I'm strongly pro life, but I voted for a pro choice candidate for president in the recent election because I agreed with that candidate more on other issues.  Am I now a hypocritical sham?  Just trying to understand the ground rules regarding sham-ness.

Trump is backing off some of his promises because he needs to heal the division.  Of course, he realizes the limitation of the Presidency, but I like that he cares about what all Americans want, and not only his own supporters.

There are many different things which can be done to fix each problem, but one thing Trump and Congress will decide is where and how to use the budget.  I am looking to see some changes there.

Instead, you're just going to get a repeat of W's first few years.  Massive tax cuts for the wealthy and a push to privatization.  Debt will rise sharply.

And if Trump ran his Presidency as if he  "cares about what ALL Americans want" he would have lost.  Sure gays, muslims, immigrants, blacks, LGBT folks weren't part of his America during the campaign, because he had to sell his core supporters they were all that mattered.

Obstructed by his own party?  Interesting take.  2 years unfettered access with both houses, including a short period of a filibuster proof ( 60 seat ) senate.  Let's not rewrite history.

Look, I voted for Bernie in the Primaries and not at all crying she isn't in. But yes not pleased a 5 year old is now President elect. All of them. Obama attempted to close Gitmo 7.5 years later. It would not have been broken if he has succeeded. None of these promises are broken until the timer expires. Also he made no promises in the first place so there is that.
