However, they DID allow paddles to charge when not in use and reloading while running, which will be welcome additions.

ive got no problem with people going prone at range. Im talking about people who come around a corner, see you, and belly flop down while holding the trigger. Ill admit that it requires skill and reflexes, but its so unrealistic. There should be a delay between going prone and being able to shoot, even if it just a second. It would make close quaters battle far more tactical.

I actually never even used the GL until about a week ago. on karkand in the alley right by the first cap point (if you're playing as USMC) I racked up about 14 kills in 3 shots with it. Can definately understand why ppl get pissed off though when spammed with it (I've played on way too many servers with Clan-Squads of 4+ 'Toobers).

I was getting peeved by the constant large area maps, with only Mastuur for city. Wish we coulda done Karkand. I should have stayed on longer. I grabbed about 300+ points to my next promotion last night.

I still check in with you guys here. I had been busy working but now that over. Im playing this game and Age of Empires 3 also so my time is split. After playing SF for a while, i became hooked. I have a group of friends that I play it with and the squad leader is good and I just rack up so many points as medic. I much more like the infantry wars over tanks mixed in. I usually only play SF when they are online though so feel free to jump in whenever you like. Just make sure to have a FBG tag so i can tell them not to kick you. We are also in the same team speak and its so much fun that way.

I do get more lag in SF though its livable. I cant playiron gator at all and I cant go into the palace on the one stage. Those are the only 2 lag spots for me. I hope they fix a leak or something in it. I only play cities maps on regular BF2 if I play that and that is usually with a different group of friends but on the same TS.

Theres a VERY easy way to get the IP for the teamspeak or BF2 server that someone is in. You just have to go to xfire and d/l it. My user name on there is silentone19 i think. From there you can go to the team speak server im in by clicking on my name and using the mini menu thing there.

Theres a new team speak IP that we changed to. The IP is wolfmon.wolfservers.com:8790. Theres no server password this time, someone just has to register or move you but now theres more SAs on so its easier to do. 2 of them are usually playing with me. Soon wolfservers is sponsoring a BF2 server also but I dont have all the details on that yet.

I think thats everything I wanted to say. Mad cow maybe you could put my TS IP in the first post again? I encourage everyone to come in. Oh, and maybe everyone can sign up for xfire and write those names on the front page first post too?

It would likely be my last AGP card and would need to last a few years(until i start pulling in a decent paycheck from a post college job ) Should i pull the trigger? I noticed it has a lower core clock speed than alot of the other cards. Is that a problem? I have no problems with my 9600 right now, but this looked like a very good deal.edit: if i do get this, should i pick up some kind of cooling help as well. Ive heard that using the stock cooler on higher level cards is a problem. Is this only an issue if i overclock?

also, id probably need a new Power supply too. Any recomendations. The one that came with my case has gotten the job done, but i dont want to risk it with a more powerful card.

That is a fantastic card for what you need it for. As for PSU, you will likely need at least 450-500W given NVidia's power-whore cards. ATI has mastered the art of getting cards to run on very little power. NVidia, not so much. Get as nice of a PSU as you can afford, though the Tiger Direct brand Ultra might do OK for you for a couple of years.

Base game is fine for now. The expansion is riddled with bugs as it is. We have mainly played only normal BF2 maps anyway. Just patch it up to 1.12 (1.2 to be released soon).

You cannot go wrong with BFG. I have their 7800 GT OC and am getting another one soon to go SLi in my new system.You should be OK without that cooling for the card. BFG has done a good job of cooling their cards. I have no problems with mine. Just add a fan or 2 to the case and call it good.

You cannot go wrong with BFG. I have their 7800 GT OC and am getting another one soon to go SLi in my new system.You should be OK without that cooling for the card. BFG has done a good job of cooling their cards. I have no problems with mine. Just add a fan or 2 to the case and call it good.

got 5 fans in there already (2 front, 2 back, 1 side) took out the top one since it rattled like hell all the timejust got kicked out of a game to make room for an admin. I was the leading scorer on our team, and the clan that owned the server was on the other team. Hmm, what a coincidence. I actually enjoyed wake island a little bit. Once you actually make it onto the island and arent getting slaughterd in those stupid boats, its pretty fun. i guess ill go back in and play some more. i was in line for a silver medal

still havent gotten a gold, and probably never will. I dont fly choppers or jets and im not that good with tanks. I dont get enough team points to beat the stat whores.

and o yeah, thanks for the advice on the cooling. i figured id get it since some of the customer reviews are complaining about the cooling fans, but ill give the stock cooling a shot.

You cannot go wrong with BFG. I have their 7800 GT OC and am getting another one soon to go SLi in my new system.You should be OK without that cooling for the card. BFG has done a good job of cooling their cards. I have no problems with mine. Just add a fan or 2 to the case and call it good.

got 5 fans in there already (2 front, 2 back, 1 side) took out the top one since it rattled like hell all the timejust got kicked out of a game to make room for an admin. I was the leading scorer on our team, and the clan that owned the server was on the other team. Hmm, what a coincidence. I actually enjoyed wake island a little bit. Once you actually make it onto the island and arent getting slaughterd in those stupid boats, its pretty fun. i guess ill go back in and play some more. i was in line for a silver medal

still havent gotten a gold, and probably never will. I dont fly choppers or jets and im not that good with tanks. I dont get enough team points to beat the stat whores.

and o yeah, thanks for the advice on the cooling. i figured id get it since some of the customer reviews are complaining about the cooling fans, but ill give the stock cooling a shot.

how have you gotten gold? chopper or tank whoring? medic? i just cant see how someone not doing this could beat everyone else, unless they were rambo out there. right now, my goal is to get back to a 1-1 kill to death ratio. Im about 200 away now. slowly but surely, im gonna get there

anyone with tips on anti tank kit ussage? played a game on gulf of oman tonight. spawned as anti tank in one of the command points on the water. tank rolled up and sat next to flag . I go prone and drill it in the side of the treads, reload do it again, reload do it again. finally, after shot number 3, the tank slowly turns and obliterates me. O well, back to c4 for me(took out a full tank and an APC with 2 c4packs tonight)

Medic once or twice. AT and Spec Ops a lot. Most of my scores are NOT kills via helicopter. I can't quite get the rockets just right yet. If I have a good gunner, though, he will always outscore me. Mainly medic, which I usually play, but I get a ton of kills as medic, too.

The key to killing a tank is hitting it in the treads - front are best, anywhere else next. 2 shots to front treads kills a tank.

IF you want to get a lot of points play as a medic. With the health packs and revive scores plus kills and base capping you can rack up some pretty good numbers.

So do I just need the base game or do I need the other releases as well?

Base game is fine for now. The expansion is riddled with bugs as it is. We have mainly played only normal BF2 maps anyway. Just patch it up to 1.12 (1.2 to be released soon).

I think I will pick it up this weekend.

Sounds good. Hope I don't end up working all weekend suddenly a client wants us to setup a new office and of course it is an emergency. Then again I will bill the hell out of them so it all balances out I guess.
