Rotoworld:

LeSean McCoy - RB - Eagles

The Philadelphia Daily News' Paul Domowitch said it is 'not likely' the Eagles want to keep LeSean McCoy at his current $11.95 million cap charge.

McCoy has said he is not open to a pay cut, but a restructuring that kicked some guaranteed money down the road could work for both sides. The Eagles could also conceivably cut McCoy, but that seems unlikely at this point. McCoy averaged 4.23 YPC with just five TDs on 312 carries last season. He lost passing-down and short-yardage work to Darren Sproles and Chris Polk.

Report: Cowboys to use franchise tag on Dez Bryant

by Shawn Krest | CBSSports.com

(5:15 pm ET) The Cowboys will use the franchise tag on WR Dez Bryant on Monday, according to a report by Fox Sports Southwest.

The team has been trying to negotiate a long-term contract with Bryant, a free-agent to be. If a deal can't be made by Monday's franchise tag deadline, the Cowboys will use the tag to keep Bryant a Cowboy.

"I still think that (it) would be a stretch to think that we would have something done by Monday and beat the franchise-tag deadline," Cowboys VP Stephen Jones told Fox. "Looks like we're eyeing a franchise tag on Dez, but certainly won't stop us from working hard to get a long-term deal. ... We just don't want to lose his rights."

Bryant had 88 catches for 1,320 yards and 16 touchdowns last year.

This case is colder than Antartica. But if anyone can crack the case, its the same geniuses that handled the Ray Rice case.

Franchise just about tells me all I need to know. They could use it on Demarco and make a big run for one of the top four WRs. This is dead. It either exists and it's so distorted and blurry that you would completely discredit your news outlet or it doesn't. Either case I think this is done. No one is running with it and no major news outlet even chose to have an article on it outside of PFT.

Not sure Dez being franchised is any indication of anything regarding this incident.

If anything, if the Cowboys thought something would come of it, franchising him in far less risky than a long term deal.

Unless you think the Cowboys are sure it will go nowhere, so they franchised him, in which case that could be.

However, I don't see the franchise move meaning anything really.

I can see that because if he is suspended he doesn't get paid BUT I see little reason to do it if you arn't confident he plays for you especially when your statistically most important player is about to hit free agency.

That and there is a deadline to franchise him. If he gets suspended they dont have to pay him anyway

Yup. Cowboys playing it as safe as possible.

Nothing comes of it, they got Dez for another year, for sure.

Something comes of it, Dez is gone and they don't have to pay the crazy numbers.

THis makes 150% sense for them at the moment.

No, it's not.

DLF February ADP, #1 overall

MFL ADP, top-3, virtually tied with Bell and Beckham.

Current DLF dynasty rankings, #1 overall:

Maybe but what exactly (on the positive side) sets him apart from the other top guys? He's the same age as Julio and AJ. Less injury prone than Julio. In a heavy run based offense like AJ, unlike Julio. This year he scored 16 TDs (not likely to repeat, though double digit likely as is also true for Green) while his receptions were down. He also has off-field risk that the other two don't and an aging QB with back problems. Hard for me to understand why he's number 1. I'm not seeing enough separation between him and these two guys let alone DT, Brown or OBJ for him to be the alleged consensus number 1. His numbers this year were exactly the same as the past few outside of 4 more TDs. Maybe I could buy it in standard scoring but definitely not PPR. Can someone enlighten me?

Everything you say is totally true, and yet he's pretty much the consensus #1 player, despite all that and despite the video tape rumors the past couple weeks. That was my only point, because the other poster said he was a buy-low and his value had dropped. Clearly not.

Understood. Theoretically though he could still be number one vs a few weeks back and have lost value. His off-field issues have been ignored over the past few years but it will now be fresh in people's minds and my sense is that people will be willing to let him go for a little less (at least more risk averse owners). DLF Rankings for February only have 2 people that have ranked post video tape (granted they have him as 1 and 2) but I'd like to see where the other 5 guys have him now. I also expect his March ADP to fall down a couple spots which we should be able to see soon on DLF.

Dez should just admit his wrongdoing to Roger, let the league punish him, then carry on with his career.

It's the honorable thing to do... and sets his precedence as a role model for kids.

Take your lumps, and still get rich.

Was he cheaper last week than he was a month ago? It was and is the time to buy!
As a multiple Dez owner his price is the same as it was a month ago. You are dead wrong if you think anyone will discount him. story is clearly going nowhere.
The emergence of all the off-field stories again doesn't concern you? You believe it was already priced in or do you just not care?
I would be concerned if the incident in question was recent. We all know he had issues 3 years ago. Still it's not clear if he was directly involved.

Since the Video has been reported, no matter how true or not his owners are selling for cheaper than they were last month. This very thread was talking about selling now as a worry strategy. I dont mind if you think his value is the same, I do also or i wouldn't have said to buy low.

The Greg Hardy signing is not going to sit well with Dez Bryant.

His agents already thinks all of the 'bad' new about him this off-season came from the team and then they go and sign Hardy with all his baggage.

I think storm clouds are brewing.

I would be pissed too if I were Dez.

Rotoworld:

Cowboys executive VP Stephen Jones believes it's "realistic" that the team will reach a long-term deal with franchise player Dez Bryant before the July 15 deadline.
However, Jones hinted the Cowboys may wait to see what kind of pacts Julio Jones, Demaryius Thomas and A.J. Green sign before committing long-term bucks to Bryant. Thomas is a fellow franchise player, while Jones and Green are going into the final years of their rookie contracts. The Falcons have called a Jones deal a priority, though the Bengals have hinted they'll franchise Green in 2016.
