***Official Dexter Thread*** (3 Viewers)

Guys, I watched every season of Dexter until last seasons. I was so fed up with the show at the end of that season (with Julia Stiles) especially the part where his sister was in the room where they killed someone but didnt want to look in the curtain, that was too much to take. I heard though that this season has been really good, so my question is, Do i have to watch the whole season 6 to enjoy this season? (FWIW, someone ruined for me last years twist that the sister finally found out)
Skip it. Nothing that happened is important (except the final scene of the season, I guess).

The last 2 seasons were clearly filling time to get to this season.
thanks, did not want to waste 12 hours on what I knew was absolute junk writing, reviews for this year are glowing about the Resurrection of this show
I skipped it too...doesn't really feel like I missed much. Maybe a little back story with the intern - I didn't really understand why he hated Dexter so much. Oh, and Deb got promoted.
yep, i caught up to these 3 episodes. Just watched the end of Colin Hanks murder. Was a bit confused about the whole Intern walking into his room thing. I guess he hooked up with the Nanny who lives there full time? Did Dexter and the nanny have a fling?

Dex and nanny did not have a fling. IIRC she has the apartment next door, and there is a door in between their apartments.

Did not know wtf that hand was in the first episode. Besides for the little catty talk between from the cop who looks like he is on crack and Bautista, looks like I didnt miss much.

The hand was the hand the Ice Truck Killer used in S1, the intern had bought it online from another hot chick intern who stole it from the evidence room.

PS was the black dude who was gunned down a recurring character last season?

He was introduced last season as a cop that came over from Chicago, so yes was re-occurring.
thanks dude, so what was up with sending Dexter the hand? was he trying to frame him for something? Also didnt understand why he was cancelling his credit cards? was it just to be a ####?
Yea, the CC was a way to eff with his life.Sending him the hand i guess was just a way to eff with him as well...i think...i dont think there was anything really behind that.
they sort of implied though there was more than just the hand, since he allegedly framed some video game dude to get the game or something
Last season, they seemed like they were setting up the intern to be a serial killer.Glad they thought better of it.

The writers admitted they didn't really have the story mapped out yet...I think they were considering having the intern know about Dexter and maybe have some tendencies for killing as well...but everyone saw it coming and poo poo'd it...so they regrouped and just killed the guy off cause no one was buying that BS.

I think the new girl who owns the nursery will get romantically involved with Dexter. We will find out it was her who actually killed all this spells years ago, and just used her boyfriend to get away with it.
What means this?
He's saying she was behind the killings...It's about the only thing that makes this interesting...which makes it uninteresting because it's so evident.

The nanny is Batista's sister, Jamie. Dexter had a nanny previously (the Irish woman), but she did not live there. Jamie moved to Miami to go to grad school and if I recall Dexter bought the unit next door and combined them so she would live there (on "her" side). She got romantically involved with the intern Louis, and thus he had "access" to Dexter's space.

I :lmao: when Dexter started making fun of the guy strapped to the table.

this!
that was great, though this episode was kind of dumb in that Dexter was caught and escapes within minutes. Dont have him get caught if he will escape a minute later, at least have him locked up for a full episode and have Horseface save him

thanks, had no idea she was related to Bautista

Same thing a couple of seasons ago. He was caught and it resolved itself quickly.

I won't be happy if this mob guy is the season long stalk for Dex. He isn't even close to as enjoyable as the Trinity, Doomsday, Ice Truck bunch

It clearly is going to be a mix of him and the new chick. I agree not a great villain but also not the usual serial killer nonsense so thats different at least.

wait, so the season that is airing right now is S7? damn, I'm gonna have to wait a while until that's on dvd. how the hell can you expect me to wait after the S6 ending?

Good to see Titus Pullo back on the small screen.

THe last scene, when Isaac is looking at the picture of him and Victor, did you interpret that as lovers, or father-son?

I thought the former, but friend argued the latter

They really should have given Dexter an arch-nemesis a few seasons back. Smits would have been a great choice - he was reckless yet connected - he could have continued murdering folks while moving up the political ladder while the two played a brutal game of cat and mouse. Without a Moriarty it just became a bland repeat. Then again I skipped the Colin Hanks season so perhaps I missed something great. This season hasn't been terrible but it's not nearly as fun as the first couple seasons. Now I find myself often leaving a new episode on my DVR for long periods of time.

i thought father son
My issue with that is, do you think that George (the strip club manager) would be so loose lipped regarding Victor if he was Isaac's son? I remember George spouting off about how Victor was a liability, etc...BUt then Victor was apparently in a relationship with the stripper...

i just figured george didnt know it was his son
Usually the boss's son doesn't hide that fact, but I suppose he could be illegitimate or something...Also, if it his son, why was the picture hidden? Meh, I guess it doens't really matter.

the dexter wiki speculated lover so you may be right

I would guess lover, why have the picture hidden. He almost seemed disgusted when talking about people in the strip club when he was talking to Dexter.

Really enjoyed episode 4. I like how this season is shaping up. The only bit of lazy writing was the whole botched Miranda scene, but other than that, pretty damn good.

Yeah, I think that would've been a good idea too, but this season has been great.Deb knowing was the step that put the show back on track. We all knew it was coming since the 1st episode of the series and the last couple of seasons felt like filler to get to this point. At some point, watching a serial killer just get away with it without anyone knowing was simply going to get old. You might say the quality of this show is always about the quality of "who knows" about Dexter. First couple seasons with his brother and then a detective knowing about him were fantastic. Not just random other killers knowing about him (or nobody at all). Lithgow made it work, but that's obviously been tough to repeat. Now, the best character on the show and Dexter's sister knows. Unless they screw it up, it's going to be greatI'm not a LaGuerta fan, but her knowing will be good for the season too.

Clearly lover. The picture was taken in Greece

I thought gay, but it could easily be father/son.

What I think is missing from making me believe Deb will so easily get behind Dexter and didn't just turn him in at the very start is some sort of explicit acknowledgement on her part that it's similar to how she let Lumen get away with it when she confronted her & Dex through the plastic sheet at the end of that season. I don't remember what her exact words to Lumen were in that scene, but, I think if there was a nod to it again now, I might buy her behavior better in this season.

The reason has always been there, but was strengthened even more last season. She loves him.

We've got different writers or production this year, right?I like how they've steered completely away from that dumb angle.

I agree it was dumb. I have no idea about whether it's new writers or not. But, I do remember seeing Deb dreaming of Dexter proposing to him. Just recently.

Deb brought up Lumen, but didn't go so far as to say out loud "It was you on the other side of that plastic sheet, wasn't it?" Thought that was weird.

Wait...what? I quit after the first season and just started back up because of proximity to Homeland. Basically just watch for the blondes. But they drifted into incest territory in prior seasons? The blonde is freaking hot.

Yvonne Strahovski is very hot.

And Dexter is screwed. Deb's going to want him to kill his new girlfriend now, and he finally found someone he might be able to share his life with (although she could always kill him.) And it looks like the Capt is closing in as well.

Suprised the check Quinn gave to Batista was dated November 19, 2011. Are these shows taped that far in advanced, it takes over a year to air? Also, who didn't know that the writer was going to get killed by her putting poison on that pen he kept on chewing.
