Official Dez Bryant (5 Viewers)

Sounds like Jerry is low balling him

@DezBryant: I would rather you say I don't won't to pay you what you deserve instead of saying I'm not a top 5 wr in this league lol so disrespectful

my league Calvin is a keeper, so he's the #1 WR target for me. I'll be taking him late 1st over DT and the RB's Lynch, Foster, Bell…..Jimmy G will be kept by me (2nd round tender). 15 TD's a legit possibility.

If you have keepers and are drafting late first, there's no way he will be there. He's going late first without keepers.

Dez Bryant - WR - Cowboys

Through two weeks of training camp, Dez Bryant has been "just as good if not better" than he's been over the last two seasons.

Bryant has posted back-to-back campaigns of 90+ catches, 1,200+ yards and 12+ touchdowns, and is showing no signs of slowing down as he enters his prime. Now in a contract year, he has even more upside this year thanks to the presence of Scott Linehan, a defense that will yield shootouts and an offensive line that will give Tony Romo tons of time. There's not too much separating Bryant, Calvin Johnson, Julio Jones and Demaryius Thomas right now.

Any concern about Romo's health here? I know he's getting into shape now and should be ready to go, but Weeden is a pretty huge step down if it came to that

for me, yes. Romo was a guy that I was thinking about targetting late but I'm pumping the brakes a bit. I've had back problems and know how bad they can be and he's not a 24 year old kid anymore. I want to see him out there and playing and until I do he'll likely be off my draft board. They keep saying the right things but what else are they going to say?

Back surgery at a position like his and the way he plays the game is no joke and I think I even minimized it too much.

I couldn't agree more.

Cowboys, Dez Bryant fail to reach contract extension:

I know that not all contract years will result in a big season (example Hakeem Nicks); however, I see a perfect storm brewing for Dez to have a monster year:

1. New OC who will move Dez a around the field to create favorable match ups.

2. Dallas D that will struggle to prevent opponents from scoring, forcing the Cowboys to pass, pass, and keep passing.

3. Angry Dez Bryant who is motivated, more mature than before, and who wants to prove that he is a top 5 WR in the NFL.

so anyone worrying about the shoulder injury combined with romo's supposed back injury? Call me crazy, but Weeden would actually be able to throw downfield so maybe it would help Dez? Josh Gordon produced just fine with Weeden last year

Actually I been thinking the same thing that weeded could get him the ball more. I think the best think for Dez is Murray taking off it's gonna open up the field for him

Rotoworld:

Dez Bryant had six catches for 89 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's Week 3 win over the Rams.

Bryant did all of his damage on a 68-yard touchdown against blown coverage in the third quarter. He finished with a team-high seven targets. The Cowboys continue to go run-heavy with Tony Romo still not fully recovered from his back injury, but Bryant is still averaging 82 receiving yards through three games. Bryant will have another plus matchup against the Saints in Week 4.

As a suffering Dallas fan and OSU Cowboys fan, I really enjoy watching Dez and how much he has matured! Go Pokes!

In the event that Romo would be unable to play due to injury, would Weeden be a significant downgrade?
I imagine Weeden would pepper Dez with tons of targets, so no, probably not a huge downgrade.
Weeden knew how to throw to Bryant before either player entered the NFL, so I would imagine that he hasn't forgot how to lock onto his favorite target:

Brandon Weeden: Dez Bryant is same ‘freak’ on the field, but he has ‘grown a whole lot’ since college

I could see the Cowboys making the playoffs this season barring major setbacks on injuries. Offensive line is playing great, and they faced the best D line today in football and Murray still hit 100 yards rushing. Defense is better than anyone thought. Bryant is a top 5 WR, but I have a bad feeling about Romo and his back.

Rotoworld:

Dez Bryant had three catches for 44 yards and a touchdown in Sunday night's Week 4 win over the Saints.

Bryant was doubled covered for most of the night, but beat Saints CB Keenan Lewis for an 18-yard touchdown on a back-shoulder fade in the fourth quarter. He was targeted six times by Tony Romo. Bryant has touchdowns in three straight games and is on pace for 92 catches and 1,176 yards this season.

Rotoworld:

Dez Bryant caught 9-of-14 targets for 85 yards and a touchdown in Dallas' Week 5, overtime win over the Texans.

Bryant made one of the catches of the year in the extra period, skying over Johnathan Joseph and pasting him for a 37-yard reception that set up the Cowboys' game-winning field goal. Joseph had strong coverage, but Bryant simply out-muscled him. Bryant displayed similar power on his two-yard score in the fourth quarter. Bryant has cleared 80 yards in 3-of-5 contests this season, and found the end zone in four straight games. He'll do battle with the Seahawks' Legion of Boom in Week 6.

Dez Bryant's fantastic overtime catch helps Cowboys beat Texans

Nice catch. I keep waiting for him to blow up and it hasn't happened (yet). He sure has been consistent with double-digit points every week since week 1.

Rotoworld:

Dez Bryant caught four passes for 63 yards in Sunday's Week 6 win at Seattle.

Richard Sherman just played his side as he always does, allowing the Cowboys to get Dez Bryant off Sherman Island whenever they wanted. But they didn't shy away, putting Dez on Sherman's side often early in the game (and not throwing to him) and keeping him there plenty late (and throwing at him). Bryant only caught four of 10 targets and had a bomb clang off his hands on a play Byron Maxwell got hurt, but that was expected given the spot. Dez will be an elite WR1 in Week 7 with an easier -- but still difficult -- matchup against the Giants.

Rotoworld:

Dez Bryant caught nine passes for 151 yards in Sunday's Week 7 win over the Giants.

In an effort to contain DeMarco Murray, the Giants left Prince Amukamura in 1-on-1 shadow coverage for much of the game. Amukamura actually stuck on Bryant's hip for the most part, but Dez was just too fast, too strong and too good for him. Bryant was also unlucky to have a touchdown called back when replays showed his knee was down with the ball inside the 1-yard line. A true physical freak at the peak of his powers, we're scared of what he's going to do the Redskins' awful secondary on Monday Night Football in Week 8.

He didn't appear to be getting much separation on the plays I could see him running routes. Washington did a nice job on him last night.
Other then the man matchup on his sweet TD, the times that he did get loose or was on man coverage Romo went somewhere else. The corner who was on him may not be a good CB, but he came to play last night and sure looked like one. I'll say this and people may not believe me, Weeded playing for Romo if he got hurt would be great for Dez, Weeden loves his #1 WR.

Well, he did have 2 big and costly drops as well.

Drops or hit really hard and ball came loose? Its funny when people knock studs because they drop one or two but dont care about the one handed grabs an inch off the ground and has to make video game moves to get in the endzone, that dont deserve the comment but the two "drops" do.

Noticed you had nothing to say about that but point our drops that were not drops.
I'm not trying to pick on your favorite player. Just pointing out that he dropped 2 balls so it's not like "Romo went somewhere else" was the only problem last night. He dropped 2 passes. One could have been a TD and another a 20 yd gain. I didn't knock him at all am I'm not sure why I have to slobber all over his TD catch to be objective here. The TD was great and you already said that.

People like you really brighten many peoples day I bet. Now he is my favorite player,\ and I want you to slob him? Didnt know thats what I was asking, I must have lots of favorite players and ask many others to slob them if pointing out their studly play is worth more then the negative they provide. What two drops are you considering? The one coming across the middle where he was hit and the ball came out or the two great plays by the corner in the endzone?

Right, 2 drops. The one over the middle and 1 of the end zone passes.

Dez fan here, he definitely should of caught the 2nd throw in the end zone.. hit him right in the chest. O well, On to next week facing arizona probably without Patrick Peterson. 8-120 & a TD will be nice.

Been really frustrating waiting for his big games this year.

He did. This doesn't change that. I'm not sure why you can't separate the 2.
Not sure how you think 2 defensed balls by a cornerback in the endzone constitute a drop. Just because one hit him in the chest? The defender got his hand there. The other was hit across the middle, the fact you consider good plays by defense drops on Dez kind of unreasonable. When you criticize a guy for those "two drops" that were good defensive plays when he makes arguably the best 5 yard catch and TD run of the year is petty.
