not really. I got all my Medic gold stars :lol:Just recon, a couple of pistols and all the awful shotguns to go (and mines).

I played a lot this weekend and made it to level 6. I think I like engineer the best, but still play assault class a lot because the weapons are better.The only major problem I think I am having with the game is that my "Next Item" key will not go back the the first item once it reaches the bottom (Ammo box).My mouse wheel works for going back the previous items, but I am not used to that. I know it sounds small but this has caused be to be killed many times.
 
I haven't played much more than 2 hours since I got the game 10 days ago. My wife and son are down to visit so most of my free time has been spend with them. They are heading back home on Thursday so my free time will be back and I'll start building up my online time.

 
okay...how in the hell do you pickup health kits?

I get injured and a teammate tosses me a health kit and all I can do is look at it.

Level 6 now and loving the engineer class. must be because I'm an engineer and I like blowing stuff up. after starting at a .25 k/d ratio I've finally reached 1.0 ratio.

You don't. Stand near a health kit and it will help you heal faster. Multiple health kits in an area helps better. You do heal on your own slowly over time, unless you're playing Hardcore.
 
They really need to get a patch out ASAP with much better anti aircraft mechanics. I joined 5 straight games in rush and conquest that my team was being dominated by very good pilots. There was a constant stream of tracers and multiple missiles flying at the chopper, its just they are to easy to dodge when the person is good at flying.

Edit, forgot to mention I hate the join in progress feature in any game. Wish there was an option to only join new games.

Hinds/Apaches are making this game from being close to perfection.Defending teams on Isla Innocente/Port Valdez gets that chopper and on advantageous choke points to boot. crazy imbalance imo...i used to hate Tanks but they are balance with Mines/AT4/C4s/UAV/Mortar...bad ### chopper? tracer darts? lol

Yep, a great tank team can be canceled out by 2-3 dedicated players making their life tough. A great chopper team can destroy everyone.

HTF do the tracer darts work? Do you actually have to hit the vehicle with the dart for it to work?
 
I had the game of my life a Isla, last night. I took out 3 straight Hinds w/ the tracer dart and the Gustav. Every time they dropped the out. and shot him w/ an Uzi. It's awesome when you take one of those things out

 
Played a little bit last night and am working on some key bindings using glove.

Like when I launch my rifle grenade it will switch back to the normal rifle automatically.

Yeah, if you are the first person to hit a vehicle with a tracer it'll pop up the +30 points for you and then everyone on your team using missiles with the lock-on ability will have an easier time hitting it.
 
Wow, I am horrible at this game. Sometimes I feel like I have a slingshot out there trying to compete against laser-guided (at my head) missles.

So what PC gamers will be on tonight?

Now that I have it all unlocked, I have decided that the game is not a whole ton of fun unless you are rolling in squads with friends. The carrot of the unlocks is gone. :thumbup:

 
Got the 5 stationary kills in a defense rush round and then got a 5k for all combat pins, then got a gold for tank same round. Almost 17k. Not bad.

 
do the people that do nothing other than fire the Carl Gustav or Grenade launcher really enjoy themselves? Do they think they're good at the game?

I can't imagine that being fun, but maybe its just me.

9 weapon gold stars to go.....

- VSS sniper rifle (dont like the auto snipers at all)

- SVU sniper rifle

- type 88 sniper rifle

-SV98 sniper rifle (hate the arrow sight, but it wont be terrible)

- M93R pistol (worst gun in the game easily)

- type 870 shotgun (this is actually a fun gun, but if you miss once, you're dead)

- Thompson machine gun (this one is gonna suck. Not a fan)

- Neostad 200 shot gun (the semi auto shot guns arent bad if you use slugs+magnum ammo combo)

- M1 garand (not possible to get yet since its bugged)

Then i'd still have to get the gold star for the mines and the attachable shot gun for the assault rifles

I've got all the vehicle gold stars except for air vehicle and mounted guns.

I've been playing recon this weekend, I despise the class. I only had the Type 88 unlock until yesterday, now I've got the GOL. It is more fun to snipe with the GOL I will say.I've been having a lot of CTD, anyone else?
 
Hey Corp, I saw you on Vent and could even hear you but you couldn't hear me for some reason. I could tell I was transmitting but for some reason it didn't go through. I had some problems with it last night but I thought I had it figured out. Not sure what the problem was. I tried both PTT and without but you still couldn't hear. Or maybe you did hear me singing and swearing and just chose to ignore it. :goodposting:

I have had a couple CTD myself. Thankfully, my super speedy system can have me back in the game in like 40 seconds.

Busted headset, I finally figured it out playing with Maelstrom. Mic was working, but not the speakers. Actually I could hear the game ok, but almost nothing out of Vent.

Gold stars on all of the recon class weapons :) Now I'm working on Gold stars for Engineer and Assault. I'm saving the Medic class for last as I think that one will be the easiest for me. The M93R pistol is awful. I had to shoot an enemy that was manning the UAV 3 times in the head before he would go down. :X
 
The more i think about it, the more i think the CG and the 40mm are getting out of hand. Its honestly at least 50% of my deaths now. Some of them literally dont even use the gun at all. I'm fairly mad about it at this point.

The worst is when you see a guy who's like level 10 with 8 gold stars for the 40 MM. I also saw a guy who was like level 19 last night and had a platinum star with the CG. He got me with it like 4 times on the night map. He just sat there staring at a path to one of the crates and would click the mouse whenever someone game into view.

due to my week of using shotguns/bad pistols my K/D ratio has dropped from like 1.46 to 1.42. NOT happy about it. Decided to put some time in with the M-416 to get back on track. I also stopped using the machine pistol when I'm sniping. It just made me too weak at close range, and i cant stand sitting on a hill 40 miles from the action and taking pot shots.

With the auto snipes, use a red dot sight and play it like it's a semi-automatic. I those are #### to actually snipe with.
 
Through hard work and dedication ( :confused: ) I have upped my K/D from 0.80 to 0.92 over the last week or so. I am not too concerned about that, but it would be nice to see at 1.00.

From the sound of it, the spamming of 40MM and CG are much worse on PC. On xbox its the occasional guy(me) that will rock the engineer. About 98% of the games both teams have way to many recons, a couple medics, and maybe an assault guy or two that main weapon is the m16 or an94.
 
Picked this up earlier. Played one game with Manback.

I hopped on a mounted gun and smoked at least 10-15 enemies before some guy walked up behind me and took me out. Looking forward to playing some with you guys in about 20 minutes.

 
I've actually found that I suck with the 40mm. I made a deliberate decision tonight that I was going to pick up the three combat pins that I hadn't gotten yet: the one for shotguns, the one for handguns, and the one for the GL. Each only requires four kills in one round. For the shotgun pin, I used whatever that automatic shotgun is, and I had no problem getting four relatively fast kills. Then I switched to the handgun and again got four kills easily with the M1911. The round was almost over (I joined late) so I decided to do the GL the next time. It took me three full bases worth of defense on Laguna Presa (rush) to get four kills with this, and I probably went something like 4-10 while trying. Obviously my GL skills require lots of work.

I still need the pins for doing 5 motion mine assists (would be easy if I just made up my mind to do it), the one for running over three guys in a round, the one for four kills with cars, both the flag attacker and flag defender pins (I hardly ever play Conquest) and the one for doing a squad attack and squad defend order in the same round. Not sure how to get that last one. I'll take a stab at those when I'm bored sometime.

Man this game is tough.

I'm sure it's been listed(184 pages deep)

Any solid pointers for a noob? I've been playing FPS since the first HALO days, but this game is a new animal.
