Just finished Season 5. It was ok, but my least favorite season so far. (4,2,1,3,5)

Is Season 6 better?

Not really. It's taken a turn for the really strange. Also the formula is getting a bit stale. A lot of us saw the "twist" coming from the very beginning.

I'm actually a little excited about this season. The formula's gotten stale, but the development at the end of last season has been a long time coming. At least now we get to get on with that part of the series.

Whether it's executed well or not is another story, but I'm interested to see what happens.

I'm ready for this series to end.
:goodposting: Really liked this early on, and with most great shows you leave the series finale WANTING more, I am at the point where it needs to end respectfully.I think they are signed on for a S7 obv and a S8? did i read that right?

Yeah I think it was better. Not by huge leaps but a stronger season. The first four seasons were amazing, though. I still like the show a lot but it hasn't been anywhere near that good the last two seasons.

I'm coming up to the end of Season 2. First time watcher. Something is just sticking in my crawl.

Never was a big fan of the Debra Morgan character from the start (too damn abrasive for the sake of being abrasive), but there's a major plot hole that didn't sit well with me. When Dexter was dating Lila, Debra hated her guts. She really started hating her when Lila walked around naked in Dexter's apartment (which was awesome). But she starts passing judgement on Lila and neuters Dexter over it. First of all, Debra is a guest of Dexter...in Dexter's house. Shut up and accept your freeloading place of residence.

That's not what bothers me.

Now thankfully, Lila turned out to be cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs. But after Debra again reams Dexter for his choice in women, he points out that she's going after the FBI Special Agent romantically. Dexter was 100% right here. Who is Debra to judge relationships when she's trying to make whoopee with Wild Bill Hickock? (yes, I recognized him from Deadwood)

Ok, end of rant. I know Lila is destined for an underwater grave at this point, which is a shame because she was SMOKING HOT.

Oh god, if you're gonna get worked up over plot holes this small, especially regarding Deb, this might not be the show for you. They get much, much, much worse as the seasons go on.

I guess it's not really a plot hole...more like a character flaw. I tend to find small #### in movies and show that drive me bonkers. And agreed on the "pardon my t#ts" line. :lmao:But not really looking forward to future seasons based on what you're telling me.

Ok, based on what I'm reading, this show is another Weeds: a series that should have died a long time ago.

What point should I stop watching so I can have a favorable taste in my mouth over this show?

Deb thinks Lila is insane for wanting to go away with Dexter...and she now wants to run away with Wild Bill. Jesus Christ, consistency anyone?

If you can stand Julia Stiles, watch through her season, it's pretty good. But the best was John Lithgow, if you don't think you can stand Julia stop there.

Lithgow = good. Stiles = meh. We'll see. Thanks for the advice, though. Looks like I have at least two seasons to watch still before it gets stupid.

I'm still trying to figure out how that would even be considered a plot hole.

Hard to say without seeing how the remaining seasons play out. But the first four seasons are magnificent; fourth season in particular is amazing. John Lithgow is sensational and the finale ... well ... let's just say it's quite memorable. Seasons 5 and 6 have paled in comparison to the first four. We'll see how Season 7 goes. Their panel at Comic Con is being live Tweeted right now for those who may be interested.

Yeah, wrong choice of words. "Inconsistency" would be an even better term.

Ok... we re-upped with Showtime, and despite being previously "over" the show, started watching Season 6 this week.

We're 4 episodes in, and I'm finding Mos Def to be fantastic. The hammer to the face obvious side-by-side faith component of the season is... well... obvious. More subtlety would have been nice- but a show abuot the serial killing of serial killers was never really subtle to begin with. Hanks JR looks eerily too much like dad (and is over-acting far too much) but it's great to have Odama back. Especially in sweater vests and cardigans.

Maybe it was a good thing to take a break from the show- I'm now enjoying it for the same things that I know had previously reached a point where it had become very tired to me.

Just finished up Season 6 and, while I liked Mos Def's character, I felt something was missing with that season compared to the others. Thought it ended VERY nicely, though.Haven't watched any of Season 7 yet, but very interested once the DVDs come out.

Ah, ok. I saw something on the Dexter Facebook page a while back and I thought it had started.Maybe I should get Showtime now. Hmm.

It was good - I'm interested to see how this plays out w/ Deb. Not sure why they need the Russian mob in this, though (another "season-long super case"?)

They need another "plausible" scape-goat for Dexter when Laguarda closes in on him. Again.

Decent start.

Gonna be a long season for all you crazy Deb-haters though. Obviously, there's going to be a lot of emotionally conflicted foul-mouthing this year.

I don't think I'd be watching this show anymore if not for her, but I know not everyone is much of a fan.

That filthy mouth is hot.

I just started watching the first season. Yeah way late to the party. I have to say it's good so far(I only got through the first 4 episodes) but you know stylistically it reminds me a lot of Burn Notice. Which I recently started catching in reruns. Anyway I have the first season on DVD via a co-worker and I am looking forward to working my way through.

I'm glad they had Deb find out the full extent of it in this episode. I was worried they were going to drag that out all season and have that final reveal to her come in the season finale.

Deb found the ITK hand in Dex's apartment before he did. Did the package it was sent from say that it was from that intern?
