Dez Bryant - WR - Cowboys
Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said Dez Bryant (foot) is running and cutting at full speed.
Garrett confirmed Bryant is unlikely to practice Thursday, but said he should get some work on the side field. If Bryant is indeed cutting a full speed, he should have a good shot at playing Week 8 against Seattle. He is still doubtful for this week.
Color me impressed. If he makes it back for week 8, I'll be thrilled.
Agreed. I actually like that they aren't rushing him back this week. Definitely good to hear that he's running full speed and cutting without any problems.

Next week is against Seattle... May as well take that week off too if Cassel is qb
Eh...Just line him up on the side opposite Sherman and see what they can do. What else are they going to do? Run the ball*?

*If CMike performs at 20% of what his thread indicates he can, them yes...maybe run the ball.

I must say I am quite annoyed with the Cowboys here. It's pretty obvious there is no possibility of Bryant playing this week, so what is the point of the Doubtful designation? I'm sure it's just because nobody wants to tell the impetuous child owner that Dez won't play this week, so they're saying maybe there's a small chance.

I'm bitter because Dez should be in my IR spot, where he's been the past few weeks, but I can't put him there until they designate him as Out. So I had to drop Christine Michael to make room for Dez on my roster this week, and now even after a full week of not practicing (when he supposedly needed two full practices to have any chance to play) they're still not sure? I'd like to pick somebody up to fill the spot - but I'll have to wait until Sunday morning.

Annoying.

@DavidMooreDMN: Dez Bryant did not make trip to NY with rest of team today. He's resting at home and may _ that's may _ fly up Saturday.

it just seems very unlikely for week 8 too.... unless next week he gets in a LP on wednesday.... if he practices next thursday i think you can look at week 9 as possible...

Rotoworld:

FOX Sports' Mike Garafolo reports Dez Bryant (foot) is "50-50" for Week 8 against the Seahawks.
Per Garafolo's colleague, Jay Glazer, Bryant felt some discomfort in his surgically-repaired foot last week, and the Cowboys just want to make sure he's 100 percent before putting him back on the field. While Bryant is up in the air for next week, the Cowboys "believe" he'll be back Week 9. Bryant owners have come this far already; keep holding him for the stretch run into the playoffs.

Rotoworld:

Cowboys VP Stephen Jones said Dez Bryant (foot) is "on target" to play in Week 8 following Wednesday's return to a limited practice.

"He looked good in practice and should do even more tomorrow,'' Jones said. "It's premature to say he'll play Sunday, but he's on target to play this weekend if this continues.'' Bryant reportedly took part in "all" of the Cowboys' 7-on-7 drills on Wednesday, and it sounds like he'll attempt to get in some 11-on-11 work Thursday. Even with Matt Cassel at quarterback in a difficult matchup, Dez would at worst be a fantasy WR2 play if active.

Need to decide between Dez (4PM), Kendall Wright (1PM), and Richard Rodgers (Sunday night)

With the early game for Wright, I'll probably roll with Dez unless he's declared out before the early games start. Having Rodgers going late Sunday gives me a fall-back if Dez is a GTD.

Anyone starting him this week? And who are you starting him over?

Deciding between Dez or Moncrief
I have this same decision to make and I'm leaning Dez due to Moncrief playing @ Carolina.

I'm still expecting the whole 50% to play thing to be a smokescreen...I suspect he'll be a gametime inactive.

Wouldn't roll him unless I had someone going at 4 or later to plug in.

Possibly. But the Cowboys seem to be one of the more transparent teams in the league when it comes to injury info.

My decision will be between Dez and Cooks who plays at 1pm. Leaning Dez and I think we should have a good idea if he's playing or not by Sunday morning.

I'm leaning towards starting Dez over K. Wright and Davante Adams. Once he's back in-force, I'll drop one of the other two. If I don't start Dez, I'll start K. Wright simply because he's the one not coming off an injury.

My dilemma is somewhat similar. I can leave a WR spot open for Dez and also have Davante on the bench. If Dez doesn't play I can pivot to Davante in the night game, but would not feel good about doing that. Hopefully we get more info in the next couple days on Dez.

I have a pool of TY Hilton, Dez, Snead and Decker with Allen Robinson on bye. Decker seems to be a little banged up right now. Its certainly at least tempting to just throw him in if he's active and hope he at least gets a red zone look or 2.

I usually like to see these guys play a game before putting them back in. I played Jeffery his first week back due to need and it paid off, but I'm not sure how he will do without Romo and first week back. Probably going to roll with Gio over him in my flex spot.

Ditto...I feel like him practicing on Wednesday in 7-on-7 drills, and hopefully 11-on-11 today, bodes well for him. He's an elite WR. If he's healthy enough to play at all, he's healthy enough to put up numbers. I think the biggest risk is the 'Boys being either way ahead or way behind early where they can afford to just take him out.

Just moved Gates, Spiller, Cooks and Eli for him in a 12 team redraft. I hate the Cowbys but love me some Dez Bryant WR1 production....ALL ABOARD!

Nice, you pulled the old "four nickels is worth more than a quarter" trick. His roster must really blow to do a 1 for 4.

Bloom just shot him up to the top of his rankings/start recommendations today. I'm not buying it until I see the reveal. Gonna stick to my other guys who have been playing well.

Terrence Williams, Butler, and Street had productive days by their standards. I would feel comfortable starting Dez. Cassel throws like a QB who thinks he's better than he actually is.

He's gonna do nothing with Cassell and I don't think he's 100% yet. I'm benching him for Martavis and Mike Evans.
Good idea. Not everybody has those type of options though. ... ... but I do! Benching Dez for AJ Green, Mike Evans, and Julian Edelman.

I agree though, Dez isn't truly going to be back until he gets Romo back.

The real question is what you do if your backup plan is before 4:00. If that were the case I wouldn't gamble and I'd go with plan B. I'd be concerned that Dez ends up a game time decision, he doesn't play and I'm stuck with a big goose egg. In my case my plan B is Crabtree who is also a late game so I have the luxury of waiting to see if Dez is a go. If he is a go and playing...he's in my lineup.

Will be starting him with Green and Evans

(Rotoworld)Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said Dez Bryant(foot) had a "good day" on Wednesday.

Analysis: Garrett said the plan is to get Bryant more work Thursday. Cowboys VP Stephen Jones said Bryant is "on target" to play this week after Wednesday's practice. It would be surprising at this point if Dez sat out against the Seahawks.

A lot of speculation that De is pushing to play. He's a fiery competitor, I'll give him that!

Tex

Rotoworld:

Dez Bryant - WR - Cowboys

After Thursday's session, Dez Bryant said, "just know that I had a great day of practice."

OC Scott Linehan agreed that Bryant "looked great." Dez was able to do more on Thursday, taking part in some of the Cowboys' team drills. Barring a setback, he should return against Seattle. Richard Sherman and the Legion of Boom present a stiff challenge, but if anyone is up to the task, it's Dez. Employ him as high-end WR2.

It's a pretty big gamble to play Dez in his first game back against Sherman who has done well against him in the past. With Cassell throwing the ball no less. I'd like to play him, but I'm leaning towards waiting to see what he does in this game first.

you would have to have serious bye week troubles or be deimated by injuries to consider playing Dez this week IMO.

hasn't played a snap since the first week of september

no reps with Cassel in his career

Cassel sucks

coming off a significant injury

playing against the Legion.

The guy is an elite talent but this is not the week unless you have no choice.

I agree with all of this. I have to pick between stevie johnson or him, so my options are limited. If I had to choose between somebody better than johnson or him, I would roll with the other guy.

I am going to run with either Gore or Gio over him in my flex this week. Hoping he makes it through the game without issues.

I'm likely keeping him on the bench UNLESS John Brown is out. Then it's either Dez or Lacy plugged into that flex spot.

I agree that first game back, Seattle, and Matt Cassel are enough to make me wait.

Dez Bryant - WR - Cowboys

Dez Bryant (foot) is listed as questionable for Week 8 against the Seahawks.

Dez was limited at practice all week. The expectation is that he'll play, though Sunday's game comes against the Seahawks' famously stingy secondary. Bryant will be a high-end WR2 for that matchup.

So I don't see the dreaded "game-time decision" verbiage associate with Bryant this week. Is he pretty much a go based on this? I have 1pm players that I'd use otherwise.

I'm hesitant to start him his first week back. Just an uneasy feeling to put him in without being sure he's really healthy enough
They showed him in pregame warm-ups last week running and jumping up (and of course coming down) to catch the ball and you wouldn't have known he was injured at all. Since this is a foot injury I don't think doing those same things in live action are any different. If he's active next week he's really "healthy enough" imo. I don't think he'd be playing otherwise. The only reason to consider benching him would be Matt Casell (if you had better options).

I don't agree. The danger was that he wouldn't play but everything I've seen indicates that isn't an issue. With that in the rearview mirror I don't see why you'd sit him unless you had a really attractive flex. He's a clear cut top tier WR1 who's playing. Would you really be considering sitting him because Cassel is QB, playing against Seattle, etc if he wasn't coming off injury?

He's practicing, they say he looks good with full range of motion so he's in my lineup.
