The difference in the last attach is that the bounce back was immediate (in an hour). There is no way the shorts succeeded. Of course the price goes down in a short raid. There are more sellers than buyers. But it has to stay down in order for them to rebuy at the new low price. A couple of them might have escaped, but the majority didn't.The stock price went from $6.01 to $4.25 in a week and went from $5.24 to $4.25 in a day. If it was a shorts, they succeeded. Shorts always buy back at rock bottom because they have to cover. In fact, they create the rock bottom. The stock price always bounces back sharply from a short attack.
That's why you saw an influx of bashers on the boards immediately after. They needed the longs and day traders to sell and bring the price down so they could recover. I've often wondered if any on this board got burned in that one.
