In all seriousness, the SVR can kill decently. I just went 16-9, its just I have to change my play style so much compared to any weapon in the game to make it effective. I basically have to ninja no scope people or hunt down the wookies.

Have you tried the Mac10? That little ******* is a nice weapon, as well.

Uh, I think a certain level 50 would have something to say about that Just spent a few minutes checking tomshardware and newegg to see what it would cost to re-build my PC for BF3. (it's been like 3 and a half years now, so I'm due).Lots of good stuff out right now for what seems like pretty reasonable prices.As always, motherboard choice is the toughest decision. I will definitely be overclocking this time around, but don't want to pay for a bunch of features I'd never use.Obviously won't be actually building this thing until right before Bf3 comes out, but i figured i'd start looking around.Would 16 GB of ram be excessive?

Cannot believe I forgot ya, but then again, you do diss SlaX and I when playing at night. 16GB of RAM sounds about right. I have 16 at home now and 12 at my office.

That's where I got it through, canceled my EB pre-sale purchase for Steam. I'm probably only playing 2-3 hours of BC2 a week, maybe the same on Lotro (trying out the new raid.) What've you been playing lately?

I really only played it for a week or so to get the gold stars for the 3 shot burst pistol and the semi auto sniper rifles.

Other than the lack of kill cam (which really isn't a kill cam anyway) I don't like any of the things HC brings to the table.

I would tend to agree. I tend to like the more traditional servers, simply because I like the mini-maps, spotting, etc. I do tend to prefer rush over conquest, but there are some good conquest maps, as well.

They have me amped up for it. I have gotten full swing back into BC2 like I was after its launch. I have gone from I will be picking it up a few months after release because I'm a Gears of War whore, to a now guaranteed day one purchase. That's some good marketing combined with a solid game(BC2) to go back to and remember how great the franchise is. I know its a different series, but this was my first BF game so its all I know.

Not a heavy Metal fan either. It's fun if you're in a chopper, but kinda sucks otherwise. The space between point B and the other points is just too much. It really isn't fun to use a tank on that map, and I really don't use tanks much anymore anyway (since i have the platinum star already)

My favorite 3 conquest maps are probably Panama Canal, Oasis and Laguna Alta.

3 favorite Rush are Laguna Presa, Valaparaiso and Arica Harbor.

You see, I loved Wake. Sure, you would get some rounds with jet whores that would make it more difficult, but for every one of those, there were 5 without, and regardless, a coordinated team could not be stopped by just the jets. There was a distinct challenge about Wake, and I have loved that map since BF1942, so it is just near and dear to the heart.

Does anyone here know why motion mines regenerate on the PC version but not on console? Or is that just a non-default custom setting on most BC2 servers? I hate only having 3 with the Recon kit on the 360 version.

It's possible that the PS3 and PC versions are different, but I'm positive that you can only have 1 motion mine out at a time on the PS3 version. As soon as you throw the second one out, the first one disappears for everyone.There are some levels that I love playing as a recon with a shotty+magnum ammo.

Yeah, you can only have one active on 360. And they don't regenerate. That class would be the ultimate rushing class if they did.
