I am recovering from the flu right now - I would have been able to play the last 2 nights, but I have been down and out. I think my immune system is just low right now from all of the sex with Jessica Simpson and Alba thanks to my HPA headphones.

:hijacked: I said I am recovering.

So will anyone be on tonight, and if so, is anyone up for some BF2 perhaps? I have been loving me some Wake and Jalalabad lately. That sniper kit is some good fun the better you get. Nothing quite like sighting in on another sniper just as he notices you and taking him down.

my rise up the ranks continue as the badges roll in. picked up a bunch last night. im almost a Lt.
You're all going to outrank me soon. I'm going to start over with a new profile when I get Brigadier General.I almost started over accidentally a few days ago. I was checking to see what names were available for new profiles and was deleting profiles to do it. I accidentally clicked on and confirmed deletion of Gator_0811. By the time I realized what had happened, I panicked. I calmed a few minutes later and tried to re-create the profile and it did, and fortunately all of my stats were still retained. Thank goodness for batch processing. Chances are, they batch process deletes from their stats databases and I got back in before it processed.

at the wrong house, and my personal PC has a blown vid card, i think

Well I finally got my conquest commander badge bronze, 30 pts in a round. And then I got it again the next round. BFHQ has not updated, so hopefully I really do have it because it's not showing up yet.

Yeah, you'll get it and keep all 60 points. Good luck with the snoozefest that is earning the Silver.

I finally got my Golden Scimitar last night and I am 1,500 away from my promotion at 20,000 (don't laugh). I am at a point where I am far away from most of the next level of badges/medal at this point.

I still need basic Copter and Plane badges and I have no idea how I am ever going to get them.

I installed Special Forces today--talk about a whole another world.

Cool. Have you installed TeamSpeak on your system so you can join us? I would be fine jumping in BF2 anytime.

Laugh about what? Most of us are just a tab over 20K as it is. Corporation is the only Sgt Major of this group I think. He was almost 2nd Lt.

Yeah, It'll be awhile before I go after that.
Titan command is a slightly different story, I'll be glad to command any time there's a bunch of us on a Titan map. If I never command another conquest round It'll be too soon.

Seriously!Used the Recon invisibility unlock for the first time last night and I'm liking it. I turned the corner in one of the buildings and saw two enemies running my way... I ran right through them and they didn't even notice.Where ya been the last couple of days, GS?

Played a little more Rainbow 6:Vegas on my 360 last night. Very fun game, but man, your teammates are pretty good. You could probably go through a mission with them doing it all as long as you gave the correct orders.

It is not usually this way, BTW. There is some definite motion blur, and if your little red diamond comes up for the enemy (if you're spotted with the command rose (Q controls) or something), you can be toast. I killed a couple of guys last night that were using the invisibility. That being said, if you move slow and use cover, you can sneak through a lot of places. I don't like giving up my APMs or RDX (C4) to equip the invisibility tool.

I know what you mean... I've been able to use the invisibility unlock for a while, I just decided to try it out last night. I suppose I was just lucky enough that the enemy didn't notice me while they were running themselves. In maps where the walker or apc are not a factor, I sometimes sacrifice the C4 for the stabilizer.

Yeah, but you have to have the support NetBat unlock to see them with the diamond. Even then, it's hard to really get a good aim at them if they are moving fast with it. If someone in your squad has support then it makes it hard to get fooled by a cloaker.

I've been out of town for my last trip for quite a while. ETA: My last trip for awhile, I have not been gone for awhile.

Finally got the Gold Explosives Badge. It's amazing how that stuff works out. Tried for about a dozen or so rounds and got oh so close. Then I give up on it and I'm playing a titan round this morning. I get the explosives efficiency pin before the shields are even halfway down, so I figure, hmm, this might be the round. By the time our shields went down, I had the second pin and my first APM kill on our titan netted the badge. By the end of the round, I had 37 APM mine kills, and then another 30 from the lambert and RDX combined. So when it rains, it pours.

I think I mentioned this a few days ago:Northern Strike Booster Pack

Game DescriptionA few years into the most desperate struggle in the history of mankind, and with the conflict focused around the Mediterranean, the Pan Asian Coalition (PAC) seizes the chance to claim the undefended natural resources beneath the ice of mainland Europe. By the time the EU is aware of their presence, the enemy is firmly entrenched in the continent’s harsh ice fields, among abandoned city ruins and soaring mountain peaks. Only fierce close-quarters infantry battles along claustrophobic city streets and narrow rocky passes will eject the PAC forces from their well-defended positions and push them back towards the sea.Three new maps provide the setting for the Booster Pack. High up in the Alps the EU uses launch pods to assault a PAC Titan docking harbour in the map Port Bavaria. Bridge at Remagen, the scene for one of WWII’s major battles, is once again the setting for intense battles as both sides fight to secure the bridge. Finally, night has fallen when the EU launches their assault on the city in the Liberation of Leipzig.Battlefield 2142™: Northern Strike introduces two new vehicle types. The heavy IFV Goliath is a massive, slow-moving firing platform available to the EU. It is used to provide cover, as well as health and ammunition, to nearby infantry. The fast-moving hovering light IFV Hachimoto, available to the defending PAC only, is an efficient vehicle killer when staffed by a well coordinated pilot/gunner team. With ten new unlocks and ten new awards, Battlefield 2142™: Northern Strike offers unprecedented persistence for a Booster Pack. The epic Titan mode introduced in Battlefield 2142™ is available on two maps, and for the first time in an urban setting. All maps also feature Conquest mode with the Conquest Assault Lines set-up, in which the attacking army now has to conquer all control points before taking the enemy’s main base.Key Features * Fast–paced, infantry-focused gameplay boosts the intensity of the all-out war experience. * Three new maps set in Europe, where snow-covered post-apocalyptic cities and a ridge in the Alps become the new battlegrounds. * Two brand-new vehicles designed to support infantry combat available in an asymmetrical set-up, with the hovering light IFV Hachimoto available to the PAC and the massive heavy IFV Goliath available to the EU. * Increased persistence. Ten new rewards, one new pin and ten new unlock items at the top of the unlocks trees, available also on core game maps, take persistence to new levels. Unlock credits earned in the booster pack can also be used in the core game. * Epic Titan mode available on two maps, and for the first time in a urban setting, for more intense Titan gameplay. * Tweaked Conquest-assault gameplay (Assault Lines game mode) on all three maps creates more choke points and more heated battles. * Horizontal podding gives infantry additional ways of moving across the maps quickly
 Where do I sign up?

Brigadier General.
 I got very close to the Titan Attack Gold last night, I think 26 kills. You actually have an easier time IMO of getting it on a server with FF off so the defenders can't just nade spam.
Really? I would think camping the roof and vents of the enemy titan would make it easier. How did you get the 26 kills? anything special?
A few kills up on top, but mainly running down the corridors with nades and the assault rockets. It was also an even battle so the round was longer. I'd like to get that thing out of the way.

Cramer,Baron, I could hear you, I don't know why my game does that sometimes.....right after the titan blows up, my mike stops transmitting. I could hear you guys but could not transmit..

That's weird...Had to take a little break... I'll probably hop back on in a little while.

Got my Asus A8R32-MVP rocking today and already it seems more stable and faster than that DFI. Haven't starting to OC yet, but am sure I will hit 2.7 without breaking a sweat.

What the crap? This was like page 8. :excited:

Anyhoo, got a crapload of cool medals in a round last night, all within a span of about 2 minutes. Corp and I stormed their Titan right after shields fell and I dropped 3 consoles in a matter of maybe 2 minutes. No defense at all initially. Corp and I tossed a couple of nades, then I finished off the last one with the explosives to get #4 and the Problem Solver pin -thanks to Corp for helping there.

Maybe 1 minute later, for some reason unbeknownst to me, I got the Good Conduct medal (worth 500 pts :bag: ) followed by a promotion and the Titan attack and Survivor pins.

Good times.

I'm going to be painting one of the rooms starting tonight... and I'm also going to be installing chair rails afterwards, which I've never done before (any tips?), so my BF playing time will be limited significantly.

Thanks for the tip  I'm sure I'll be measuring several times before I decide to make any cuts. It seems pretty straight forward.. or at least that's how they make it look in the online tutorials. I figure it's worth a shot.

Pork and I had a good time last night. I introduced him to the joys of Titan gun shooting, so he likes Titan a bit more. I'm pretty far away from any more badges, so I was just playing for fun. Then Pork and I got up on the Titan and we were alone, we blew up all four consoles and then I got the core for the Gold Titan Destructor badge :goodposting:

Always seems to be the way, badges come to you easier when you just play in the flow. About a thousand away from Brig. General now, but there are no more badges that can come quickly (except for the hated Titan Attack Gold). Still 15 hours away from Gold in both the Engineer and Support kits.

 How the heck did you get up there so quick? I'm barely pushing 10K! Do you actually check to see what you need to get certain pins before you begin playing? I find myself just logging on and playing rather than check to see what I need (which is what I should be doing).

At least we've got a couple of guys in our clan that are way up there...

Yeah, I looked at which badges and ribbons were attainable and went after them. I've got a bunch of gold badges which are worth 1000 a piece, and the silver badges aren't too bad at 500 a piece. First ones to go after are the class specific badges (assault, support, engineer, and recon). Gold requires 50 hours played at each level. Then check your ribbons. It gives you a goal and focus, but more fun is had when you are just freestyle playing. I will note that I would have never played engineer if I wasn't forced to get a badge, and I actually like the kit now. Flying is also fun although I'm still not very good.

I have gone from one of the top the first couple weeks of this game to the bottom of the bunch.
