Official Dez Bryant (4 Viewers)

He did. This doesn't change that. I'm not sure why you can't separate the 2.
Not sure how you think 2 defensed balls by a cornerback in the endzone constitute a drop. Just because one hit him in the chest? The defender got his hand there. The other was hit across the middle, the fact you consider good plays by defense drops on Dez kind of unreasonable. When you criticize a guy for those "two drops" that were good defensive plays when he makes arguably the best 5 yard catch and TD run of the year is petty.
I don't alter the way I count drops for anybody. It seems to me that you are willing to be more forgiving on what a drop is than most.

I constitute a drop as a RB/WR dropping a catchable ball without a defensive player making a play to disrupt the catch. Did a defensive player hit him in the play across the middle to force the ball out in a bang bang play? Did a defender hit the ball with his hand each time Weeden threw it to him in the endzone. Yes the defenders did with the lovely proof of video as my evidence. My definition of a drop does not defer from many others, maybe you are the one who thinks a drop is anything near a WR that he doesnt catch, I could be wrong. Sorry If I am.

I've been very consistent in my judgment of drops over the years and have had this discussion many times. If a player has his hands on the ball and doesn't catch it, it's a drop. Not all drops are equal and some are more difficult circumstances. However, allowing your personal subjectivity into that allows for bias. Therefore, I'd rather judge drops "harshly" (in your mind apparently) than allow that bias. On one of those plays the defender got his hand in after Dez had his hands on it. In the other he got there first. One is a drop, the other is not. Defenders are allowed to make good plays that cause drops.

Not going to get into semantics of "drops", but he should have caught the second target in the end zone. I bet you he would tell you the same thing. If I remember right, he tried to body-catch it. Not sure why he did that - Dez is such a great "hands" catcher (is that a word?).

I don't get all the animosity. That seemed like a very clear drop to me as well.

I'll probably get flamed for this, and it is in part probably down to the rest of my team not quite doing it for me when it counts, but I've been underwhelmed by Dez's output this season relative to where I drafted him.

I bought into him not expecting Dallas to run so much, not expecting them to be ahead a lot and running down the clock, not expecting Williams to put up the numbers he has been, and thus not expecting Linehan to actually spread the O around so much.

Never good having to rely on a player to score you 22 pts like I was last night, but I did have a feint hope he would.

Dez has still been very very solid don't get me wrong, but I was foreseeing a massive year for him when I took him in the early 2nd round. Not his fault at all but he hasn't been able to have that BIG game so far that wins you a weekly game. Hopefully there's one not far around the corner.

Are you saying you wouldn't have been happy with that at the beginning of the year?

No I'm not. Truth be told Im probably just being a moany ####er cause I've gone from 3-0 to 3-5 with all kinds of other lesser receivers like Maclin, Sanu, Fitz, Roddy White, Sanders having their biggest games of the season against me across the last five weeks.

Just a well disguised moan basically. Apologies.

This is a very good season but I think many Dez owners were hoping for that true breakout season where he gets like 16 TDs. Hoping for that breakout season shouldn't sour you on a very good one, though.

It is possible he puts up better pace of numbers the second half as Murray gets beat up on touches.

Dez fan here, he definitely should of caught the 2nd throw in the end zone.. hit him right in the chest. O well, On to next week facing arizona probably without Patrick Peterson. 8-120 & a TD will be nice.
Almost wish PP was in. Guarantee backup plays better than what he has this year.Peterson has looked flat out awful.

If Weeden could get Josh Gordon the ball, he should be able to feed Bryant. No Romo, no problem.
That's a good thought. How wacky would it be if Dez put up a 2013 gordon performance today? People would be calling for weeden to replace Romo. Wouldn't matter if the Cowboys lost or anything else. Just pure fervor based on fantasy and daily.

So much for that. Dez's value is shot without Romo. Weeden sucks- he couldn't get the ball to Bryant on Monday night and he can't get it to him today. Cowboy WR's have no receptions so far today. Weeden reminds me of David Carr: Pure suck.

Somethings gonna give in the second half. No way he ends up with a goose egg. If he does that is the coaches fault, not Weedens.

Weeden sucks. All checkdowns to TE or RBs. Or picks, he can throw that as well.

Well it looks like the last players that I would ever have thought would fail me in my direst hours of need, have done so in back to back weeks. Jordy and now Dez. Cursed season in my main league.

Rotoworld:

Contract-year WR Dez Bryant said he'd be "highly disappointed" if the Cowboys slap him with the franchise tag this offseason.

Bryant recently fired agent Eugene Parker and hired Jay Z's Roc Nation. He's subsequently changed his stance on negotiations and is willing to work something out during the season. Bryant, who turns just 26 years old Tuesday and has been a model citizen off the field of late, is seeking a deal that will pay him around $13 million per year. A long-term deal should get done as the franchise tag would badly eat into an already mangled Cowboys salary cap situation.

The good that comes from this is that Dez din't show immaturity. He showed a lot of frustrations but I've seen worse from Brady, for sure.

The better that comes from this is, regardless of if it is Romo or not in London, I expect Dez to rage like a mad man on a lot of looks next week. Most organizations, I wouldn't read the tea leaves but Jerry Jones seems to be that particular type of owner that actually likes that variety of passion. I expect the Cowboys to make a point to show their player in Europe.

No Patrick Peterson this week to completely shut him down
Peterson's having a pretty poor season, maybe chill out with the belated chest thumping.
He's having a terrible season. Not sure what that has to do with completely locking down Dez last week?
Weeden. You think in the middle of a terrible season he just randomly shut down Dez? Come on. Peterson can be the best CB in the league, but he's not playing like it this year.
