i dont have a problem with tank driving. I have a problem with people who do nothing but play in a tank, all day every day. They sit next to flags with their cross hairs on a spawn point and rape anyone who spawns there.

IMO, it requires very little to no skill and it skews the stats and rankings. Joe tank driver gets a 4-1 K/D ration by camping the alleys with an APC on karkand, while the serious groundpounder struggles to get 1-1 because of these alley rapers. I realize that tanks are an important part of the game, and if i see an open tank and none of my teammates around, ill jump in occasionally. I guess my problem is more with the scoring system, not the tank drivers themselves.

Scenario A- Guy jumps in APC on karkand, drivers down one of the side streets, parks in front of an alley and rapes 5 straight guys that spawn on that point. Guy does this for the entire round and goes 80-5(yes ive seen it happen)

Scenario B- Guy that was raped by that APC respawns as a Spec ops, sneaks around the back of the APC whore, plants two C4's on him and blows him to hell.

Who deserves more points? Who gets alot more points?

this is what my problem is. Its even worse with jets, because they basically have no threats on the battlefield besides other jets.

When i go to the Caln page I don't see how to join.When, when using Mozilla, I click on a user online server IP and try to join server I get a windows error that says "Bf2 is not a registered protocol". If I use IE I get a "page can not be displayed" with "bf2://72.36.185.20:16567/" (for example) in the address bar.

i got 6 right in a row to start the round. ran right for the metal fence right in front of the hill that the US team comes down from. Threw one by the hole, 2 guys come through, i blow it. repeat 2 more times and i was halfway to the badge.

You don't. It is from the server trying to keep fair teams. If you have people leaving at once, the next death will get switched to even them up.We had a major ######## on our team - EGF Tru Champ. He was TK'ing to get the chopper. He got bounced once at our protests, but he and his butt-buddy came back and continued the ########edness without getting bounced. It was about then that I got sick of his crap and left.

I don't think you can fix it. I think it probably has to do with server settings.

Man, I need some serious advice. It's going to take me a long time at my rate to get Sgt. So this unlock has to keep me happy for a month. I hold my own in long & mid-range shootouts. I think I've figured out the aim low method (where you either hit them with a bullet or it ricochets off the ground in front of them anyway). Close-in I can't hit anything.

I've attributed part of that to the stretching the game is doing to fix my 1440 * 900 Widescreen monitor. However, I need something that is going to make things easier fo rme close range.

I really like the medic kit, but I'm finding that I either have to concentrate on staying alive and fighting or trying to get medic points. I have almost no success trying to do both in the same life.

AT seems fun too since I play a lot on Karkand. But I always find myself in the middle of the street with no energy left to run when a pair of assault or spec ops guys come around the corner. DAO-12 won't help me there.

I just don't know what to do.

I guess if I want to unlock the Medic Level 2 unlock I have to start up SF?

Another way to get the badge is drive a mobile AA vehicle and use it to take out ground troops.

No, it counts. It will catch up, you just have to give it some time. If it counts in the BF2 stats, then you are good.

That was always the best with DC - grab the Vulcan and unleash in infantry = 150 kills in a round vs bots.

for those of you that want to see the number 1 ranked player in action, he plays on moongamers 24/7 karkand most of the time. He was on the totalbf2.com forums trying to say he doesnt play 9 hours a day, but it seems to be a bunch of crap. Some people did the math, and it would be virtually impossible to accumulate the kind of stats he has playing less than 9 hours per day

Nah, it really wasn't. No worries though, I took the G3. I am impressed. It seems to have plenty of takedown power. had my best score ever tonight. 50 on Karkand. That was with 2 TK punishes which were utter horsecrap. I mined behind a tank that was trying to flag cap. They jumped out, killed me, two guys on my team grabbed the tank backed up and BOOM! and they punished me.

I played with a clan last night on their TS server. It was quite a blast. They are clan which is aimed at older dudes like me. People who don't say L33t or P0wned in their every day vocabulary.

Anyway, I unfortunately, wasn't on their team, was always opposite them, but they were coordinating on TS and it was cool to listen to. They had their act together. They are not a big clan, but they have some decent players. What was the best though, was that one of them was Commander, so he could lightning quick relay UAV and Arty information to the guys. They were able to nail the flags very efficiently.

I might join their clan or at least play with them and try to get better.

They are called Modern Templars if anyone sees them it's +MT+.

The Red/blue issue is when maps are set to autobalance, you cahnge teams, but your color does not, so you appear as an enemy (in red) even though you are friendlt (in blue.)

the new sniper unlock is like the AWP from counterstrike, which was pretty much the standard cheap weapon from that game. Hopefully it is implemented better here. I will be interesting to see if i go up in rank and get 2 more unlocks

early reports have the jet pilots with 20-1 K/d ratios crying like little girls. Apparently the Anti-Aircraft can actually take down aircraft. What a concept!!

I could care less if these guys feel cheated. They have basically been gods up there for the past 8 months. Now its time for them to die a few times.

Others are saying that sniping may be overpowered now, which would be bad. We'll see when its offically released.

edit: guy from DICE is on the total Bf2 forums stating that the patch people are playing is not offical and that the patch has not been released yet. Pilots continue to flip out.

To all those pilots who enjoyed flying planes and getting a respectable amount of kills and doing what a jet pilot is supposed to do, I'm sorry. I ran in to quite a few people just like this, who were average pilots who enjoyed to fly. Unlike what the aviator antagonists might have you believe, the vast majority of pilots had a tough time getting anywhere near a 10:1 kill/death ratio, or recieving consecutive gold medals.

It's no shock to me though, I knew this day would come the second I saw the 1.2 patch notes, as it is the cumulative resulting kneejerked reaction of many months of whining from a select group of unskilled unadaptive whiny BF2 players complaining repeatedly.

I showed people and told people how to make ground based AA extremely effective versus pilots like me, some listened, but the whiners refused to adapt and persisted in their barrage of complaints. To those who refused to step in to an AA battery, I showed them how to ground a plane the entire game with a small preemptive assault on an enemy airfield. The whiners refused to acknowledge that planes were both limited in quantity, and in versatility.

I showed people with a video with well over 8000+ downloads how one single pilot with proper technique and skill could render the enemies air force next to worthless, but amazingly enough the whines still persisted. What more training and direction could these people require?

Now we've got 1.2 patch, where no matter how good you are if you've got a missile lock tone and no flares, you're pretty much toast. No more do players have to think, adapt, and use technique when trying to down skilled aircraft pilots. No longer do dogfights take skill and no longer can the rare uber pilots make the kind of impact that their training has rightfully awarded them. The average pilot has it even worse, as now they're sure to be much better off on the ground with the rest of the herd spamming grenades or insta-exploding C4 as they'll be far more effective.

The 1.2 patch is a mockery to this game, and especially to me, and to the pinnacle of aviation skill that I worked hard to achieve. Yes, it was me who got the planes nerfed, and for that I apologize to all the other pilots who enjoyed flying them as much as I did. It is a disgrace that the only fighter plane available to my team, which is a rare and valueable asset, and commanded by someone of my infinite skill level can be nullified by one brand new freshly installed private who happens to stumble in to an AA launcher by chance and point + click in my general direction.

Shame on you dice for being so ignorant, and shame on me for being so damn good.

So he wanted everyone else to adapt but now he's not willing to?I would have preferred they keep planes like they were but offer an AA Kit. As it is now, I can never get into an AA emplacement without getting nailed before I can get a lock. They drop flares on the first lock or 500lbers. Then I have to wait for a re-lock. I almost never get that second chance with a Helo. So long as they have flares, I don't see how anything changes.

Hopefully, guns will hurt more though. I pounded away on a Blackhawk last night with a HMMVW mounted .50 last night and still couldn't bring it down. In reality one lucky bullet can bring a helo down.

im totally for this. Its impossible for a ground pounder to see how much stregnth the planes had, because it was impossible to hit them. planes need to be strong, but pre-patch they were basically invulnerable

honestly, i hope they dont nerf the choppers HP's that badly. I almost never play in them, but there was something fun about avoiding the blackhawks and taking them out with a 50 cal. If they just fixed the AA and kept the choppers at their old HP, i would have been happy. It will be interesting to see just how badly they were nerfed. As long as it wasnt a huge decuction it will be ok. Blackhawks should be able so survive some fire, but several AT rockets or an extended bout with a 50 cal should bring them down

I have been the lucky one to see a helo smoking and fire my gun and kill it. Boo hoo for the ##### whining about planes.
