Still playing Karkand. Found a good driver/engineer combo. Driver knows how to stay hidden and then move out and fire. Keeps himselfs covered. I hopped into to one of the side ports and racked up a few kills and a nice sum of team points from the driver/gunners kills. I moved back and forth into the empty seats to keep our "six" clear. That's the kind of gameplay I enjoy.

Speaking of which. It's truly unfair how quickly you can enter/exit vehicles. Considering how invulnerable you are from a pursuing soldier when you get into the vehicle, getting in should present some exposure/risk.

In just my limited game play, I've died several times when my quarry "disappears" into a LAV and gets the gun around before I can find cover.

quick question. do you have to finish a round for a badge to count. I ask because i decided to dedicate today to getting my basic knife and pistol badges. I got the pistol badge on oman, but later in the round, my ping jumped to 250+ and i was kicked. The badge didnt show up in my awards immedietly, but maybe it will later. Anyone know?

I think in order for the badge to "stick" you need to finish the round.

I hope I'm wrong, keep checking your awards page and see if the badge shows up in a couple of days.

Actually, I would disagree. I think it will show. Just give it time. I have gotten awards from rounds I have been kicked.

This is the only game that I have that I will not use a CD crack on, because it will blacklist your CD key if it catches it, and it will fairly often.

I created a "clan" on bf2tracker called FBG Free For All. The password is something I think we could all "get behind": "ncstategirl"

I just wanted to see how the clan stuff worked on bf2tracker, if you join it (if you're nolt already in a clan there) so we can track our stats together.

The learning curve on this game is not as steep as I feared it would be. I've gotten much better.

Kark might be your best bet - the chaos is such that you might be able to slip behind a couple people and get a cheap kill or 2 with the knife. Play as USMC on a 64 player server and try to get into the alley before the 1st cap point - if you can get in behind some of their troops you can get a couple of kills usually without going down - but i'll give you its VERY tough, took me a while to get it.

Holy smokes, I got to that hallway as a MEC Engineer. That shotgun is crazy, I'd unload all 7 shots into a group of Marines coming through the fence, then run like crazy.About half the time I'd get a kill and make it to safety to reload. It was very fun. But eventually the Marines took control of that point and I had to go back to Assault.

You know what would be a good map to get the knife on? Wake - let me explain. Go spec ops, jump on a plane or hitch a ride to the carrier as the Chinese. USMS is not looking for baddies on the carrier, so I bet you could shoot off 3-4 kills before they were even on to you. Repeat a couple of times and you are gold. I would recommend that you do this on an Official EA server, since that is where you will find more n00bs and lesser skilled players. However, the tea bagging might be a giveaway, so you might want to refrain a bit.

The one thing i learned is there is no point trying to knife someone who is moving. Im not good at it, and they just run 2 steps and unload on me. I was on Oman, and got 3 or 4 kills coming behind guys that were laying down.

One thing ive also learned is that i ampretty damn good on that map, at least against infantry. My mid-longe range shooting skills are getting very good now, and its very rare that i lose a 1-1 infantry battle to anyone but good snipers. Guys were bunny hopping between the CP's on the ocean, and i was just picking them off left and right with Spec ops

If it werent for the choppers and jets i would have had like a 3 or 4 to 1 K/D ratio over the last few hours.

Normally i wouldnt care about the stupid knife badge, but with the new patch coming, i dont want to miss out on first sargent if the rank requirments change and i get bumped up without the knife badge.

See, I honestly don't care much about that. You get whatever rank you earn, so I am not gonna go out of my way to use a pistol or knife just so my rank can have a smilie on it or something.

Cool. My dad died when I was 15, so I never really got to hear much from him. He went through Paris a couple of years before Vietnam and at the time, received the highest marks ever recorded by a recruit. My mom kept a box of his stuff and there was a newspaper article about it. He has a lot of sharpshooting medals, as well.

Man, imagine how fun the air maps would be if there was an AA class with a Stinger or SA-18. The pilots have a huge advantage because they KNOW where the locks are coming from when they get locked up.

Similar to the anti-tank in Desert Combat from BF1942 having a Stinger. That would be cool. They should add that in one of these booster packs. I am looking forward to both boosters. I mean, at $10 a whack, that is no biggie.

BTW - Ordered the final piece to my gaming rig today - the 2nd 7800 GT for my SLI setup. I will be pVVning in no time now.

Yeah, I played awful when you showed up. Maybe I was trying to hard. I really enjoyed working with a good top gunner earlier. I was a tanker, communicating with the commander. Checking the coast is clear and then moving up the armor to support a river crossing. That was the kind of #### I live for.

I'm not interested in running around bunny hopping and dolphin diving and dropping c4 out of helicopters and ####.

Sure blame me! I was a medic just healing all the gung ho heroes who run head long into a firefight!They pinched us in to the back and we couldn't reclaim the river. Their team had a lot of dolphin divers.
