MAD's ROUND 2!! # 1's have been posted!! (3 Viewers)

That might have been my fault.

No, you saved the day.

From looking back at the old thread, it was not my finest hour. Rob Manfred would have been a better commissioner. I bailed on the original concept first because of the World Cup and again because I wasn't feeling it after the tournament. My next proposed alternative was a four round draft called Alpha:Omega  .
I read the first few pages and think I now have a bit of a contact buzz from my posts.
We all got that, duuuude.

Started a thread with my summer collaborative playlists idea for any who might be interested in that.

Is the official predraft thread for MAD round 4? I've got my artist list narrowed down to five. With a little effort I can trim it down to ten.

I have been working on a lot of playlists just because I've been loving digging through artists and albums. Most of who I have completed don't qualify for my self imposed limits of 1M listeners (or whatever Mastodon was at).

My selection is a band similar to Dino Jr. only in that it was a band I had only dabbled in before the last several years or so. This one is more extreme because I had only maybe listened to a full album 1 time and only knew their main couple hits from an album until about 9 months ago. Turns out they have 3-4 albums I think are near perfect and I think they might be the perfect 80s sound I've been looking for. 🎧

ETA: NOT metal.

To answer one of the other threads in the FFA - this morning this is what put a smile on my face and made me happy. I guess I have been slacking on my YouTube drumming videos, and Brann put out a couple newer ones I stumbled across.

HERE For anybody mildly interested or who liked Steambreather from the playlist mist like this 10min video. He walks through a breakdown of song for the first few minutes and then he plays the song. Outstanding.

There is another 1hour video that is more of an interview on the Drumeo channel, here. Of course I loved it, but it was interesting because in between the talk of his process, his influences, etc.. he plays I think 5 songs, but a few that were on the playlist: The Wolf is Loose, The Last Baron, and The Motherload.

:tebow:

black midi are breaking up
@Juxtatarot

Yes, I saw that. Their subreddit has been exploding. They had a great three album run.

Geordie Greep is expected to announce the release of his debut solo album on Tuesday.

I just got a notification from Spotify that the Seldom Scene were going to be performing with TEN YEARS AFTER.
Isn't everyone from Ten Years After dead?

ETA: just looked it up - the keyboardist and drummer are still around. The main guys Alvin Lee and Leo Lyons have long passed.

No idea, but if the 'Scene can carry on with a completely new lineup because all the OGs are dead, I don't see why other bands can't as well. Plus, it's the name that matters, like The Dread Pirate Roberts.

True - plus it's easy to change Ten Years After to Sixty Years After.
