Seems to be uncertainty about who will be involved beyond Axl and Slash. If after Axl's whoring of the band name, they hype up a reunion and it's just those two... :lmao:

I like the idea of the trailer before The Force Awakens. Imagine Oats all geared up with the popcorn in his lap, super size Coca Cola, Goobers double-holstered, etc and he's checking into his supplements thread while waiting for the trailers to run and then....dede de dede....dede de dede...<scooby grunt, raises eyebrow and looks up> dede de dedededededede <axl screech> little oats goes ten hut, down goes the popcorn, oats passes out. </scene>

With the state of excitement for Star Wars already at critical mass, that trailer might have put a few people down.

Duff will sign on instantly, he's not going to miss this tour. Adler and Sorum are on record they would want to play together, maybe Adler on the AfD and Sorum for UYI tracks. Sounds goofy but people would love to see both of them.

You think it's simply a matter of whoever wants in will be welcome? Please. Axl owns the name and probably only needs Slash to pull off the money grab.

Zero interest in seeing this. Do I really want see them play the Appetite album plus varying Illusion cuts ? Not really. As mentioned before, much of Appetite has been played to death, so much so I rarely if very listen to the album anymore.

I'll keep the memory of seeing them in June of '91 in Toronto. Half the setlist was from the not-yet released Illusion albums. Axl reading off the GO train schedule for those who had the leave early to get home to the 'burbs. Good times.

Sorum on drums. Richard fortus on guitar. Wonder if they will play any of CD. There are some songs on there that are still pretty good (title track, better)

Apparently there was a surprise show at the Troubadour in West Hollywood last night??  Anyone check it out?

righetti just forwarded some pics he must have found online

Set list was awesome. 2 songs from democracy, one original from illusion, three covers, and most of appetite. Sign me up.

Otis, Righetti, and Co. (6 total) in for the $285 seats at Met Life stadium this summer.  Can't wait.

I had my finger nervously over the button to buy the $900 seats on the floor a few rows back from the stage.  Dangerously close, only didn't buy them because you could only buy 2, and I wanted to hang out with all my GBs.

But boy, still a bit tempted...

I was offered front row and backstage passes for tonight's concert in Vegas but had to pass.  Lame.

Have fun.

Got 4 for the New Orleans show this morning.  Might have an opportunity for backstage passes, but I'm not sure I want to go back there.  It's my wife's favorite band though, so we'll see.

Just saw Axl broke his foot and is in a cast. Can't put much weight on it.

Says they set up the stage to accommodate his limited movement. I'm glad they didn't cancel since we came out here for the show.

Waiting for the doors to open before heading over.........

i'm a sucker. in for the ford field show on 6-23. GnR show #7.

i hope AiC is part of the main tour

THAT

WAS

#######

AWESOME

Alice in Chains finished at 10:35, lights went dark at 11:58. We left 2  1/2 hours later - great ####### show!

Most of Appetite with something from all of the others as well. Axl still has the voice. Looked kinda goofy sitting on his big-### throne the whole time but it didn't matter.

Guns N' ####### Roses indeed.

GnR was one of my all time favs growing up, seen them many times back in the late 80s-early 90s. I was hoping this would be awesome and I want to give it a chance but the little footage I have seen has been terrible. Slash can play, Duff can play, Axle can belt it out but the chemistry looked terrible. Maybe they can iron it out but it looked closer to what Motley Crue has been doing the last 10-15 years than what Rock n Roll legends should look like.

I also thought it was super lame they didn't do arenas vs stadiums. The ego to assume they could sell them out easily was a lot to swallow. They even have 2-3+ days in between in case they want to stack more shows I guess. Broken ankle and they haven't even gotten started. Rose is about 100 lbs more than when he was the band leader in 1987.

I was ready for a possible arena tour but I'm not paying $500 to go stand in the Orlando Citrus Bowl in the middle of July/Aug in 99.9% humidity with my closest 50,000 friends, that sounds miserable, I'll catch the DVD if they still even make them.

I wanted to be excited but the old man in my head is screaming "SUCKER!"

Was following the AiC portion on periscope and saw they got off at 10:35 after playing Would.

What did you do for an hour and a half while you waited?    I'm on East Coast Time

how was that T-Mobile theater?

Sat around and had a couple of $13 beers. We talked to the guy next to us who bought our leftover ticket on Stubhub. He was from Santa Cruz and came out for the show.

We liked the arena - hopefully they get an NHL team because it would be great to catch a game sometime when we come back. We're staying at Monte Carlo and you can't beat walking across the street to the arena. Our seats were in lower 9 row B and we though they were pretty good.

We flew in from Dallas on Thursday to give ourselves a day to adjust to the 2-hour time difference. We powered through a late night Thursday so we'd be ready for another late one last night. Yes, we're old.

My wife who is not a big GNR or AIC show is dreading tonight, she's happy for me but would rather be anywhere, especially considering it won't start till 3am EST.

I, on the other hand, am so pumped   I will probably take a nap today since I was up at 4am Vegas time today

Apparently the jungle does bring you to your knees. Huh.

We also took a nap in the afternoon. My wife is not a huge GNR fan but enjoyed the show.

Have fun!

Rock & Roll came alive last night after nearly 25 years of walking aimlessly through the dark forest with no direction but finally all things were lined back up again.  Somehow the greatest living rock band made a 15,000 person arena feel intimate, maybe because the fans wanted so badly to have it happened or maybe because they just bring that vibe.

There were some surprises and that is what has always made Rock & Roll great but what weren't surprises was what makes Rock & Roll

The surprises included Sebastian Bach coming out for My Michelle and the boys rocking to The Who's Seeker and that doesn't even include the fact that Axl actually made it on stage early.

They went on right after 11pm, which was amazing considering Alice In Chains didn't finish till about 10:20pm.  Axl was awesome his voice sounding better than it did in his heyday even if he couldn't move.  Duff was great and we loved the fact they give him a couple of punk songs but the difference is Slash, he IS Guns N' Roses.

Forget Zakk Wylde, or Buckethead or Bumblefoot or DJ Azra or DJ Jazzy Jeff of whoever they've had. Those guys were good  technically but there is no comparison.  Truthfully, comparing them isn't even fair because these are Slash's songs, they were just playing them but he will forever own them.

Even Richard Fortes the other guitarist they have now is awesome, but Slash is unreal and he is Guns N Roses as much as Axl if not more.   He rips for almost three straight hours, he never stops, he brings it the entire show and it isn't just technically awesome but it's melodic and powerful.

They played everything starting with It's So Easy and going through the full repertoire including Jungle, Brownstone, You Could Be Mine, Estranged, November Rain, Sweet Child and Coma.  They gave you some new stuff, they gave you some awesome covers and they gave you Slash doing The Godfather theme leading into the Star Spangled Banner as he channeled the greatest guitarist of them all

Nothing rocked more than Rocket Queen.  Nightrain and Brownstone were incredible and an encore with Don't Cry and Paradise City can't be beat although Sebastian Bach headbanging duet of My Michelle was close in that it was his first time sharing a stage with GNR since 1991.  But at the end it was about hearing Appetite played 3/5 of the original lineup.   We didn't miss Steven but we did miss Izzy who was the architect behind a lot of GNR's Magic, but that had always been more apparent in the studio than in concert because there, you just need Axl and you need Slash

So there we have it, nearly 25 years later, all thing were right again.  Let's just hope they can keep it together till East Rutherford in July.

So this is straight out of the Grohl book from the summer. The throne and light arrangement behind him and thats a FF logo behind him, right? Something to do with the MTV awards when Nirvana won and Grohl was going hi Axl hi axl as a megaphone f u. Odd.
There's a long history, isn't there? Axl told Cobain to shut Courtney Love up, there's an NW connection; nothing surprising about Axl's grudges, really.

Axl thanked Grohl on stage on Saturday and commented how awesome the throne was.

In a weird way, it helped his voice I think.  He wasn't running around so he was able to keep focused on the vocals.

I just caught the clip of Patience from Friday night, my only minor gripe about Saturday was that they didn't play that although we did get Double Talking Jive and Don't Cry
