Any predictions for how the season ends?

I'm liking the Dexter-Lumen relationship. I hope she survives into next season.

LaGuerta is back to being #####y and not getting along with Angel. I wouldn't be surprised if she ends up dead like in the book. No idea where they are going with that Santa Muerte stuff which seems to have taken a back page to the fallout between LaGuerta and Angel/Deb.

I suspect that eventually the show will have to deal with Deb finding out about her brother. I'm guessing that she finds out that Dexter was involved with the murders of the guys that attacked Lumen, but not about the rest of his serial killer side. She won't arrest her brother and will consider the killings to be justified, but will cause her to think differently about her innocent brother setting up the ultimate encounter in another season or two. Or I can be way off here. Who knows, but the show does tend to tie up loose ends by the end of each season.

Lumen kills Robocop and/or Quinn to get Dexter out of trouble.Or, Lumen takes the fall for Dexter and the Barrel Girls and dies doing so.As far as Deb & Dex, it seems pretty apparent the final episode of the series is going to deal with her having to decide to kill him or not.

I was already planning to cancel showtime after the finale but if Lumen survives and is brought back next season it will make the decision not to renew before season 6 easy.

Maddening suspension of disbelief moment 113: the "Barrel Girls" case was closed despite contrary DNA evidence in the file. It's crap like this that moves this show from top drawer status to soap opera in mere minutes. I hate when they pull crap like this.

Also, how could they close the case without arresting someone? Boyd is in little pieces floating down the gulf stream.

Anyone notice his Kidney kick didn't land?

This season seems to be pretty sloppy, but still better than a lot of shows out there, so I'll probably keep watching.

All shows do this to some degree, but for some reason, even since the beginning, it's just more apparent on Dexter. They're not as good at deftly handling these things and sweeping them into forgotten dialog. Instead, they use little things like this to turn arcs around, which only makes them more noticeable.

#114: Robocop, recently arrested by Miami Metro, is free to walk around the police station without an escort and walk out with surveillance equipment.

Before and after sex scene with no real nudity :shrug: Otherwise loved the episode.

I didn't have much of a problem with that. He's crafty and employees are used to seeing him there but most of them don't know he got busted.

Ugh. I was really hoping Dexer and Lumen were not going to become romantically involved. Their relationship as mentor/mentee was fine but I this is just too much.

What serial killer wouldn't want a serial killer girlfriend?

The second she showed up, they were going to hook up. You had to know that. I think the story line is interesting. The broader arc of Dexter becoming more human has been playing out for a while now, and Lumen clearly facilitates that. I have a feeling the show ends with him giving up killing. The admission from Harry about underestimating him points in that direction. I think Julia Stiles will stick around until the show ends.

She doesn't make it to next season. She gets fingered by Deb for the "vigilante" murders, but Deb lets her go. That forces Lumen's move back to Minn.
Oh god yes.But I agree with Pickles.
:thumbup: But I think Lumen takes the fall for Dexter- either by dying or going to prison.

I don't see Dexter giving this up- it ends with a showdown between him and Deb.

I think she is done this season.

Dexter: I got you some brand new gloves to wear when you murder your first victim.

Lumen: Hey, these are the same type of gloves you've chopped 70+ bodies up with!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Lumen: Wow. Those are prettiest shiniest knives I've ever seen!
Dexter: Only the best for my girl friends first murder!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Lumen: Does this kill outfit make me look fat?

Dexter: Noway, babe. Those look like the perfect threads to murder the hell out of someone in!

Put me down in the pro-Lumen category.

All of the foreshadowing seems to be pointing to Deb finding out that Lumen is involved in the murders. I think one way or another, this season end with Deb learning the truth about Dexter.

Just saw the actress who plays Deb- seen her a few times in the last year or two, so I'm guessing she lives in the neighborhood.

She's tall. Big horse-mouth. But not unattractive when bundled in winterish clothes. Her body on the show freaks me out.

I heard she can unhinge her jaw like a python too.

If she lives in your neighborhood, so does Michael C. Hall. They're married.

I don't get the basic plot of this season.

Are they trying to retire Dexter and make Lumen the central character? Or perhaps Dexter stops actually killing and sends Lumen out to do the work?

I don't really buy Julia Stiles as the central character going forward but that's the rumor I have heard.

Did the rumor also say they were going to change the title of the show to "Lumen"? Because otherwise this doesn't make any sense.

Dunno why I laughed... but this is what made the show jump the shark for you? I feel like just about every episode since the 2nd season is shark-jumping worthy... but it's still a fun watch.

Dude I hope they don't continue this Lumen story for much longer - but it seems very possible now that her and Dex had a night together.If anyone knows where this is going please let me know. The Lumen plot is ok but overall i wish they would move on.

The premise of the entire show is a little corny if you want to really look at it for what it is. I don't think the Lumen story is any more corny. Rita as a wishy washy, passive-aggressive enabler was a little hard to stomach at times, and yet this is what you decide to nitpick? Yeah, okay chief.

The premise of the show really isn't corny. Sure it's had some cheesy moments in the past but nothing compares to the Lumen story line. To top it all off they cast the worst possible actress to play her. Julia Stiles ain't hot and can't act.

You're looking pretty dumb here, Mao.

Not really, pickles. I'm not the one that's bashing the premise of the entire show(which is fantastic btw) to justify a weak storyline.
