. He found some success when he had Warner in Arizona and then as an offensive coordinator with Rivers last year in San Diego. But overall he is 46-54 as a head coach.

There are a couple of issues with the Titans right now. First they are not running the ball enough and secondly it appears they are reluctant to give the ball to Sankey due to some trust/footwork issues.

I am trying to not let fantasy bias take over here, but Sankey clearly looks like the most complete and best RB on that roster by an extremely large margin. He possesses big play ability, receiving ability and is the only guy that looks quick and fluid in the running game. Wisenhunt will have little choice but to see what the rookie can do as he is earning more playing time.

Now it is hard to question a coach who is with his players at practice, in meetings etc, but it seems evident to most that Sankey will start to get more burn earlier in games.

Right, I'm buying in on what you guys are saying in this thread. Trying to engineer a C Patterson ---> Sankey trade.

Realistically, the Titans have to do both of the following going forward...

1) run the ball more than they have been

2) give the ball to Sankey more than they have been

right ?

Bishop Sankey - RB - Titans

Coach Ken Whisenhunt said Bishop Sankey will likely get more reps than he has all season against the Browns this week.

"You will see (more reps for Sankey). That's coming," Whisenhunt said. "And I think you'll see more of that earlier in the game this week." Sankey has actually led the Titans' running backs in snaps the past two weeks with 22 and 29, respectively, but they've been coming in the second half when the Titans have been getting plastered on the scoreboard. Whisenhunt is finally realizing Shonn Greene and Dexter McCluster aren't good. Sankey has managed 127 yards and one touchdown on 19 touches the past two weeks. Cleveland has allowed the second-most fantasy points to opposing running backs. Sankey has RB2 upside.

It's happening!

Grabbed him after the drafting owner gave up on him after week 2. He will start for me this week and just in time with all the injuries and bye weeks happening. Hopefully Locker returns to accurately gauge his effectiveness.

I remember reading that Wiz might take a while to give this guy a chance. When someone dropped him I figured I would pounce (only after holding onto Chris Johnson too long). Glad to see he might get a chance here.

FYI....was dropped in my ten team league by an owner hurting due to byes. If I didn't already have a stable of average RBs (D Will, K Robinson, Taliaferro, P Thomas, S Jackson) I would probably pick him up.
keep us updated.

Thanks for the heads up.

Thanks for your opinion of these posts, keep me updated.

Did you want more Bishop Sankey? Because that's what we're going to get

Bishop Sankey arrived in the NFL as the top running back selected in his draft class, a rookie of great interest to the fantasy community. Back in May, it seemed as if Sankey had an unobstructed path to a serious workload in Tennessee. His primary rival for carries, after all, was the lumbering husk of Shonn Greene.

Here we are in October, however, and Greene has actually out-carried Sankey 33 to 24, out-snapping him 67 to 66. But the rookie has averaged 5.1 yards per tote on the season (5.9 over the last two weeks), so it's not as if he's struggling.

Still, Titans head coach Ken Whisenhunt has found reasons to limit Sankey's workload, which of course is his prerogative. Finally, Whiz has reached the point where he'd like to lean a bit more on his second-round RB.

This from The Tennessean's John Glennon:

"You will see [more reps for Sankey]. That's coming," Whisenhunt said on the show. "And I think you'll see more of that earlier in the game this week."

"There's only so much that a young guy, you can throw on his plate, because you want him to continue on this curve where he is improving and getting better," Whisenhunt said. "He's made strides and done some of the things we've asked him, and in turn, he's going to get more reps and they're going to be earlier in the game."

Good news all around for Sankey investors.

Tennessee's schedule in the weeks ahead is extremely running back-friendly, as the team will face Cleveland, Jacksonville, Washington and Houston over its next four games. At present, those defense rank 29th, 25th, 8th and 24th against the run. So Sankey will have an excellent shot to justify the summer hype. He was an enormously productive collegiate player at Washington, despite running behind an occasionally sketchy O-line. (His tape from 2012 was particularly impressive, when you consider the line play.)

At the moment, Sankey is still available in 36 percent of Yahoo leagues, so a few thousand of you can still make the add. You obviously do not want to own multiple shares of the Titans offense, but this one is worth a try.

Things are setting up for a breakout:

Via Rotoworld-----Jake Locker - QB - Titans
Jake Locker (wrist) expects to play Sunday against the Browns.
Locker returned to practice Wednesday and was throwing with "no issues." Barring a setback, he should return after missing last week's start against the Colts. Locker will be just a low-end QB2 option.

Source: Associated Press

CJ? K has looked so bad, and with Ivory taking over, I dropped him and picked Sankey up last week who was dropped by the manager who drafted him in the 5th round.

Jake Locker couldn't be the Best Man in a whorehouse with a fist full of twentys..

Browns coming off the bye will have found a way to gang up on the run,and force Locker and his drab set of WR's, to beat them..

Browns should be 3-0, have played extremely well, against far superior offensive talent than these lousy Titans, so that's why their stats against the run are somewhat screwed. Ravens can run the heck out of ball, so can the Steelers. Saints are decent as well, with a strong passing game.now you play the Titans and Whiz's cutesy, dink-n-dunk offense? this should be a sleepwalk game for the Browns..

I wouldn't break out the annointing oils just yet..

Huh? Because these RBs ran well against the Browns, they have "superior offensive talent?" That's an interesting take on it.

I'm sure everyone looked at the Ravens after last year, minus Ray Rice, with their de facto #1 RB out, having to rely on an untested rookie and a career back-up COP style RB as big running threats. But because they ran well against Cle, you say they had "superior offensive talent."

Mark Ingram was "this close" to being labeled a bust before this season, and Khiry Robinson had played in 9 whole games prior to the Cleveland game, but because they ran all over the Browns, you claim they have "superior offensive talent?"

The fact is that the Browns suck against the run so far. You can try to spin it all you want, but they suck against the run so far. That doesn't mean that they will suck against the run this Sunday, but they have sucked against the run to this point.

THE LAUNCHING OCCURS ON SUNDAY!

Look at these three runs - feel free to send/pm these links to Matt Waldman, Cecil Lammey, and Sigmund Bloom as well.

They ALL don't think that he is special!!!

After watching those the first RB that came to mind for me was Emmit Smith....very similar build and running style IMO.Thanks for posting those!
