This show is losing me. The gimmick is starting to wear thin.

It's always been thin. The formula has been repeated so often that it's just more apparent now.

Totally agree. Oh look, Dexter found yet another serial killer residing in his backyard! Oh noes, he almost got caught! Let's kill some lesser baddies along the way, and at the end of the year the real villain is a goner. Add in a couple moments of Dexter whining about his emotions (or lack thereof) and that's a wrap!They dropped the ball a couple seasons ago...they should have introduced some bad guy who lasted more than 1 year. Let Dexter truly be outmatched and struggle to outsmart his opponent. A joker to his batman, Moriarty to Sherlock, etc.

I hear what you're saying, but should Dexter NOT find a serial killer in his backyard? Let's have him do a lot of analysis and have extended scenes of him with Harrison, Astor, and Cody.And they may still do what you suggest in the second paragraph.. for the past couple seasons, I assumed it was because Smits, Lithgow, etc.. weren't going to sign on to do multiple seasons of a cable show, but I imagine they would entertain this thought in the future.

Not sure I love the way they resolved the Lumen situation. One second they are like two peas in a pod and overnight she cleanses herself of the whole situation? It was like she had a drunken one night stand and then woke up and sobered up.

Also, unless Dexter and Lumen carried the red car away after the crash, that would still be left behind at the camp. I'm guessing in reality there would be stuff tying Dexter to the car . . . even if it's just the fact that it was stolen from the Liddy crime scene. As for Liddy, the cops would still listen to his voicemail messages and have Quinn's message to him. And Quinn also would have to explain why/how he signed out the surveillance equipment. Just like Deb would have to explain why there is a bullet in the wall at a crime scene at the camp. What was she shooting at . . . a spider?

Still entertaining, but as others have mentioned, more holes than a case of Swiss cheese.

Add me to the list of wanting more from Finale.Not liking how the bad guy always has Dexter in his possession and somehow Dexter still has a knife always and kills him without any suspense at all.Why cant the writers come up with something clever or at least let Chase run away to be a nemesis Dexter has to still battle next year while Dexter is battling a new nemesis as wellI wouldnt be shocked to see them bring Lumen back next year at some point especially since her episodes were the highest rated ones this season

did not like the finial, it was predictable. I think Deb should of found out about Dexter, my wife says she knows in the books

They left it intentionally ambiguous, but Deb did say to Dexter at the end of the episode that she was happy and that [Dex] "must be too..... now that this is all over." The way she kind of smiled and walked away after that led me to believe that she may suspect Dexter was that guy, and maybe that's why she never looked behind the curtain at the camp - she didn't want to know for sure.

I got that same impression. Plus with Lumen suddenly disappearing after Chase was killed has to pique her interest some.

Of course it was extra convenient that Deb didn't look behind the curtain but that was expected - there will eventually be a time where Deb will face Dexter.

Also interesting that Quinn told Dex "I owe you one" - could play out at some point.

He has to know he killed Robo, but he also knows Robo was shady.

Agree pretty much.IMO, it was more bizarre/implausible that she could so easily turn into a serial killer in the first place ("easily"... yeah, she was imprisoned and gang-raped, so there's that).

Agree pretty much.IMO, it was more bizarre/implausible that she could so easily turn into a serial killer in the first place ("easily"... yeah, she was imprisoned and gang-raped, so there's that).

What Macdaddy said is the entire point. The whole story was about "how they were now the same", but in reality, Lumen was never the same. She wanted the people very specifically who harmed her dead, but was not - and was never - a "serial killer".

Dexter is a serial killer plan and simple, he has killed at least 3 innocent people off the top of my head. i hope they do not try and make him into a good guy/hero but I have a feeling that is the road they are taking. love the show but I think it has run its course

My guess is that the writers left it intentionally vague so that they could go either way with it in the next season.

If I were a betting man, I'd say they're going to have her find out eventually (probably at the end of the series.) They put that seed there so that they have the option of either germinating it in season 6 or just letting it drop until they decide it's the final season and can pick it up from there. Just my guess, though.

This is what I'm thinking too.I enjoy Dexter but I'm really hoping that there's only one or two more seasons left and that this is the endgame, or that they'll have her find out but somehow keep the show going after that. Every season that Deb- a homicide detective, and supposedly a good one at that- doesn't put the pieces together strains my suspension of disbelief a little more. It's pretty close to breaking at this point.

Just got thinking yesterday, what's the media going to do with the Jordan Chase murder?

"This just in to the newsroom--well known motivational speaker Jordan Chase was found murdered earlier today. Initial reports are sketchy, it seems he ran some sort of Rape & Murder Club at an abandoned sleepaway camp, but one of the girls managed to get out of her shackles, kill Jordan, and escape. The sleepaway camp was owned by a "Eugene Greer", which may be one of Jordan Chase's aliases. A search of a house belonging to a "Eugene Greer" earlier today turned up a woman's dead body.

And now, over to Skip with sports..."

I mean, a vigilante rape victim is going to cause a media sensation, no? Books, TV movies, etc.? Oprah?

At the very least, Quinn has to figure it out next season. I mean, he knows that1) There was a vigilante two whole years ago that went around slicing up killers, putting them in garbage bags, and dumping them in the harbor.2) There's a vigilante out there now killing another set of murderers. I enjoy Dexter but I'm really hoping that there's only one or two more seasons left and that this is the endgame, or that they'll have her find out but somehow keep the show going after that. Every season that Deb- a homicide detective, and supposedly a good one at that- doesn't put the pieces together strains my suspension of disbelief a little more. It's pretty close to breaking at this point.

At the very least, Quinn has to figure it out next season. I mean, he knows that1) There was a vigilante two whole years ago that went around slicing up killers, putting them in garbage bags, and dumping them in the harbor.

2) There's a vigilante out there now killing another set of murderers. Probably accompanied by a tall skinny blonde chick.

Oh, Quinn knows something huge is going on, but I think they used Dexter falsely clearing him of any wrongdoing as a device which will justify his remaining mute on the subject.ETA : Dex also caught Quinn stealing from a crime scene once and didn't rat him out, so there's even more of a foundation for Quinn to stay quiet.

Quinn is in love plowing into his man lady Deb. Why would he care that her brother is a psychotic Serial Killer who he has suspected for years?I still enjoy Dexter but my problem was recently watching the Shield and seeing more or less how a police Captain has to answer to the higher ups on screw ups. The amount of screw ups Laguerta has been doing and still no flack from the department is laughable

Initial reports are sketchy, it seems he ran some sort of Rape & Murder Club at an abandoned sleepaway camp, but one of the girls managed to get out of her shackles, kill Jordan, and escape. The sleepaway camp was owned by a "Eugene Greer", which may be one of Jordan Chase's aliases. A search of a house belonging to a "Eugene Greer" earlier today turned up a woman's dead body.

And now, over to Skip with sports..."

I mean, a vigilante rape victim is going to cause a media sensation, no? Books, TV movies, etc.? Oprah?

Dexter is a serial killer plan and simple, he has killed at least 3 innocent people off the top of my head. i hope they do not try and make him into a good guy/hero but I have a feeling that is the road they are taking. love the show but I think it has run its course

He is a good guy, IMO. Having a thirst for killing people doesn't necessarily make him a bad guy. They are trying set it up where he can live a normal life, which I think is reasonable since serial killers tend to slow down or stop killing altogether as they get older.

He has to know that Dexter was involved with the Chase killings and Robocop, but if things work out with Deb he might just let it go. I don't take Quinn as a serious cop anyway, so him looking the other way over the murders of some bad guys isn't that much of a stretch. He blew off Robocop after he gave him the photos so we know he values Deb over finding out what's going on with Dexter.
