lets see.. Some where on the ocean. .. suppose to be searching for a safe zone but she decides this is a perfect time to start a relationship :wall:

Other then the sweet motored Zombie this has been one big  fest...

Rick woke up on day 59.  FTWD ended the season on day 16.  Looks like they are fitting your timeline pretty well.
Rick woke up to a zombie infested planet with nothing running properly.

FTWD ended episode 6 the same way.

The number of days in between wouldn't be anywhere near as relevant as what is actually happening in the shows.  That's the point.  FTWD is basically already where TWD started.  Hence, dumb.

So captain will fall asleep, someone will turn the boat to save new boyfriend, but they will be infected and they will lose the Yacht. . Seems about right... No ?

Wouldn't you ration your meals since you have no idea when you'll find food again?  But no.. a full blown thanksgiving feast.

:lmao:  at the dude swimming fully clothed and meeting a zombie
I guess the writers decided.. screw it were going full out FU... Lets stop for a swim.. oh look zombie swimming along looking for a meal and stumbles upon the lone stupid swimmer in the entire Ocean.

This is sounding like must see TV.  Seriously.  Idiots jumping in the water for a swim?  Eating all the food in a feast?  Entertainment baby.  I will watch when I get home.  You guys talked me into it

:tfp:   I mean I know they are from California but these people are taking stupid to new never before seen heights.

Horrible writing.

I tapped out of TWD last season and am out of this one as well.

The meetings they have when they write these episodes must be something like this:

#1
we need a new cool zombie kill for the week.

#2
we need a crazy escape

#3
we need a ninja zombie to jump out at someone

#4
Who is in charge of distant zombie shots showing zombie hordes?

#5
someone figure out some character development and plot lines

#6
who are we showcasing on Talking Dead?

#7
Is lunch here yet?

No jack was obviously trying to fish for location of the yacht. The family is full of dumb people, the daughter being the dumbest.

It sucks because theoretically at least this was their Mullgan to redo the story line after how badly they screwed up an awesome premise for TWD.  But, nope.  Writing is even worse than the original.

So the drug addicted punk swam over to the GIANT upside down canoe. Anyone catch that? it was huge and when he went under water and came up inside it, it was just a shell. It was full of holes yet it magically floated.

Black guy seems to be the only smart one, but then again he's not making any real attempt to keep the others in line and he's heading for San Diego, like that would be any better.

Yea...I think I'm just gonna delete this one from my recording list.

I just can't double down on the stupid writing of these shows.

I'm hoping I can hang in with TWD for the full ride but it seriously is starting to lose me as well.

Unbelievable...since this is one of my favorite genre's.

All I saw was an eel and some scotch
Yeah, that's what I saw not exactly a waste. The rest of the show was pretty bad but I'll keep watching. At least it was the teenage daughter being stupid and manipulated. While we all knew what Jack was fishing for, I find it believable that she of all of them would do that.

They do a lot of dumb things, but I think eating a lot of food is not dumb.  Didn't the rich guy say they could go 3 months on that ship or something like that?  I'm not sure the potential scarcity of food would be something that many of us would think about in that situation.  I think that's more of a bias from the walking dead.  At this point I think most of us would still probably assume that civilization would still be standing.  Probably why rich guy wants to go to San Diego, maybe they handled it better than LA.  I mean a few days ago in the timeline these guys were living in a protected neighborhood and life was still somewhat close to normal.

so when did the black guy prepare his boat for this apocalypse ? he was in jail when we first met him...i mean i guess he could have only been there a short time but nobody really saw this coming and it all went down pretty fast...maybe it was explained last season?

It wasn't a whole lot of food. It was your basic sides stuff that they would be eating anyways. And even for those sides, it wasn't a lot for everyone.  There's a good bit of people to feed. The biggest part of the meal was what looked to take the whole table up. It was the eel the old guy caught.  I think that whole thing is a non-issue.  Oh, the show itself sucked. To have that as a season premiere was a horrible decision for by the writers. I will stick around for a few more episodes, but it better pick up. Not one good character, other than maybe the main lady wife.

Well, they've got 16 episodes this summer.  At least they filmed the daytime scenes on the boat actually on the water.  The scene where they left the beach they were on the deck looking back and there was no wind.  Everyone's hair perfectly still.  I've never been on a beach where there was zero breeze.

You think the show is bad... don't tune into the Talking Dead after snore-fest.  I don't like the regular TTD from the other show but my wife likes it so I watch.  This one is even crappier than the other.

I wanted it to be good. It wasn't. I'm gonna hold on for the ride though.
I think part of the problem is that the viewers are all immersed in TWD world, so we know the whole world's gone to ####.  These guys are still pretty new to the whole zombie apocalypse so they haven't yet come to grips with what needs to be done to survive.  All except the captain, he seems to have his #### together.  I have no clue why he brought those other jackholes along.  I'd have grabbed me a couple of hunnies, hit the yacht, and party like it's the end of the world.

Same here. I was so psyched when TWD started, although I was hoping for a World War Z series done right. I deleted FTWD season pass right after TWD finale and I'm not sure I'll get through TWD next season. Very disappointed.

:goodposting:

I almost liked this show more than TWD because it was better written, or so it seemed.

This season opener was a step down.
Had to look it up...

of the two writers credited for writing this episode one of them wrote/writes for TWD the other one wrote for (drumroll)

Sons of Anarchy.   FTWD is doomed.

I get what your're saying and agree they missed an opportunity to show more of what happened in those 6 days, from viewpoints other than our little group like the government etc.  But, I don't see how you take those six days and turn it into 3 or 4 seasons worth of content.  Unless they took on a different story from a different group each season; that would be pretty cool actually.

The fact is in this universe the outbreak happened and spread really quickly and the writers have stated over and over that they aren't ever going to explain the how or what of it.

Yep, Hozier was awful. I think he had fleas. He kept scratching his neck and face.

I wonder if Hardwick wants to be honest and ask "could you guys have screwed this show up any worse??"

it was comically bad writing.

so first thing you do on the boat is want to save 50 people.   dumb

2nd thing, get a radio with no instructions and just start up a friendly convo with someone you don't know and have no idea their motives.  dumb

Kid hits dad!  smart, good drama.   Kid jumps into water for a swim with all his clothes on, dumb

Boat captain lists his rules:   i own the boat, i own the boat, i saved you and I own the boat.   Funny, but dumb.   Hows about a quick "think about this as though we are in enemy territory and we want to move about unnoticed, unseen, unheard and act accordingly.   Assume all living people are potential threats to the safety of this vessel and act accordingly.  My plan is to take us here>>>>> so between now and then, don't do anything stupid, lay low and keep your eyes and ears open.

literally, within hours of finding safety the crew has found mutliple ways to #### it all up.
