****Official Black Friday, Cyber Monday and Online deals thread**** (2 Viewers)

OK...so leave it to my father to ask me about getting a good deal on a laptop for my mom a week after black friday/Cyber monday.

so anyway....looking to replace my on's old acer (I think) laptop. She needs too to browse the web, save photos on and play sill games like solitaire and other old people games. Looking to spend around $500

Doesn't want to do the chrome books or anything where she needs to save things to the cloud or anything different that would confuse her...they old.

Any recommendations?

My lenovo hasn't let me down yet, this is a yoga so she can treat it like a tablet or a traditional laptop.  Small and light enough for an older lady to handle easily.

she a grandma of 6 grandkids. She has lots of photos. I don't think there is enough onboard memory for all her photos.

I really like the Chromebooks, but I think the whole 'cloud thing' freaks her out. I bought her 2 years of back up last christmas  and she's still unsure where all that goes.

I do like the ones that have the touch screen/removable tablet models. Saw one that flipped into an A-frame so she could prop it up to watch movies on when she needs to .
Just get an external HDD

Anyone seen any good deals/recommendations  on a chromebook lately? Looking to spend 200-300 or so for my daughter. Been looking since November but nothing's jumped out. I know a couple were mentioned in here but missed out.

Newegg has tons of chrome/netbooks for right around 200.  I saw some for 190.

Fire TV slashed to 54.99 today on Amazon!  Had picked one up last week at 69.99. Did customer support chat to inquire about the price change and they credited my account the $15 difference :pickle:

I ended up grabbing the previous version to this one last summer and am very pleased.  Always been a  fan of Asus.  Love the flip screen and use as laptop or tablet.

I picked up a roomba from Costco and it's pretty cool. It is having trouble finding its home though. Anyone have this issue? I push dock and it just wanders around

My 8yo is always asking for our phones or iPads to play games and watch shows. I currently have a Fire HD 8 in my shopping cart for $49.99. Worth it for a kid?

Yeah, they can play tower games and watch streaming services.  That's pretty much what iPads are use for anyway.

Beware the google v amazon war. I’m not sure of the current status, but if YouTube is a priority (almost certainly is for kids), it may not be available on an amazon device anymore. My son just turned 13, has a kindle but uses his iPod much more often. I’ve no idea why. He uses his kindle mostly to stream music. Daughter 6 uses kindle constantly.  Neither borrows my iPad anymore.

Does anyone have a favorite site to find the latest good deals on TVs?  Ours is crapping out.
I highly recommend TCL tvs, I've had 3 now and they've all been great.

Costco has them on sale right now.

Sometimes Amazon temporarily lowers their TCL prices to match Costco.

Another vote for TCL...they have a built in Roku too. Also the are highly regarded in the gaming community due to cost and low input lag.

Thanks, guys.  I ended up getting the 55S4 from Costco for $360 or $370 - can't remember which.

Wirecutter also recommended TCL.  First impressions are good.

Are these a legit good tv? Need one to put in my basement for the kids.
TCLs are definitely legit. I think they're the best of the off brand TVs. I've had three of them and no problems with any of them.

I always find it funny when ads are “leaked.” ? Umm, they’re advertisements!

Walmart or Target Exec: “Do NOT let these sale items be known to the public until after the sale period is over!”

I'll be looking for the Ring doorbell and Blink XT security system deals this year. And, of course, the obligatory big screen TV deals, because who doesn't need another 55" TV somewhere in the house?

ETA: Xbox One S or X

I would like to purchase a super automatic espresso maker. Anyone have one they would recommend? Jura? Delonghi?

Also a new tv for the bedroom, the ole plasma is on its last legs.
