We had 7 guys rolling in two parties and only lost once out of maybe 8-9 matches. There were times when we would have two tanks with gunners and repair men and just own everything. We also controlled the helicopter quite a bit. Vlade/McGavin are great pilots and we would rain death down below. I got through the first three sections of port valdez in a tank solo for the first half of the trip. Ended the match with 29 kills from it, tons of assists, spots, and repairs. All in all a great time while we gain tons of points. How was the sniping manback? I didn't see you a whole lot unless I just saw an enemies head pop off.

alright this game is pretty cool, haven't played MAG since picking it up

I think I am a level 5, started as medic up to the improved med kit, then went recon and I think I am on the GOL gun, not a big fan of the bolt-action sniper rifles, I think I will stick with the one before that had the silencer (forget the name).

Mortar strikes are $$$, does the opponent get a warning that they are coming, because occasionally I'll send one in on a Bradley after it has stopped then as soon as I complete the Mortar they move like 10 yards and then stop again. :P

psn ID Crazy_3y3s_ - I need to find an Engy + Assault guys to roll with

The heavy caliber bullets MIGHT be a game changer.

I got them at the very end of our session last night and immedietly went on a tear. This COULD be a bi-product of me unlocking the M60 at the same time, but i'm not sure.

From my experience, using the ceramic body armor didnt help a whole lot. But those heavy bullets sure did.

Gonna try it out tonight with some other weapons.

Its been frustrating losing lots of 1 v1 battles to guys that are level 20 or so and have clearly only been playing with 1 class (you can see they already have all the unlocks for that class and already have several gold stars from the end game weapon). With me spreading it out so much, i dont have the same handle on my favorite guns. I'll get there though. my K/D ratio is sitll hanging around 1.2 or so. I wish that they went back to the way it was in Bf2. It didn't count as a death until you actually re-spawned. Now you still get credit for a death even if you get revived.

Worst moment last night....I got in a chopper with someone else (i forget who) and both of us thought the other guy was flying it. We proceeded to fade backwards off the map and die. One of our teammates was NOT pleased.

Best moment.....getting TWO 10,000 point awards. (one for getting 10 silver stars, 1 for 5 gold stars). Made the trip through rank 14 go MUCH quicker.

How do you get everyone into the same room?

Figures. :thumbup:The one night I decide to get some sleep instead.

another thing i've been thinking about. It would be really nice if this game supported dual monitors in a way that allowed me to keep the game map and parts of the HUD on my 2nd screen while the game and integral parts of the HUD (mostly my ammo indicator) were kept on the main screen.

Obviously that would be a nice advantage, but they're already letting people have the super wide POV with the 3 screen set up, so why not?

MAG has been collecting dust for a long time. Gamestop's got 50% trade-in bonuses right now, so I'll most likely be trading it in for BC2.

Sounds like a great game.

Yes - do it. I picked it up last week (PS3) and think I like it better than MW2. Tried playing MW2 over the weekend and quickly got bored. I won't be playing BFBC2 for the next little while though because I lent it out to a friend (to try to sell them on it).

Am I remembering correctly that the 870 Combat shotgun takes the place of a primary weapon? If so, that sucks for Recon.

Also, can you use the tracer gun to assist with the mortar vs. tanks?

I don't think you can even compare MWII to BFBC2. One is an acrcade FPS the other you actually have to use strategy and teamwork big time. The game is a total blast and has a ton of replay value. I dabbled in the single player mode and that is a ton of fun as well and a great story.

That trailer with the guy smoking a cigarette in the beginning and then getting knifed is how I feel in this game. After killing someone I'm always looking over my shoulder for who it is that will be taking me out next. Sniping is very easy in this game compared to MW2 or MAG, blowing up a tank as a recon is pretty easy too assuming the tank stands still (mortar). You pretty much have to play in a squad or you have a long run back to the objective, spawning on a teammate is so  .

yeah, if you choose a shot gun, thats your primary.I may play around with it over the next few days just to get the shot gun pin. I used it for a bit in the beta, and its crazy up close. All the pins are pretty easy to get and there's a 5K point reward for earning them all once. What vehicle specilization is everyone using? I've unlocked them all and have been going with the upgraded weapons package (which gives me a machine gun as well as the cannon when i'm driving the tank). However, i'm not sure that its the best choice. The tank cannon reloads pretty fast and there's enough splash damage to take out infantry at a good clip. I think i may be better off going with the upgraded armor or shells to put enemy tanks down faster.the best thing about getting the rail gun is its good against choppers. However, alot of times, the choppers is too close to me to get a shot on it (you cant aim high enough to hit a chopper if it isnt really far away) which renders the rail gun useless. Its not like Bf2, where you had lots of city maps (like karkand or jallalabad) which made the rail gun very effective (those narrow streets were like a turkey shoot)

Disagree on sniping. I snipe a ton in MW2 and it's far easier in that game. Especially with respect to moving targets.

Since TLEF quoted me before I added my second question.
dont think the tracer has any effect on the mortars. The mortars are a dumb fire weapon. you pick an area and the bombs come down. I guess the tracer dart might help alert recon players to the location of a tank, but it doesnt affect whether the bombs hit it or not.The tracer darts dont seem to do a ton. I've shot rockets at tracer darted tanks, and i dont notice them being attracted to the dart or anything. when i fire a rocket from one of the first 2 launchers, they just go in a straight line :confused:you can sort of control the rocket from the 3rd launcher, but its not that much control. it doesnt turn fast enough to go around corners or hit a chopper from a tough angle. (unless i just suck with it)

:confused:The chopper pilot was baron. Baron: I'm in the chopper with you TlefTlef: Lets roll!A few seconds of silenceTlef: Hey! You're flying us backwards out of bounds!Baron: Am I the pilot?Tlef: YES! Oh $&@!Baron: I thought you were the pilot. Tlef: I realize that now, I jumped in the gunner seat cuz I can't fly.

i really should learn to at least keep a chopper in the air at some point.

edit: i got my chopper badge in Bf2 by going to a Gulf of Oman server that had 8 people in it and flying laps around the air craft carrier. i still crashed 2 times, but i stayed in the air for the required 10 minutes over the course of a ~60 minute round.

Booster

BTW, sniping guys while they're repairing a tank is fun and hilarious and tends to piss them off enough to get them to come looking for you after you do it to them a few times.

:lmao:

Basically free kills.

We had a four person group join a rush game. All seven of us were in a party on xbox live together. As soon as they got into the game two of us joined through in progress and the last person got put on the other team. As soon as one person left on our team we invited the last person to our 2nd squad and we had all seven on the same team in about five minutes.

I just got ceramic body armor and the magnum bullets, still feeling them out. I put the armor on my medic and the bullets on the other guys.

Tracers don't do a whole lot against tanks but I find them good vs a team that is destroying you with the choppers. If you tag them with it and then shoot a rpg at it while your cross hairs are on the choppers, the rpg will turn and follow the chopper if they try and evade it.Edit: Just played a game and it seems like the tracers did #### for homing compared to when the game first came out...They really need AA guns to balance some levels.

Finally picked it up today for the 360... very disappointed so far. Found myself yawning more than a few times. I'm sure I still have a bunch of nuances to pick up on, but not being able to see anything when zoomed in on the default Medic gun is truly pissing me off. And, if I never play that jungle map again it'll be too soon. Again, this is only about 30 minutes of play time but very 'meh' so far.

My thoughts so far too. It feels and looks very similar to MAG, which I was more than happy to trade-in.

Gotta hand it to them, looks like they finally got the connection problems fixed. I still have a few CTD's but those are rare. I have not had a connection problem in the couple of times I have tried today.

still having problems. the server browser is crazy buggy still.

Now if I could just add half of you to the friends list. I think I try every time I load it up.

anyone working towards any unlocks other than the M60 should just give up.

M-60 + golden bullets= god mode. Its like that 2 week period in Bf2 when they basically made the PKM a fully automatic sniper rifle with a 100 round clip.

Seriously. Just give up.

edit: in all honesty, i'm seriously considering using it for like 2 more days (just to get my k/d ratio up) and then never using it again. Its going to be nerfed in the first balance patch, so anyone that uses it exclusively is going to fall way behind skill-wise.

I am starting to get really good at driving the tanks while dodging mortars/rpgs and shooting enemies on foot and other vehicles.

Can someone give me a reason to play as the assault class? I use a medic a lot when attacking. I use an engineer to attack with or defend against armor. And I use recon quickly every once and a while to flush out enemy sniper nests. The only thing I can think of I am missing when I am not the assault class is the noob tube. The benefits of the other classes just seem to out weigh it by a mile.

So any med tips...? Frustrated so far :goodposting: . I really hate that i just can't *see* anything... but again, have to adjust...

:lmao: I get the purpose of the Medic class, and would like to start using it more. But with the Engineer class, you can assault and take objectives, blow up tanks, and repair vehicles. For every other circumstance I've found Recon is best for me.When I don't play as recon I play far too aggressively. I simply cannot help it if I have a shorter range gun, I feel neutered shooting people from afar, and I am too stubborn to not simply charge in the same doorway 6 times and get killed by the same guy 5, only to kill him the final try. With the Recon class, I have a sweeeet sniper, that allows me to highlight players to better track them to line up the perfect shot, or simply to help my team.I've got a mortar to drop on tanks that are making me irritated, and I've got a pistil if I need to do short range fighting. I've gotten pretty good with that thing.Assault is blah to me, no reason to use it really.

The first medic gun has horrible iron sights. The next guns are much better and the first one is also good once you get a red dot sight for it. Believe me, everyone #####es about that gun, but everyone has had to go through it to level the medic up.

Thanks, that definitely makes me feel a bit better. Just played another hour and it is certainly growing on me. I'm still a bit put off at the light/dark effects from going in to outside (I guess MW2 kinda spoiled me with that) - but the med kit is coming along, and just had a completely ridiculous round in the Helicopter with like 30 kills (gunner). May try to fly a few times... hopefully easier than in BF2 where I was a total joke. Definately looking forward to 'powering up' my guy... seems like newbs are definitely at a significant disadvantage, and I believe it was TLEF who said that a coordinated squad would OWN... yea, they absolutely would!

Rolled as an engineer last night...awesome. I agree with an earlier post....Engineer, Recon and Medic are the classes to focus on...Assault...not so much for my playing style.

in the right hands, the good assault rifles can be great. The noob tube is devastating on certain maps. Giving ammo can also give some nice points, but not as many as healing as a medic.

In terms of actual combat, assault >>>>>Medic until you get the m-60.

I unlocked the end tier recon gun last night, now I am working on unlocking all of the basic gadgets for the other classes, just have the repair tool left for the engineer. Then I'll probably level up my medic until I unlock the rest then the other two.

I started switching to assault when I realized there were none on my team, when your squad starts pwning it really helps to have an Assault with you for the ammo. Nothing worse then running out of ammo as a sniper.

btw for Recon: the VSS is bad ### (2nd to last weap to unlock), low on damage but insane rate of fire, helps when you are up close w/ it being fully automatic
