Official Dez Bryant (1 Viewer)

I revoked an offer this morning where I was about to offer up the 1.01 and a 2016 1st and Rueben Randle for Dez. I want to see how this plays out.
if the guy had seen the offer, and knows the rumors, he wouldnt have been able to smash the accept button fast enough, methinks
you thinky righty. Also, I would have also received the 2.02 in addition to Dez, but it doesn't matter now. I'm thankful I revoked it because at the very least wait and see what comes out of the wash.

I'll believe the screenshot stuff when it actually gets released.

As most said, too much smoke not to be fire.... The Cowboys would be doing a PR firestorm to defend Dez and THE COWBOYS if this wasn't true... Story is gaining too much steam for them to have not reacted beyond a simple "it's not true"
Funny how you chose to not use this logic with Gordon last year, but now you suddenly have a different way to look at things? Did you learn a lesson or is your bias just different?
? The situation is completely different... Not even remotely the same.

Gordon failed a test for smoking weed. Dez is in the midst of a PR nightmare w a potential video to be released (which is rumored to be 5x worse than Ray Rice)... Why arent the Cowboys defending him, but more importantly... why arent they defending their brand?

They have....They have denied that any of this exists.
incorrect.

they denied knowledge of a video existing. not that it doesnt exist or didnt happen.

so

they should deny that it is remotely p[ossible Dez was ever filmed doing anything wrong ever ever ever?

that would be moronic

no, they're just choosing their words very, very carefully...

and as we can see... Schefter just admitted this is real

Regarding the Dez Bryant video/non-video, @AdamSchefter said on ESPN 1000 today that he's been working on the story for a long time.
Yes, and he also said:

Schefter: Well listen, whatever weve been working on is not ready and maybe it never will be. Who knows?
What does that mean? So all these NFL reporters have been sitting on this story for awhile and none of them said anything? I mean do the authorities even know?

The Cowboys should at least release a statement saying they are looking into the rumors or something. Domestic violence is kind of a big deal right now.

Now that Schef has basically admitted this is "real", look for the Cowboys to get on their PR horse and ride in to battle... And not to defend Dez... To defend/protect themselves

Schef carries too much clout to ignore it now... Think they were waiting to see if anyone was gonna start spilling beans

If both Florio and Shefter are both unwilling to discuss the contents of this video even though they know at least something about what it is rumored to contain, wow. Draw your own conclusions, but this is ultra-explosive stuff whatever the content turns out to be.

I'm imagining involvement in a gang rape, snuff film, something horrific like that. I hope we're 'only' going to learn he hit someone but... wow, this is potentially very awful.

Yeah right, gang rape or snuff film inside of Wal-Mart. Film at 11:00.

It may mean the video is falsified in some way or edited in some way as to make him look like he was doing something he was not, or more than he was doing? *dart throw*

Not likely Wal-Mart... more likely a camera phone.

Seriously.... DGB is gonna get smashed for this.

COuldnt see him dropping outta the first before... but after Schef got on the horn, it's pretty likely.

Or that the person in the video can not be conclusively identified as Dez.

well, looks like the vid is out --- pretty hard to believe and definitely nsfw

guess I could spoiler tag it for the morbidly curious

they've got him on camera letting the air out of a football

Right too. Definitely some reason to tip toe around this in CYA mode. A lot of fear in the air from guys who are normally happy to fire off anything they have in terms of info. This is indeed huge, not just 'he hit his mom' stuff.

I'm guessing it's more likely nobody Shefter or Florio would use as a credible source has actually seen the video.

Both have admitted they haven't seen it, and Schefter has known of its existence for 5/6 months at least.

How Schefter say it exists with any certainty and then claim he hasn't seen it?
maybe he got to the see the screenshots?

just a shot in the dark... no idea.
Something is not adding up. How do you work on a story about a video you haven't seen? If he had seen screenshots, it was within the last few days--not in September.

This is crazy.
especially since he mentions the amount of time/work/resources that have gone into this story.

something is not adding up, but it sounds monsterous.

Many writers have stories in various stages of development that they are working on. Obviously, if they are reputable, they can't run with a just a rumor that could result in a defamation suit if they go to print without verifying that the rumor is real. Schefter has been aware of the smoke for months from reports of the video, but didn't want to report it is a fire until he had some verification of its validity.

Schefter says "yeah" when asked if he knows what's on the video.

Something tells me Schef knows much more than he let on in that video. You dont say you know if it's just a rumor from some ho-hum.

Woof. This is gonna be wild.

That makes sense. I think he's overstating his connection to the story a bit. He implies that his working on it for so long is an indication of the potential subject matter. He likely heard some rumors, put some feelers our and got nothing.

IMO he just doesn't have it sourced well enough to go with. There is probably a lot of things that point to the video's existence. Possibly even evidence of blackmail.

One thing seems very likely. Somebody really doesn't like Dez Bryant. That person seems likely to have a video incriminating him somehow. They waited until the moment when Dez has the most on the line (about to sign the contract that would make him fabulously wealthy) , and are now likely to sell the video to the highest bidder.

http://larrybrownsports.com/football/adam-schefter-confirms-dez-bryant-video-exists/256100

“I have not seen it,” Schefter said, per Kevin O’Brien of The Sun Times. “I’ll say this: I’ve been working on this since September. … There’s a lot involved.”

In other words, Schefter would not have spent nearly six months digging into the story if there was nothing there. He must have some good sources telling him that the video is more than just a rumor. Still, Schefter said he is unsure when asked if the video will ever go public.

“Well listen, whatever we’ve been working on is not ready and maybe it never will be,” he said. “Who knows? You’ve got to be very careful on these things. People can talk about videos, they can talk about this they can talk about that. The fact of the matter is, it doesn’t mean anything and it’s really not fair to him right now until you have all your facts in line. Which we spent a long time trying to do.”

So if this incident happened four years ago and a video comes out now, does everyone think he should be thrown to the wolves? Let's say he hit a woman multiple times. That is awful, of course. Having said that, Texas statute of limitations on assault and battery is two years (I think, according to some Google link). So he cannot be prosecuted. And the NFL domestic violence policy is about six months old. He should be punished now for something he did fours years ago? If so, at what point does one not get punished? What if Tom Brady beat up some girl he was seeing in 2008 and a video comes out? Should he also get punished now? Curious to hear what people think.

Of course he should and will be.

unless 2yrs has passed... then he's clearly innocent

I agree with you, it's messed up. The court of public opinion and the Twitter pitchforks will be out in full force if a video comes out of him beating his mother, and Goodell does nothing. Public pressure and in turn media scrutiny will get turned up every hour Goodell doesn't act. The AP ordeal was breaking news on every non-news outlet when that happened, same with Rice.

The precedent is Rice and AP. If a video comes out, he'll be done due to public pressure. Not the new rules agreed upon in the fall.

Working on it could mean anything... He hears a rumor, makes a few calls. That's it.

Just because the public doesnt know about it doesnt mean others are not working on something.

And schefter has said the video existed and this incident took up most of his time last year. http://orlando.sunti...video-confirmed

Carmen and Jurko: What’s going on with Dez Bryant?

Adam Schefter: That’s a very interesting question. I’ll just say this – check back with me on that one.

Carmen and Jurko: Have you heard about this video? Do you know what’s on it?

Schefter: Yeah.

Carmen and Jurko: Have you seen it?

Schefter: I have not seen it.

Carmen and Jurko: Is he doing something criminal? Can you talk about it?

Schefter: I’ll say this: I’ve been working on this since September.

Carmen and Jurko: Is it criminal?

Schefter: Like I said I’ve been working on it since September. There’s a lot involved.

Carmen and Jurko: Is this going to come out?

Schefter: Don’t know. Don’t know yet.

Carmen and Jurko: Okay. Wow. I have never heard about this until the weekend and now it’s all over the internet

Schefter: It’s taken up a lot of my time this season I’ll say that.

Carmen and Jurko: And you did it in a very clandestine way it sounds like. Did you feel like you had to?

Schefter: Well listen, whatever we’ve been working on is not ready and maybe it never will be. Who knows? You’ve got to be very careful on these things. People can talk about videos, they can talk about this they can talk about that. "betrayed" is an odd word to use....

looks like he's acknowledging that someone has something and is gonna play him with it
