From goThanks for the info. I think I saw that Fauci downplayed the chances of this drug solving the problem too.

Birx gone, Fauci there? Just seems to me he gets a time out when he says something on cnn that's not liked.Yes
Not as often as Dr Fauci but there have been days when neither was there
I get why people are annoyed at this, but I am unsure what their course of action should have been. If they said "face covers" people would have hoarded the #### out of any and all masks. Healthcare workers struggle enough now as it is, I can't imagine the horror if every citizen was told to use a face cover. And yes, I know that face cover would not have to be a medical grade mask, but zero chance a large majority of the populace would take it as anything but "I need a N95 mask now".LOL...CDC recommends "face cover" as new facts shows the virus can be spread by speaking.
Gotta stick with the truth. Anything less puts doubt into everything else they say and recommend.I get why people are annoyed at this, but I am unsure what their course of action should have been. I honestly can’t recall days when he’s there but Dr Birx is not, but I’m more attuned to the days he won’t be around. It’s often known several hours in advance (from Twitter accounts I follow.)Birx gone, Fauci there? Just seems to me he gets a time out when he says something on cnn that's not liked.
If they knew, I can’t say I agree with lying to protect inventory. It’s impossible to say how many people have been infected because we were specifically told we didn’t need to wear a mask.I get why people are annoyed at this, but I am unsure what their course of action should have been. *sigh*My rural county in NY is a little over 100 positives now.
My 19 year old son had played pickup football regularly with his group of friends (Pre CV) over the last few years, over summers and during college breaks, etc.
He got a text yesterday to get together for a game. We strongly advised against it (and would have explicitly said no had it come to that). He’s a pretty intelligent rational kid and agreed. Found out today that his group did get together and play. Usually 10-12 kids. Most all these kids are back from college so, while it’s been a few weeks, still no idea what kind of contacts these kids have had.
I don’t think people out here are taking this at all seriously. We live on one of the primary N-S arteries connecting the rural communities to the rest of the world. Doesn’t appear to be less traffic at all. I recognize many vehicles going back and forth multiple times. I’m not sure what the parents of these kids who got together to play football were thinking.
I just have to say: the way this weaved through this thread to a possible conclusion is inspirational. Gave me a good laugh today.Might not need a new board after all:
I would bet the parts dealer that sells the igniter would have one of these, too. Just need to find out where this part is and hope it's not too hard to access and get tools around.
EDIT: Bah ... the manual doesn't even mention "oven sensor" or "sensor" :( Gotta keep Googling, maybe check YouTube.
He's mostly on CNN from what I've seen. He will state what he thinks there while not always in the pressers. When someone points it out he says look, this is what I know/think. I'll watch him on CNN especially if he seemed to be careful at the presser. I feel bad for him. He's beat and seems to walk on eggshells at times at the pressers.I honestly can’t recall days when he’s there but Dr Birx is not, but I’m more attuned to the days he won’t be around. I rarely if ever watch CNN, but I often search YouTube to see if there are any new interviews with Dr Fauci. He does quite a few and is not shy about contradicting the President.
He also knows how valuable he is to the nation and his remarks are couched in the language of deference. It’s quite admirable - he does submit yo bring obsequious but he also doesn’t cross the line of being disrespectful.
I was up at Niagara on the Lake last year. It was way the #### better than Niagara Falls. God that place sucksit is absolutely mind melting for me to drive around my tourist town of niagara on the lake, and not see a single car. absolutely, positively unheard of.
i cant get over it. the occassional person walking their dog... but the entire economy of this place is tourism (wine, beer, food, theater)... and all the farmers who employ thousands of migrant workers, are 100% #### out of luck with the border lockdown.
the price of produce, if any is even produced, will be insanity when this is all done
the falls is a cesspool. the falls themselves are nice to see, and there's some decent restaurants and elite strip clubs... but overall, a dirthole that anyone in ontario avoids at all costsI was up at Niagara on the Lake last year. Seriously. It is pretty clear that the guidance we were given was an attempt not to cause a run on masks, which in retrospect is laughable because masks that consumers have access to had already been all bought out and supply chains were wrecked before we got any guidance that masks don't help.Gotta stick with the truth. Anything less puts doubt into everything else they say and recommend.
Or maybe not nearly as many people would have it so there wouldn’t be nearly the need for healthcare workers to have them.I get why people are annoyed at this, but I am unsure what their course of action should have been. Erin Burnett completely falling apart with this grieving wife on now. 42 year old husband. So sad.One thing I like about CNN is hearing how people are trying to cope with their loss. It's sad and I wind up crying but it makes the message of stay home more powerful, especially the people who were young and had no preexisting conditions.
The unfortunate part is that since we clearly couldn’t follow basic instructions, it reduces the likelihood we can open the economy up sooner.*sigh*
We’re gonna be here awhile.
Think I’m gonna start binging Chernobyl tonight.
Yep, I cried too. And some students with messages to his wife, powerful. People who aren't taking this disease seriously should put politics aside and watch what it's like out there on CNN.Erin Burnett completely falling apart with this grieving wife on now. 42 year old husband. So sad.
I watched the Federal presser yesterday for the first time in 7-10 days. I get enough snippets from here & Twitter to get the gist of it.He's mostly on CNN from what I've seen. You think the Canadian side of the Falls is ####ty, take a drive through the NY side sometime.....the falls is a cesspool. the falls themselves are nice to see, and there's some decent restaurants and elite strip clubs... but overall, a dirthole that anyone in ontario avoids at all costs
notl is just a quiet, quaint, old and elitist town (myself excluded)
Amen on the sleep thing. I should shut it off but this stuff is fascinating to me as I have always loved medicine. I'm learning a lot. One reason I'm addicted to this thread.I watched the Federal presser yesterday for the first time in 7-10 days. I get enough snippets from here & Twitter to get the gist of it.
My daily information intake is 15 minutes of Dr John Campbell in the morning and Cuomo’s daily presser. If I have time I’ll look at the NYT coverage (the Coronavirus virus section is full of data - down to the county level - and its free during the pandemic.)
Took 48 hours off from news, Twitter and here earlier this week. Probably not a coincidence I slept better those two nights than I have in months.
oh, i go over the border all the time. NF, NY is absolutely disgusting, but at least it's poverty poor... NF, ontario is pretending to be prime britney spears, but is actually shaved head spears. You think the Canadian side of the Falls is ####ty, take a drive through the NY side sometime.....
NOTL is beautiful, big fan. Are the wineries still operational or are they forced to close during this?
A friend lost her dad last Friday and her mom on Monday (they were medical workers in the U.K.) The grief is pervasive and just in general it feels foreboding in NYC. Texting with a 25 year old friend rn who is saying it feels like they’re breathing through a straw for the last two days. We have around 25-30 cases in my church - pretty much all of them from a service taping we did in a small studio 3 weeks ago tonight. One thing I like about CNN is hearing how people are trying to cope with their loss. It's sad and I wind up crying but it makes the message of stay home more powerful, especially the people who were young and had no preexisting conditions.
This is the super annoying part. Well and the fact that hospitals keep their stock so low.Seriously. It is pretty clear that the guidance we were given was an attempt not to cause a run on masks, which in retrospect is laughable because masks that consumers have access to had already been all bought out and supply chains were wrecked before we got any guidance that masks don't help.
We have no idea. We've tried telling her that this person could easily say they can't pay and there's probably nothing she can do. She says he was recommended by a friend and thinks he wouldn't do that. Will she be able to collect rent?
You still don't need to wear a mask.If they knew, I can’t say I agree with lying to protect inventory. I also went to the NY side. I didn't mention out of any respect for folks who lived near there. But yes, holy #### that is badoh, i go over the border all the time. all wineries are breweries are closed. nightmare year for them it'll be (tho breweries are offering home deliveries, maybe some wineries are as well?)
I think the only way I can go more than 3 minutes without touching my face is if my wife is sitting on itYou still don't need to wear a mask.
You need to maintain a 6-foot distance from other people, you need to wash your hands thoroughly and regularly, and you need to not touch your face.
If you do all of those things, then your chances of catching COVID-19 remain minimal.
The problem is that people simply can't (or won't) do all of those things. And that's where masks become beneficial.
but the food there is sublime (for zza, wings and such... not fine dining)I also went to the NY side. I didn't mention out of any respect for folks who lived near there. But yes, holy #### that is bad
It's a hard watch. Red eyes is the new norm for me. I was tempted to call CNN to help the lift driver who said it's too late but I have no idea if I'll be in a bind since I don't have much income. Really wish I was very rich.A friend lost her dad last Friday and her mom on Monday (they were medical workers in the U.K.) The grief is pervasive and just in general it feels foreboding in NYC. I’m glad people are becoming informed by those kind of human interest segments, but it’s the last thing I want to watch. But I do hope more Americans realize this will hit every community sooner or later.
I was listening to this. It is horribly sad.Erin Burnett completely falling apart with this grieving wife on now. 42 year old husband. So sad.
You should have called the cops. Totally serious. My rural county in NY is a little over 100 positives now.

I feel the same. I had to turn that off. Losing people you know to this virus is brutal. Can’t go comfort the families. Can’t even have a proper memorial service. The best we can do is calls and texts and set up a day where you can send them a meal. It’s a completely alternate reality, and it really sucks.A friend lost her dad last Friday and her mom on Monday (they were medical workers in the U.K.) The grief is pervasive and just in general it feels foreboding in NYC. That’s fine, but they specifically told us over and over that masks aren’t necessary. They didn’t qualify it by saying if you do this and this, they presented it as an independent action. You still don't need to wear a mask.
You need to maintain a 6-foot distance from other people, you need to wash your hands thoroughly and regularly, and you need to not touch your face.

Pretty sure he lives in Orleans County. The cops out there probably still think the virus is a hoax. You should have called the cops. Totally serious.
Behind pay wall. Any chance you could post it?
I may have saw what you watched if it was about the husband/teacher. He was 42 and didn’t seem to have any underlying issues. Very sad story. This virus scares me...One thing I like about CNN is hearing how people are trying to cope with their loss. It's sad and I wind up crying but it makes the message of stay home more powerful, especially the people who were young and had no preexisting conditions.
That's the one. CNN gives family members a chance to share, to tell us about that person. I think it's great and necessary for the families to help them get through their grief.I may have saw what you watched if it was about the husband/teacher. Big deal, that’s like 100 dollars to us.Bezos donated 100 mil to food banks. Feeding America will distribute it.
