nah, we're just getting new game modes on the same maps.

Still nice, but i hope we get some actual NEW maps at some point this spring.

Something city heavy like Karkand or Jallalabad would be awesome, but i dont think that the engine could handle it with full destruction.

You know what I would love is a full city with no choppers and the only vehicles being the humvee variety. Would be awesome.I envision this game having a map similar to the scene in A Bridge Too Far, where the Brits are defending a rapidly devastated city by the oncoming German Panzer division. I could see a rush map where you keep getting pushed back into a city up to maybe being surrounded by water being epic.

I couldn't get on last night for my hour long window of gaming. It's a great game, but I may shelve it for a few weeks until they sort out this BS.

Friends lists were reset to 0 yesterday. I added all the people on the list that I could remember, a special thanks to Cooleyo for helping with that.
 
anyone know what the limited edition version for PS3 gets you?

description on Best Buy said you get unique weapons unlocked, but the thingy in my box said good for free maps in the future. Did they pull a bait and switch? I think I started off with the tracer dart gun enabled at level 0, was that all I got for paying extra $$$ for limited edition? :goodposting:

I believe you unlock the 'Dart' Gun, a few vehicle 'perks', and the M1911 pistol. Also I think you get the Garand, but I can't figure out for the life of me how to unlock it via Battlefield Veterans... (do you have to beat the SP campaign...???)
 
the PC limited edition was the same price as the regular one. i thought the same was true for the Ps3

The thompson gun was also part of that package.

you get the m1 by going to the BF veterans website. I have access to it, but some people are having problems. it has nothing to do with the SP campaign

I haven't gotten the M1 Garand yet either, although I'm showing Vet status of 1 in game (I can't get 2 of the games to show and I lost my BF1942/BF:V keys). It shows I have it when I look at Weapons and Gadgets from the main menu, but none of the classes have access to it on the battlefield.

$59.99 was what I paid at Best Buy, the same as other new games. :wub:The code wouldn't work for me the day I tried to put it in, but I read they were having problems and I haven't tried it since. I haven't had enough time for a multiplayer game yet, just 5 minutes here and there to do the single-player campaign. :hifive:

For those of you asking how to check your progress toward silver/gold stars. Hit up Weapons and Gadgets under the Multiplayer tab at the main menu. For each weapon, you can choose Details and at the bottom-right side of the window, it shows how many kills to next pin.

 
Does anyone know what I may be doing wrong that forming a squad just doesn't seem to work?

I go to "Play with Friends" and send the squad invite. It always says something about not being able to find a game.

The only way I've been able to form any sort of squad is to start playing a game and send invites from there. In order to avoid getting into an already full squad, I choose not to join a squad upon arrival. Problem is, if it's only 1 person I'm inviting, that leaves us with a 2-man squad. That's kind of annoying on a battlefield full of players, only being able to communicate with 1 person.

Is there anyway to form a squad before the game and allow it to fill up with randoms as the game goes on?

Go to play with friends. Create squad. Send invites to whoever, they will be in your squad when you join a game. While in a game and you don't have a full squad but you made it by sending invites, you can press start, go to squads, switch squad from private to public. Now people will join your squad.

Go to play with friends. Create squad. Send invites to whoever, they will be in your squad when you join a game. While in a game and you don't have a full squad but you made it by sending invites, you can press start, go to squads, switch squad from private to public. Now people will join your squad.

Hoping to play tonight. Who else is gonna be on? Wife has strep throat (got it yesterday) so with her going to bed a little earlier, I should have 3-4 hours in me, enough to get to level 11 or 12 I hope. I hope to be 10 by the time I leave work today. :goodposting:

Oddly enough I have a sore throat today as well, so I'll be playing.
 
might be on tonight. Taking a half day to get home and watch the ACC tournament.

If i have a bunch of beers (which is expected) i wont be leaving the house this evening. So yeah, i might get on and play horribly.

I've got 4 gold stars with the M60 now. I think that means that platinum star is next

edit: since i got the M60 with super bullets, my K/d ratio has jumped from 1.18 to 1.34 and still rising. I'm pretty sure that if that was the only weapon i used going forward, i could get over 2 and stay there.

Any FBG's interested in my "old" ATI 4850 512 MB? It is a HUGE upgrade over a 8800GT. Tom's has it as the far and away best video card for around $100.

They go for around $90-100 used on eBay right now, so would $70 be fair for a discount to a FBG? Let me know as I was gonna throw it up on eBay today. With my 5850 at home and a GTX 260 in my office, it would be stupid to throw this bad boy in an actual office computer.

It is still in perfect shape and is an actual ATI board, not a licensed one. Got it from Best Buy on release day. Heck, it is probably talked about in this thread. That or LOTRO.

My buddy might be, he needs a video card for his HTPC that can decode 1080p content. I've got a 4850 in my own PC and I know it does it pretty well. I'll ask him today and let you know.

Man, Rush is so frantic compared to Conquest. Don't like that mode as much. I find myself a little too hyped up after a round of Rush vs conquest. :sadbanana: I am trying to click and move around the screen far too fast right now. :goodposting:

I am a moron. It took me until Level 16, playing exclusively as a medic mind you, to realize that you could fire the M60 essentially as a semi-auto by tapping the trigger instead of holding it down. That thing is unbelievably accurate/lethal at long ranges when fired that way since there's none of the recoil that you would get if you were burst firing. Can't believe I just now figured that out.

yeah, its really not fair. No reason to burst fire unless you're really really close. tap tap tap and they hit the dust.

I haven't looked at the stats/stars much so far. Can you get multiple gold stars with one weapon or does it just progress gold->platinum?
 
I will be on in 90 minutes. My son wants to play some old school BF2 with his dad before bed.

 
haha, the server we were all on just kicked me twice. I was 16-4 and single handedly keeping their whole team from blowing up The MCOM station. Hell, i got the last 5 kills with my pistol.

I get kicked, come back and asked them why i got kicked and got kicked again. Unreal
