***Official*** Dwayne Washington, RB, DET (1 Viewer)

Still holding in dynasty. The Forsett signing likely means the ankle/foot is a multi week issue...Lions will never share that info though,  so we are left to speculate. The Lions suited up 2 RBs Sunday so they need bodies. I think they cut Forsett if/when Washington returns.

Lions signed RB Justin Forsett.
The Lions' banged-up backfield needs a body, and Forsett was the best out there. Forsett limped to a 3.16 YPC before getting cut by the Ravens, but brings dual-threat experience to a running back corps missing Ameer Abdullah and dealing with a gimpy Theo Riddick and Dwayne Washington. Riddick will be fine for Week 6, but Washington is less certain. Forsett figures to see immediate touches against the Rams, but will be well off the fantasy radar. He's not worth an add in 12-team leagues.
This seems to suggest Theo is banged up too. Has anyone heard anything like that?

Washington (ankle) is expected to return for Sunday's game against the Rams, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports.

Spin:
Washington didn't practice last week and was listed as doubtful on the final injury report, ultimately leaving Zach Zenner to share backfield duties with Theo Riddick. The Lions' recent decision to sign Justin Forsett apparently isn't a negative sign regarding Washington's health, which may suggest that Zenner is in danger of losing his roster spot within the next few weeks. In any case, Washington will likely return to a timeshare with Riddick, health permitting. The rookie's practice status will still be worth monitoring in the lead up to Sunday's game.

Given all the analysis of how well Dion Lewis is walking over in his thread, thought Dwayne's thread should get in on some of that action...

Dwayne Washington made a swift cut out the side door when he walked in the locker room and saw reporters. Ankle looks fine to me

  thanks that's quite funny. Another perfect example of the age of the internet ruining reporting on sports.

Thank goodness Washington passes Dave Birkett's eye test. We can all start with confidence. DFS gem

Pretty sure Birkett was tweeting/reporting in jest.

Rotoworld:

DetroitLions.com's Tim Twentyman expects Dwayne Washington (ankle) to remain the No. 2 back.

The Lions signed Justin Forsett this week, but he could just be insurance with both Washington and Theo Riddick (ankle) on the sidelines during Wednesday's practice. Forsett was not good in three games with the Ravens early in the year, and Washington brings a different element to the offense than either Riddick or Forsett. He is a hold if possible in deeper leagues.

Any Detroit homers with insight on Riddick's ankle?
The Lions don't discuss injuries. "Read the report" is the standard answer in the presser.

We know he and Washington didn't practice. The latter was running on the side during the portion of practice open to reporters.

I might roll him off my IR spot.  That will be about it.   Wait and see approach here, he is going to have some opportunities if he can stay on the field.  Just don't know if it will be as soon as this week.

FWIW beat writer Tim Twentyman views it as 1) Theo (when healthy) 2) Swaggy (when healthy) 3) Forsett / Zenner in competition for RB3. That seems like the consensus reading Birkett, Meinke, O'Hara, Rodgers et al.

But that might be different Week 6 given the injuries, though I'm not sure it matters. Glasgow will likely get his first start, Tomlinson has been out all week (neck) and Warford has been limited (hip) - going to near impossible to keep Donald out of the backfield on Sunday.

You thinking the LAR D is a good play? You seem to have a decent read on what's going on in Detroit.

Everything I've read says this is a good spot for Stafford, but if there's injuries on the offensive line and there is no running game to speak of could be a long day.

I'm holding. I have no legitimate reason not to.
As one of the beat writers wrote this week, he's done absolutely nothing *(other than spraining an ankle) to deserve being demoted. He's a better back than Forsett and Zenner, and a better runner than Theo. In a very limited sample size, he has succeeded at every phase and every task/role given to him. When he's healthy again they are anxious to see what that have in him.

I had to cut him as other higher ceiling lotto tickets were available, but he's not a bad guy on the end of your bench. There's a lot to like about Swaggy.

I'm holding on a short bench in dynasty because of his upside. There's a couple safer RB cuffs like Asiata and Hightower but Washington doesn't need Riddick to go down to have value so he's on my bench.

Practice report today is going to be key for Theo, Washington, Forsett. Will drive who is picked up and dropped.
Washington's player notes on ESPN now saying Washington practiced today, Riddick did not.

Washington (ankle) took part in Friday's practice, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports.

Spin:
It won't be clear how much work Washington got in Friday until after practice, but his participation alone bodes well for his chances of playing in Week 6. Fellow running back Theo Riddick did not practice Friday and has not done so all week, so Washington could be looking at an expanded role this week if he is able to take the field.

If you have CJ, I would absolutely not drop Booker for either of those guys. Can't believe either are on the waiver wire anyway at this point, unless 10 team league?
Don't have CJ. 12 team nonPPR yahoo league. Start 9, bench 6 so shallow rosters.

Smallwood is 9% owned.

Washington is 11% owned.

Just picked him up.

Again.

Will somebody please step up and take my flex position? I'm talking to you D. Washington...and D. Washington (OAK), or J. Richard, or K. Dixon, etc. etc.

Me too. We finally agree on something!  :suds:

Still gonna try and pick Lewis back up next week but I'm in need of immediate RB help at the moment.
How about that?  We now agree on TWO things!?!?!

Could this be the beginning of a beautiful relationship?
