My question is: what's up with Riddick? Sprain? What kind?

Assuming arid sick = Riddick, ankle. Ask anyone on the Lions staff & the answer is always "read the report." First rule of fight club...

Aaron Donald is the best interior defensive lineman in the NFL. He'll be going up against Graham Glasgow, rookie C out of Michigan making his first NFL start. At G.

Sorry, want a story to make you feel better? Glasgow got a DUI in May, 2015. Knowing that had the potential to derail his draft prospects, his 81 year old Grandma moved from Aurora, IL, to Ann Arbor. Had her grandson move in with her. He buckled down, made Hon. Mention All-Big, got drafted in the 3rd round. 

He has a big challenge in front of him. 

 
just hoping he performs well enough to make the coaches think more about how their using him or well enough to make someone in my league think he's an ascendant talent so I can trade him.  right now, he's just occupying space on my bench waiting for the lottery to hit...hoping that's this week

i never got off this train, but i'm hoping Washington is limited in the game this Sunday. i can't imagine the posts on Monday if he ends up getting a good portion of the carries against this Rams defense. The same people shouting "he won't face chicago every week" will pretend he will face the Rams every week.

I'm thinking 5-20 yards YFS.

BUT...I was bummed Joique didn't come back strong last year & by necessity got cut this year.  Happy he landed in Chicago, he's a good guy who was great for the community.

I don't expect Forsett to be effective. This week he barely knows his teammates, next week he might be 4th string. Would be cool if I was wrong, because he's a solid dude.

This hype thread is getting to be an epic roller coaster of emotions. "I'm in!"   "He's injured" "I'm out!" "He's not practicing" "i knew he was a scrub glad I dropped" "they picked up forsett" "now Washington is fully screwed" "Washington is practicing again" "maybe I should pick him up?" "Riddick is OUT this week" "I'm in!  Stud potential!"

They threw it to him right away in the game he got hurt. He could easily get 5+ targets and he is the type of RB that he could house one of them.

It honestly wouldn't shock me if he was the #1 WW pick up next week.

 
Good grief. What am I doing. I guess I'm dropping Ajayi for Washington. Maybe. I could stand still and wait until after the games this weekend. I have the #2 WW spot. I don't think anyone else is interested. We have small benches.

Can't wait to hear what others are doing.

I grabbed him once I saw riddick was ruled out (dropped duke). Riddick will always have a role but I'd like to see what he can do one game and that's enough for me to stash him one week to see how it plays out. I think the chances are low of him amounting to anything but if you have the room, why not. I'd definitely drop ajayi for him.

I have been sitting on the number 1 waiver wire position all year and I am considering using it to pick up Washington tonight.  Someone dropped him the other day before Riddick news came out

I'm holding Ajayi. Both teams suck but one has a QB they can rely on and I think a healthy Miami o-line is better than a healthy Det o-line.

Yeah one is a terrible RB that has next to zero chance of becoming anything ever and one is and Elite athlete that could become and elite FF asset. Jesus dude. I'm sorry but I'll never understand why these decisions are hard. It's not close at all between those two.

If you're waiting to pick a player until you have the #1 WW priority you're doing it wrong imo.

Please let's not try to be so condescending.  All I am asking is that you try to focus on defending your position rather than the whole condescension thing.  

From my perspective your elite athlete was a 7th round draft pick for a reason.  Not that 5th round Ajayi is better just because he was drafted two rounds earlier but that happened for a reason.  But the fact is Ajayi has been a workhorse back on some level, Washington has not, and he performed as such at a high level. Saying that he has a "zero chance of becoming anything ever" is purely based upon emotion rather than logic.

Personally I think anything but the Adrian Peterson/David Johnson type RBs are entirely fungible (i.e. I am not saying Ajayi is better than Washington as an athlete) and their value is dependent on their supporting cast, starting with the offensive line.  My feeling is that Ajayi has, when healthy, a significantly better offensive line.  In addition he is not injured.  So, yeah, this season I see no problem with someone holding Ajayi over Washington.  It's not an easy decision but I understand the logic, just as I understand the logic of someone (someone who actually tries to use logic to defend their position that is) who prefers Washington over Ajayi.

Honestly I apologize for coming off condescending. It's really not close for me though so it's hard. Lol I will try to tone it down in the future.

So should I drop that slow guy with a brace in a muddled situation (Dixon) for this superior elite athletic freak (DW / don't make me specify which D Washington only one is worthy of this kind of hype)?? We're talking about my RB7 here, agonizing decision...

No worries brother.  It could have just as easily been my interpretation as opposed to your intent.

What I don't see is why it isn't close.  Ajayi performed at easily as high of a level at Boise State as Washington did at...uh...Washington.  And Ajayi did it as a legitimate three down back touching the ball 271 & 397 :eek:  times his final two seasons.  Everyone talks about Washington being some great receiver because he has 41 career receptions in college (10.0 ypc) but Ajayi had 73 at 10.6 ypc.  Washington is barely bigger 6'1", 221 than Ajayi 6'0", 216.

Neither has built up much of a resume in the NFL to base anything off of either.  So, what? this comes down to the Underwear Olympics? Some kind of freakish measurables for Washington?  His SPARQ scores & PLORK scores & HAWKSCREECH scores? Meh. We all know that for every SPARQ freak who goes on to a great NFL career there are even more Mike Mamulas. So, while the scores are worth noting they are not necessarily a consistent predictor of NFL success. The empirical evidence isn't there to make an informed decision either way.  Although it does lean towards Ajayi at the moment.

I think this is really nothing more than an emotional decision for all of us based upon our gut feelings about a given player.  

For example I went "zero RB" in my draft.  I drafted Ajayi in the 11th round as my #6 RB and Kenneth Dixon as my #7 RB. Since then I have dropped Dixon for Washington, dropped Ajayi for Dixon, dropped Washington for Ajayi and dropped Dixon for Duke Johnson (non-ppr but I have Crow so when the owner dropped Duke I had to grab him to lockdown that backfield).

Now I am sitting on Michael Thomas & Cameron Meredith (one will have to start for me with M.Evans and Kyle Rudolph on the bye) as my end of bench players while Washington sits on my wire. I wold like to acquire him but just can't pull the trigger just now.

Point being, we are throwing darts blindfolded and hoping to hit triple 20s.

With the amount of pass attempts Stafford will have today, D-Wash might well get 5+ targets while watching from the sidelines on throw aways, none however will be housed. Might want to also adjust next weeks #1 WW pickup.

He's a spec/lotto pick up.  Maybe he hits, maybe not.

Was trying very hard yesterday to dish some RB depth to free up a spot to pick up Washington but couldn't swing anything. Kinda glad now with the news of him not playing. I get to evaluate my current crop of spec/lotto picks (Yeldon, Ajayi, Henry) for another week and feel comfortable that no one is going to go after Washington before I get another crack at him (if necessary).

Dropped him for Smallwood. If Smallwood does nothing will try to pick him up again next week. In all likelihood will sooner pick up bye week in and hold Forsettif he does well today
