***OFFICIAL*** FBG All things BATTLEFIELD Thread (2 Viewers)

Had 4 on last night: Me, Joe, Tlef, and RipVanStamp (Mark Davis). Mad Cow, can you register RipVanStamp so he can move around channels, send PM to Mark Davis? Also can you register Baron as Baron, I'll send him the password if you pm it to me. I'm playing in an hour or so, I'm sure Joe will be in at 8:23 (Central time rules).

Baron said he'd probably be in, Shawn may be in since this isn't a raiding night in LOTRO. We need to get Maelstrom back over from the dark side.

I want to play - BF2 isn't liking me at all. I got a good image of the game, installed, and it just locks on startup. I have updated video drivers, sound drivers, etc. but no luck. I've checked my DX to make sure that is current and not fubar, and that seems to be ok. It's something with my computer though, since I can't load the single player for CoD4 ( :pickle: copy).edit: I think it might be PunkBuster related - seems to be only games that rely on that. Lotro works just fine except for crappy framerates at times, and all my tests seem to be ok. Just not certain games. I'm gonna look for a PB patch, finish patching up BF2, and then try that.Once I figure it out though, I'll be in sniping teammates as usual. . . I mean enemy guys - sniping enemy guys. Yah.

Will be good to have you back old friend. Had 5 of us in a squad tonight, and we won all but 2 matches I think.

Is this for the Xbox or PC? combined with previous reviews I read and with this reviewer talking about left and right bumpers its sounds like its for the Xbox :lmao:
 
Is CoD4 better than BF2? I realize that its an upgrade being a year later and all. One of those pluses and minuses things?

I saw you in TS yesterday, but apparently your mic was muted. I haven't played CoD4 yet, getting it for Christmas. BF2 I believe was released in 2005, so it is essentially a 3 year old game, but still a ton of fun to play. Couple of other guys are getting CoD4, so we'll probably give it a test run and see how it goes.

I have both and will say this. I prefer BF2 to CoD4 MP, but that is me. I find the action far too frantic in CoD4 - there is rarely too much time for real strategy, since you are likely dead within 20 seconds of spawn. More UT in that way. However, both are fun.
 
I still can't get this installed on the vista machine. Corp, I'd appreciate it if you could ask Baron how he was able to elevate his privlege level in vista to allow him to run the install as administrator. I'm set up as the admin, but I'm not able to select that option. Stay with XP!!

By the way, looks like Dave is walking away with his second BF2 fantasy title. He is crushing poor Pork Johnson.

Yes. Finally got the TS back up and running. Still working on the mic (again!). However, it is enjoyable to listen to you guys go at it. I have to dig out that box this week. Or, at least, buy myself a decent one for Christmas...On a related note, any suggestions for a good mic? Prefer a headset as some of the language would get that "look" from the wife...

thanks man. Yes, it looks that way. Brady over-performed this year as did most of my other guys. I put a note in the forum that i can't play again next year. I have to cut down some of my leagues. So let me know if there's anything i need to do to sign over my team to someone else. I had fun though.D.

I have a Turtle Beach surround sound headset that I really like. It has great sound and preserves my playing privileges with Corp.
