Are we going to do another year of the BF2 FFL, or did that die when the champ quit? IF we are, we better start the draft today if we expect to finish before the season starts.

Did someone page the Champ? Helllooooo I'm here!!! Seriously though, I am commish of a league that is just starting. We will be keeping 10 players and be on Fanball. The dues are $200 and while I know that that is expensive, our weekly prizes for top scorers pays out $80! So everyone has a good chance to make at least some of that back. PM if you are interested in joining as we are getting ready to schedule the draft. Yea, it will be an online draft as well..D.

I'm humbled by your confidence. I'll set us up the bomb. It will be on Yahoo unless we have major dissension.Do we want to continue the keeper league or set up new rules? One thing I've been wanting to do in a keeper league to mix it up is the following:All teams have 4 keepers. You can keep:One guy who was drafted (by you or someone else) in rounds one through fourOne guy who was drafted (by you or someone else) in rounds five through eightOne guy who was drafted (by you or someone else) in round nine or later, andOne guy who was picked up off the waiver wire (even if he was initially drafted).That way players couldn't be kept more than a year in a row, and it'll add a little flavor to the draft.Let me know what you guys think. I'll reserve us a Yahoo league and send you all PMs. Dave'll be back, he can't resist kicking us while he's down.

By the way, I finally get the BF2 fired up (got ahold of my FIL's copy) and get on some random server to get some practice in and after less than 5 minutes I get booted by Punkbuster... the reason had something to do with a "handshake" or something like that.

Oh well... I'll probably get on tomorrow (Friday) or Saturday night...

I'm still IN whichever way the league is run...By the way, I finally get the BF2 fired up (got ahold of my FIL's copy) and get on some random server to get some practice in and after less than 5 minutes I get booted by Punkbuster... the reason had something to do with a "handshake" or something like that. Oh well... I'll probably get on tomorrow (Friday) or Saturday night...

You may have to manually update Punkbuster. I had the same problem and it would boot me off of every server I tried. After I manually updated Punkbuster I was fine.

Cool.The city my wife grew up in has a rodeo every year that is on the PRCA circuit, so is a big deal I guess. I hate it but the in-laws have to go every year. The nice thing about it is seeing the rodeo queens riding in their tight jeans bouncing around on the saddles between events.

You may have to manually update Punkbuster. I had the same problem and it would boot me off of every server I tried. After I manually updated Punkbuster I was fine.

The only updating I did since sometime last year was the latest BF2/2142 patches. You're probably right.I'll give this a shot tonight.

I was going to watch it at IMAX, but I've seen other movied in IMAX and it was almost distracting (having to physically turn my head to see who entered from the side). I know 6 minutes of it was shot in IMAX and I bet that was really cool. Loved the movie and will probably try to catch it in IMAX later.

It was cool, visuals were amazing. That said, the theater I went to had to have had its audio out of whack. I know IMAX audio is a lot better due to speaker placement behind the screen, yada yada, but it was so loud a few times you could not understand what the crap they were saying. Out of calibration, I would say.

The TeamSpeak server is perplexing me. I have it on auto-pay with Paypal, and I have plenty of funds in the account. I all of a sudden got a cancellation notice due to not paying, when in the past I just got a payment notice from paypal. I go to their server to pay for it to renew and it says the server is offline.

Hmm, that's odd. I've been using the PtB TS server some, lot of kids on there though. Listened to one drama about how unfair his parents were and he was screaming at his dad. The other people were like "Man, parents suck". Made me feel all of my 35 years.

I played TF2 for awhile, but there weren't many of our guys out there. I'd be willing to do that some more if we could get more of us out there. I played mainly with Perry147 on the board, but there wasn't a lot of chit chat that we usually do on TS, which adds most of the fun to me.

The developers must really think we are stupid with the whole "Lots of players isnt what makes battlefield great". Uh, yeah it does. I couldnt imagine how bad Bf2 would be if there were only 4 or 5 footsoliders running around (even on the smallest maps) per team. (the rest will be in vehicles). Imagine how dumbed down the small arms shooting mechanics will be. Ugh.

Future battlefield games need to have at least 40 players or the franchise is doomed on the PC.

I'm about 99% sure the Frostbite engine just cant handle the player load. I wish they would just say it so i can get on with my life.

No, I have no problems and have that Tampa map installed. Not sure.

I still suck at it, FWIW. I was kinda getting the hang of it again, got some rounds in with more kills than deaths (sniper, of course). Infantry only, so no vehicles to contend with.
