***Official*** Dwayne Washington, RB, DET (1 Viewer)

I hear you on not knowing whether he stays 2nd fiddle to riddick and how they are different players.

I'm holding him (been holding since week 2) mostly because there aren't any better Rb options on the wire and I love his upside. But I didn't think this was as bad an injury as it apparently was.  Shaping up to be 1 month missed due to injury.

It just sucks BC these last 2-3 weeks were his chance to shine.  He could have blown up and taken over this backfield.   Now he will come back probably with riddick and might never get the volume he needs to breakout.
EXACTLY!

Those who make a difference do so when they have the opportunity.  You could say he's had the opportunity TWICE now - first when Abdullah went down and then when Riddick went down.

Not worth the roster spot with so many good players on byes.

Besides, if you cut him, it's not like any other owner in the league is as bigger sucker than you and is going to snatch him and his sprained ankle up away from you.
Well I'll just be a sucker and keep him. LOL

Not trolling, really.  He might have upside, but I'm not banking on HIGH upside like you are.  My guess is he will go down like a ##### again next time somebody tries to tackle him.

Yeah I'm pissed because he had is opportunity and failed miserably.  He's been teasing his comeback for two weeks now to take the job and he can't even do that w/Riddick out.

The only reason I still have him is because there is literally no one else on our WW for me to grab.  So while I think he has some upside, at this point it's severely limited.
Washington's upside is the same as it has ever been.  Missing games with injury doesn't diminish upside.

They're just frustrated and trolling. They know that.
Is that your go to phrase when someone disagrees with you?  That they're "trolling"?  No one is trolling, though, so that's why it sounds so ridiculous.

No you're trolling. Sorry you lost today. Washington is my RB5 because I've planned better than you or ran better than you in regards to injuries.

Lost?  WTH are you talking about?  Was there a game you thought I was playing with you?  Or maybe you're just five years old and you were playing against an imaginary person and had them confused with me?

It really sounds like you're trying to convince yourself you're something special.  Let me tell you, I feel safe speaking for everyone when I say you are not special at all.

There is someone trolling in here - you'll find him in the mirror.

lol if you say so.....

Well you're crying like it's costing you your season.....he's a lotto ticket. Like I tell my 5 year old son "man up" young man.
No one is crying.  All I see are people debating over the value of his upside and opportunity.

Seems to me like you're the one who is overreacting here in order to prove something.  You're the one who has gone off on some tangent congratulating yourself on some imaginary victory you think you won and some imaginary FF skills you think you have.  The only one that needs to grow up is you, no one else.  Become a better person or stop trolling.  Simple choices.  Make one.

Dude you're embarrassing yourself at this point. I'll let you have the last word. It seems like it's a lot more important to you than me.

I still feel the same. One game doesn't change hours and hours of scouting. Enjoy your moment in the sun. It's funny how these guys come out and don't make calls on any players then just call other posters out. Lolol no value to the board what so ever.
Update?

Holding him as well. I always hold high upside guys like this at the end of my bench. That's what the last couple spots on your bench are for.
I don't know if he's high upside anymore.  He's upside.  But he's just as good as any of the other jabroni waiver wire guys out there.

I cannot believe how big this thread is for a guy that hasn't done anything in the nfl yet.  lol  it's really funny.  Let's all just hold him or drop him and let this thread die down until he actually does anything of merit?

Agreed. I dropped him this week.

It looks like he'll share with Forsett at best and I'm assuming Riddick will be back. All this on a team with a crappy def that will be playing from behind and throwing the ball.

I'm out

Missing games diminishes OPPORTUNITY which diminishes upside.
Not when nobody else does squat in your absence.  The Lions are still searching for a legit RB, and neither Zenner nor Forsett seem to be the answer.  That door's still wide open for someone to bust through it.

No way let's see how far we can push this thing.

its my favorite non informational thread here

looking at the rest of season it appears that Hou and NO are the only good match ups left a couple of ok ones then all top 10 run Ds after that

Is it worth it?

as far as far as lotto tickets go, he's not bad. Lions searching for a big back and I'd think he's better than Zach Zenner. We know Riddick is the passing guy, Forsett (vet presence) and Zenner are Washington's competition but he's running out of time here.

we are all holding hope for some gem.   D. Wash is just one of them.    RB, especially now with buys are a crapshoot.   Look at Blount-just estimating.  good, bad, bad, good, bad, bad, good.

Look at Forte the same way.  good, bad, bad.  Crowell-same thing.  You get my point.

Has there ever, sans Cmike, been a player in this league that has done less and deserved 38 pages of dialogue on this site? Holy moly.

We were all just early on CMike.  Get Washington now in dynasty!

They just keep pushing it to the front page.

Tried to drop him on Sunday for Smallwood (Matthews owner) but missed the deadline because I forgot about the London kickoff.

Now I'm holding with the hope that he has a solid game and I can sell him to the Riddick owner (who also hasn't dropped Abdullah even though it's a redraft).

Can you unpack this a bit?  I must be missing something in what you appear to have written because Blount has been good, good, great, bad, good, good, great.  He's top 5 in my league so far.

Still holding... it's a marathon, and he's depth in deeper leagues for me.  I don't expect he takes the gig this week or next, but I also don't think Zenner is very good or Abdullah is coming back.

Meet back in week 8, or sooner if circumstances change.

I only play dynasty and keeper leagues, for reference... but I'm holding Washington across all leagues.  My take hasn't changed from last week when I said meet back in week 8.  The injury doesn't sound significant in the sense of keeping him out multiple games.  In fact, sounds like he's got a shot to play this week.  Riddick is a great receiver, but he's sub-par between the tackles.  Yes he's scoring TDs, but they're hard to predict week-to-week.  Zenner sucks.  It's plausible to me the Forsett signing is about depth and mentoring the young guys as much as it's about a perceived lack of faith/trust in Washington.  Washington made the team over other veteran backs like Ridley and took Zenner's job in camp -- as a very raw rookie fairly new to the RB position.

I'm playing the long game here... and I'm holding.  Maybe it never happens, but I think you guys are blind saying the opportunity has come and gone.  I realize leagues are different, bye weeks are difficult, and what's available on the wire spans a rather wide gamut.  For me, given the state of my rosters (not needing an immediate hit) and the state of my waiver wires (no Dixons, DeAndre Washingtons, Jalen Richards, etc.), I'll keep holding here.  We're 1/4 and 1 game through the season... long ways to go.
I still believe the opportunity is here.  No one has taken it from him.  I know some are arguing he's missed his opportunity, and I agree it would've been great to see him on the field these past few weeks without Riddick, but injuries happen.  Remember back in Week 3, his third week in the NFL, this team was ready to give him a significant complementary role to Riddick -- letting Riddick handle the passing game work and having Washington as the big back hammer between the tackles, where Riddick obviously struggles.  That was with a completely healthy backfield, and they wanted Washington to take that role, less than a month into his NFL career (after being a 7th rounder, after being relatively new to the RB position after a switch in college).

Yeah he's missed an opportunity to shine, but the role is still there for the taking, and we have no idea what Riddick's health even is at this point considering we've heard nothing and he hasn't set foot on the field in 2 weeks... not even a limited practice or work on the side.  Nothing.

So if they wanted him to fill this role in week 3 with a fully healthy Riddick, and now Riddick's banged up himself, wouldn't that suggest the role is still there for the taking?  Forsett is probably washed up - he's depth, or maybe a mentor in the locker room...something.  He's not there for his on-field prowess.  Zenner is a hard runner, but that doesn't replace talent -- at the end of the day he's averaging 3.3 yards per carry.  Nothing has changed about the opportunity, IMO.  We've had a couple of false starts on the health side, but hopefully we see a full practice this week.  Still own him everywhere for those of you who want to accuse me of being overly optimistic.  I just think this is a situation where there's clear opportunity, and a talented player is about to meet said opportunity.
