So dumb. He has been home for over 6 hours and can't muster the energy or desire to change into his own clothes? Good grief.
Why don't you tell us about the last time you went through heroin withdrawal and how calm and collected you were.

I simply cannot take Junkie Depp's hobbled walk any longer.

That over exaggerated gimp step ruins every scene he's in...

Well, how long would it take to pack canned good and clothes and put them in the car. Probably a lot longer than they care to give it screen time. I guess if you are incapable of assuming a few minor things were already done without seeing them on camera, then I imagine you have multiple complaints about everything you have ever seen.
Guessing you never Followed the 24 threads.. I lost track of how many times there were of complaints of "Not once in 24 hours did Jack have to use the bathroom" ..

ETA .. What Shady said above me :)

He didn't seem to start going through withdrawal the moment he stepped into the house. He knew it was going to come on, sure. He was in a good mood when he heard they were going to play a game of monopoly. But I can buy a junkie not caring about what he is wearing. Maybe his mother would try to make him comfortable by getting him out of the baggy clothes he wore when he killed a guy. As mentioned above, they had already packed for their trip out of town. Surely changes of clothes were included in the planning.

But I don't know what heroin withdrawal feels like, so I'll punt to you. What's it like? Do you get giddy about playing board games during this withdrawal?

All good points, except the kid didn't live there anymore.

Yeah. That makes sense. I thought he might have had an old room there and stayed there sometimes like a kid that goes off to college but has a room to go home to when needed. If it's not the case for him, I retract my comments.

I would think the stepbrother might have some cloths at the house. They seem to be similar in size. That could work, but everyone seems to hate Junkie Depp, and Stepbrother just seems like an ##### so maybe he chose old dead guys cloths over dooshy Stepbrothers.

Huh? Stepbrother doesn't live in that house. Heck he isn't even a stepbrother as his father isn't even married to Junkie Depp's mother.

One of the shows main themes is "the breakdown of society". I would think showing people packing things for their survival would be more important than choosing to show who gets the car for a game of Monopoly. And I would think it would be more appealing to the viewer as well. Would have held my interest more I know that. Not a huge deal.

Still like the show, I just question some of the ideas in their writing.

I thought the Monopoly thing was strange, but after watching it again, look at mom's face- she knew what was going down and this was her last chance to keep everyone 'normal' and be reassuring to her kids..

Exactly, man some of the complaints in here border on lunacy. We heard the mom tell druggie depp not to tell his sister what was going on for fear of her freaking out. She was upset about her boyfriend, not sure she could handle knowing he was a zombie and ate his parents. She freaked when she realized it after they killed the neighbor in the living room. Mom was just trying to keep it together for a little bit, that was the point of that scene and IMHO, makes more sense to show than packing. We already saw scenes of the neighbors, the cop packing and even of zombie boyfriend's parents unpacking. I am good with a comment saying they were ready rather than another packing scene. Heck, in this thread we would have another two pages dissecting the stupid decisions with what they decided to pack.

Fear the Walking Dead- brought to you by Samsonite Luggage
LOL. Seriously, episode 4 will be diving into the freshness dynamics of ho-hos vs. twinkies. Which really last longer in desert conditions? Serrated or non-serrated. When in doubt, which kitchen cutlery is best to pack for clean kills? Also, 2 carry-ons or one large check-in suitcase, which is better when running from zombies?

I think it would have been cool seeing them pack. I mean, WE all know what we would pack for a zombie apocalypse, but they have no idea. Would have been fun/interesting seeing what they would have packed based on the little info they had about the epidemic. Would have let us know more about each character without them even talking.

I was hoping for a bit more urban (as opposed to suburban) setting when I heard the show was going to be in LA. I can't think of any reason the party would have for going downtown now unless forced by the military.

Why do people in LA, in this show, wear jeans, long sleeve shirts, and jackets? Isn't it perpetually 80 there?

Look at me! I've never been to LA!

You serious Clark?

You guys are unreal.
:goodposting: A show about packing with no talking and a thread analyzing each item packed sounds enjoyable.

Honestly, I wish in the episode of TWD where Rick first met Morgan that Rick went around the house a bit more to see what Lori packed for clues. He might have figured out that Lori went with Shane and was then going to have his baby. It might have saved us a bit of time working through that triangle and damnit Shane might still be alive. Why Rick? Why did you only notice the photo albums were gone thus sending you on an adventure to find Lori?

Morgan: She took the photo albums, so you're right...she left here alive.

Rick: I just can't figure out why she took our sex swing and the industrial size container of lube.

We're talking 2 women and a druggy having withdrawals. Could take days.

This one. The mother was trying to calm down the situation and bring a measure of normalcy to her family.

Not 30 minutes of it, no. But the same time they showed the whole Monopoly thing (a minute maybe)....absolutely. Show if they packed food, gear, weapons, etc....

Like I said, it would give the viewer a different look into each character by showing what they each packed.

Either way, as I said I am enjoying it, but I could see why others feel otherwise especially based on the shows premise.

That might work with small kids, but she's trying to calm down adult children? C'mon......

Exactly. There's a reason why there's a show called Doomsday Preppers. In fact you could write a bunch of tension into the scene...(why are you packing a curling iron? A closeup of items in the garage that they could use/need, etc. but they're leaving behind). I'd watch two minutes of that.

For real though, I want more Ruben Blades on this show. I hate that zombie shows feature groups that are some combination of pansy, whiney, or stupid. And if anyone shows even a hint of leadership they're portrayed as having some level of insanity. Meanwhile we have to "root" for the "HEY COME ON, you know how I feel about Guns!" dude. Blades has seen some crap go down in his life, and he's ready to do what it takes to help his family survive. So obviously somewhere down the road he'll have some epiphany that guns aren't the answer and we should try and just sit down and have a rational conversation with the zombies in order to solve this problem.

That's my biggest gripe about most hour long dramas on TV these days...

Not enough packing scenes.
Meanwhile, a couple of people in the other Walking Dead thread are complaining about the upcoming packing* scenes in this season. Which is it people? You can't satisfy everyone imo

*fudge

Wouldn't you complain that you had to watch them pack to bug out to the desert, but it didn't matter since the National Guard showed up and no one actually left?

Clothes and some food. What the hell else would they pack? They dont live at ####### walmart

LOL, you are 100% correct. That would likely be the first complaint. WTF did we spend so much time on packing and not go anywhere?

No worries, this is all just fun. That said ghostguy is right, that family sure doesn't look like they have much to pack. They don't even know how to really kill them. The only weapon is that shotgun, clothes and food (likely not a lot in that house). Better bet is to just leave and hit up a Walmart on the way.
