I think it would have been cool seeing them pack. I mean, WE all know what we would pack for a zombie apocalypse, but they have no idea. Would have been fun/interesting seeing what they would have packed based on the little info they had about the epidemic. Would have let us know more about each character without them even talking.
Clothes and some food. What the hell else would they pack? They dont live at ####### walmart
She said they wanted to go out to the desert where no one is. They would need more than just clothes and food. I would assume they would know too, since they knew where they were going. Fuel, batteries, camping stuff, Monopoly board. You know. The essentials.

Worst episode of Breaking Bad?

"The Fly" where nothing happens?

or

The one where Badger and Skinny Pete buy the big roadie cases but we don't get to see anybody pack anything in them?

You realize there are places on the way from the LA suburbs to the desert, correct? That family doesn't have crapola in that house in terms of survival stuff.

Eh. I'm in the "I like the show" camp, but thought the Monopoly scene was pretty forced. OK, we get it, you're "trying to be normal".

How about 2 minutes of hottie daughter trying to look up news on her iPhone or laptop?

They could have done a dozen other things that would have fit better (packing, of course, being one of them) :)

Just my $.02.

Maybe they were packing up the Monopoly game and decided to give it one more go before it was buried with all of the other stuff

So what's the play now by the National Guard? Do they go corden off the neighborhood and do a jumpy house by jumpy house search? Do they take the doper's family and acquaintances and put them in an internment camp until they can be checked (for bites, cuts, etc) and profiled?

Maybe we'll find out next episode.

Next episode is all SueSue's husband speaking Korean with subtitles.

Your bad writing is ruining the thread. Each time it limps in here
Damn dude...there's 18 pages of people bashing this show. I've made a total of two complaints in three weeks and you come after me with a shotgun full of birdshot?

Is Junkie Depp related or something?

If not...might want to go Tyreese with a hammer on some of the more prevalent posters in this thread. Your efforts are wasted here...

This is just terrible writing.

That's my biggest gripe about most hour long dramas on TV these days...

Not enough packing scenes.
Meanwhile, a couple of people in the other Walking Dead thread are complaining about the upcoming packing* scenes in this season. Which is it people? You can't satisfy everyone imo

*fudge
Well you have a fundamental disagreement about what people want in the show. There are the action people and the drama people.

If you went to see Pearl Harbor wanting a action movie and sat through an hour of terrible Ben Affleck romance horror you are ticked. If you went to Last of the Mohicans for the dramatic love scenes all the scalpings might annoy you.

they seem pretty intent on raping and murdering

And if you don't like shows about zombies because they are unrealistic, don't watch shows about zombies and complain about any and every little thing other than ZOMBIES.

Or whatever it is you kids think you are doing in here (not you specifically, jsut felt like quoting this)

There's a deleted scene on the internet where the mother is shown packing. They purposefully focus on her packing all of the junkie son's shirts into a suitcase. They are then loaded into the truck, where they are not easily accessible.

Roads? Where we're going we don't NEED roads.

Or shirts...........or lawnmowers...........or new shirts...........or our own shoes.............or our old shirts.............or gas.........or a power source..............or toilets..................

Shirts

When all goes to heck they are going to have to mortgage the electric company and water works.............................................

these doin anything for ya?

We should hang out more

Do you think they brought the old moon boots from the garage? I bet moon boots would come in handy. I've never seen a zombie who could jump.

What fun is waiting. Need some quality speculation here.

What gauge we talking here? 18?

Thought this was the best episode yet. Some problems are looming: father doesnt like guns, kid is a junkie, daughter is clueless. Only one that gets it is mom.
The only one who gets it is junkie Depp. Mom thinks she's protecting her daughter by not telling her what's going on.

and what's with Ruben Blades being so prepped for this psychologically? I guess we'll get his back-story (MS-13, leftist guerilla, whatever).
I think he just doesn't trust the government during a crisis based on whatever happened to his family back in El Salvador or whatever.

Okay, I am liking (not loving) it so far, but my complaint is the mom, junkie and the hot daughter are directed to go to the house and wait so the teacher can get his son and ex and then they are going to bug out to the desert and escape what is coming. Now I was excited they were being forward thinking about getting out of dodge, but how does mom respond, she plays Monopoly with the kids.

Let's put aside Zombies. They have already identified they are leaving--why the heck are you are not packing? Your neighbors are packing. Why are you not packing? No, lets play a board game. I get the "let's play the denial game," but you just killed a guy.
Yeah, I don't understand her actions at all. She understands what's going on more than anyone. She's putting her daughter at risk by not telling her what's going on.

I really hate Chris (Travis's son). He's about 1,000 worse than Walt Jr.
We need to be able to vote people off. He is 1st to go easily.
 I'll take the Boyfriend/ ex-husband at #1

"Put the gun away"

"Don't shoot my friend"

"You know how I feel about guns"

"Don't kill her, we might be able to save her".

:wall:
Dad is basically Herschel.
or Dale.

She is also the only one who knows that sinply dying turns you into a walker. Since she witnesses an overdose with Mrs. Chan.
I didn't pick up on this.
Me either
She notices the pill bottle kind of tipped over on the table when she went back to get the shotgun shells. It freaked her out, but I wasn't exactly sure why. I don't know if they were implying an overdose with that scene.

When they notice whiny BF pulling up in the driveway, why did they go back through the ******** garden maze? Why not just run out the front door where his car is and warn him?

Yeah, my first thought on the pills was that Junkie Depp swiped them on the sly. Why is Suesue OD'ing?

Right. It's not like her daughter is 6 years old. She's basically an adult.
