i didnt even install special forces on my new computer. The performance was just terrible. some of the maps were fun though.

There are definitely some hack programs available now for BF2 (probably been out for a while?) Was on the other night, and no admins on the server, and this guy was being real obvious about it. Running as a medic, with the LA#### gun, fire a burst and 3-5 people would be dead. It started glitching on him at some point though, cause he started smoking his own team as well ;P He finally got booted either by an admin who logged on or automated process, not sure which. I don't know how you would get caught though, using something like this as a sniper and keeping at range. Some days I can be on when sniping, and seems like every shot I take is a kill (most of the time I just suck at it, btw, or find out it was a team mate I just shot...doh.) But if you were sparing on your kills (most of those programs let you turn it on and off also) and were playing a class like sniper which is a high-kill to shot ratio anyways, it'd be hard to tell. Not that I would use one, but there must be some internal processes that check for programs hooking into the game program to help with aiming and such.Oh yah, heading in now to play for a little while before bed.

some good info recently about Bad Company 2 for those that are following along.
They're gonna release a limited edition (same price) that includes 6 special unlocks. Everyone can get them eventually, but you get them for free.
- 45 caliber pistol
- M1A1 machine gun (ww2 weapon, not sure what the point of this is)
- some sort of motion censor/HUD upgrade for tanks (sort of like a UAV for vehicles. it appears to let you see some enemies through walls)
- upgraded armor for tanks
- upgraded tanks weapons (some sort of heavy caliber secondary machine gun for the driver)
- tracer pistol for infantry. (attaches a homing device onto enemy vehicles that allows you to blind fire a rocket and still hit them.
Hopefully they limit ow many upgrades you can use at a time when you're in a tank. it would really suck if you are allowed to have all 3 at once.
Totalbf2.com has a promotional video demonstrating these items on the front page. graphics and effects still look awesome. I really hope they do some sort of pre-release beta.

just regular stores from what i read. My guess is most gamestops will accept a pre-order if you make it early enough. However, 4 months early might be too early (Woo hoo. only 4 months awaY!!!)Cant wait to take 2 days off after release and play thisWhere do the limited editions come from? For my bday in 2 weeks, I was just gonna tell someone to preorder this for me. I would like to get all I can.

i just cant see myself getting it. It looks too arcadey and will be overrun with the early teenage Xbox HALO crowd. I anticipate a whole lot of bunny hopping. I'm playing FIFA right now and should be getting Assasins Creed 2 and Uncharted 2 in the next few weeks. Combine this with a college hoops game (The new EA game if they fixed dynasty mode) and i should be good on games through March (or earlier if Bc2 has a Beta). Of course, i've still got bf2 and 1943 to fill my onlne shooter fix if needed.

Lead producer Gordon Van Dyke confimed that there will be no prone in Bc2 for any platform.
Some on the forum geeks are freaking out, but i'm not that broken up. Yeah, it hurts snipers, but it also eliminates belly flopping and speeds the game up.
The one that concerns me is that it will make it hard to find cover from vehicles. When every building is fully destroyable, us infantry guys will need all the help we can get.

What would be awesome is if they gave beta preference to players who had achieved a certain level in either BF2 or BF2142.I'm not saying it doesnt say january, but every interview with the devs says march. that would be alright with me. I was playing Wake today and was USMC. I was AT and hunkered into that bunker by the China radar, with full view of the jet. I think 3 times in a row, one of the jet whores jumped in a jet, only to die immediately at the hands of my rocket.
That was the best. The game was over once I ran out of ammo and had to run back to south base to rejoin my squad there.

my brother used to take the 50 caliber sniper rifle and fly a jet from teh airfield to the carrier. He'd hide on top of the carrier and shoot all the pilots when they jumped into the cockpit. they would try to kill him, but he just kept laying claymores and they eventually gave up. I could use a change of pace game.I just watched the video from totalbf2.com. I want to play it right now. I'm going to scare up my copy of BF2. It's here somewhere. I'm sure of it.

Hmm, I found all my old discs. Would I better off downloading the entire client somewhere than trying to patch up from the original install CDs?
