**** official February shark pool "what I want my team to do" mock draft ****. Round 4 starts on page 16 (1 Viewer)

1.08   CHI  Minkah Fitzpatrick, DB, bama

2.07 CHI Cortland Sutton, WR, SMU

4.05 CHI Marcell Ateman, WR Ok St.

4.115 Desmond Harrison, OT West Georgia

A bit of a project but with potential...

Strengths

Rare combination of physical and athletic traits. Carries long arms and a frame that is ready for more weight. Has tremendous flexibility and twitch. Moves like a small forward in basketball. No reach block or backside cutoff is too hard for him from an athletic standpoint. Looks to snatch up opponents' frame with strong hands and hold them close. Tape is filled with nasty block finishes that occasionally leave the frame. Has foot quickness to handle edge speed. Able to respond to mistakes with plus reactive athleticism. Uses rapid redirect to slam door on inside moves. Can lead the charge on pull blocks and screens and adjusts to targets in space. Dominated competition across from him this year.

Weaknesses

Has a checkered background that will need to be vetted. Signed with University of Texas in 2013 out of JUCO but played in just seven games (no starts) before being dismissed in the offseason for multiple team violations. Played first football this season since his dismissal. Extremely raw. Gets out of stance a step slow. Has limited experience against quality competition. Defaults to unnecessary waist-bending. Needs to add much more muscle and core strength. Could be pulled and knocked off-balance by savvy opponents. Footwork can be a mess in pass sets. Hand placement and punch timing are inconsistent. Instincts are below average and struggles to process twists quickly.

Draft Projection

Rounds 3-4

Sources Tell Us

"You can see how athletic he is and all that, but he didn't play anyone and he's got some character issues that you better be sure on before you just draft the athlete. No doubt about his talent though." -- NFC team director of scouting

Bottom Line

Boom-or-bust prospect who has elite length and athletic ability but is missing the consistency and resume of future NFL starter. Harrison's West Georgia tape is filled with jaw-dropping plays but he was overwhelming inferior competition and doing it without much technique. Harrison looked light on tape and his Senior Bowl weigh-in at 279 is sure to scare teams about his ability to carry enough mass on his frame. He has alluring athletic traits but he has to prove he can keep his weight up.

Bankerguy hasn't been here since February 20th. So I'll give it a swing.

4.116 - Dallas - Christian Sam, LB ASU

Tackling machine that just seems like the typical, mid-round linebacker that everyone wishes they'd selected because he's a solid contributor from the word go.

Cowboys LB corps is thinner than...things that are thin.

Another guy I almost took here. Seems we're all using the same cheat sheet.

Rd 4 Detroit Lions: DE Jalyn Holmes from Ohio State

I don't know too much about him, but he's big and long which should provide versatility on the D-Line which has been a priority of this draft.

Sorry, bud, if he's there at 4.118 he's gonna be a Raven.

Because why settle for just one Joe Flacco when you could have two?
They might not win another Super Bowl with the duo, but think of all the ad dollars they could generate by throwing 70-yard bombs to each other in regional car commercials!

4.118 - Baltimore selects Mike White, QB, Western Kentucky

I don't know much about him but Baltimore has got to find a way to move on from Flacco- he's an anchor.

1.16 Calvin Ridley, WR, Al-a-BAMA
2.52 Hayden Hurst, TE, South Carolina
3.80 Jamarco Jones, OT, Ohio State
4.114 Mike White, QB, W. Kentucky

Over the past three years the Ravens have finished 20th, 21st, and 24th in FO's offensive efficiency. Doing the same thing again and again and expecting different results is the definition of insanity ... it's time for a reboot.

Ridley enters camp as the true do-it-all #1 WR the Ravens have been searching for all century, a combo of Torrey Smith's deep speed and Quan Boldin's route-running. Hurst gives Flacco a much-needed option across the middle with a big catch radius and impeccable hands. Jones adds size, plus athleticism, big-program experience, and a mean streak that could make him a fan favorite in Baltimore.

Finally, White has a chance to sit for a season or two behind as close to an archetype of his as has ever existed in the NFL. He's a work in progress to be sure; but with some work in reading blitzes and working progressions he could become Flacco's heir apparent sooner rather than later.

There might be some early growing pains as all the new pieces mesh, but these selections can be foundation pieces for a Ravens offense in '19 and beyond that could finally become ... dare I say it? ... exciting.

After Baltimore was supposed to be Chargers (per 1st post).  Only know because Seattle is after that, and we've had a looooong wait.

Orlando Brown draft stock is falling like a rock.  14 reps on the bench press, 5.85 40 and 19.5 vertical.  Also called out for loafing during the drills.  Bad combination..................

4.115 Los Angeles Chargers select Kalen Ballage, RB, ASU

At 6'1" 228lbs Ballage ran 4.46 in Indy and also performed well in the Senior Bowl leading the North squad with 10 carries for 57 yards. Very good receiving and return skills. Can be a bit slow to the hole but is a handful in open space. Will help a Melvin Gordon stay fresh and is big enough to become an effective pass blocker.

Best NFL comp might be a better version of Latavius Murray.

4.116 Seattle Seahawks select EDGE Kemeko Turay, Rutgers

Another defensive need met.  Hopefully through his injury woes that has dropped his stock the last couple years.  Looked good at the Senior Bowl.

1.02        BUF (from NYG)     Josh Rosen, QB, UCLA

2.53 Buffalo* DE/OLB Ogbonnia Okoronkwo - Oklahoma

3.97 Bills - Dante Pettis, WR Wash

4.117 bills - Nyheim Hines, RB NC St

We'll go ahead and give the Bills the fastest RB at the combine. More than speed, hines is improving as a receiver, should back up McCoy fairly well and perhaps eventually take over although he might be undersized for the lead role.

While I'm here I'll go ahead and draft for the Chiefs.

Previous picks: 2nd Donte Jackson CB LSU, 3rd Josey Jewell ILB Iowa, 3rd Auden Tate, WR, FSU

4.118 Chad Thomas, DE Miami

Boom or bust prospect with the right athletic ability but will need to be coached up.

With Thomas on board, the chiefs have addressed needs at each level in the defense, as they revamp their esteemed D.

@JetMaxx (or @Andy Dufresne) OTC for the browns

I'll assume the pick is traded to KC, unless someone corrects me.

Adjusting the picks for the 3rd round comp picks....

Pick 4.24 (#124 overall)

Kansas City "Chefs"

M.J. Stewart, CB, Maryland

Titans picks so far:

1st Isaiah Wynn, G/C/OT, Georgia

2nd Dorance Armstrong, DE/OLB, Kansas

3rd Duke Dawson, CB, Florida

4th  Derrick Nnadi, DT, Florida State

Strongest man in college football?

"It's hard to find "bad tape" for Nnadi. While NFL teams may see an undersized 4-3 nose tackle with limited pass rush value, I see a player with good power at the point of attack who can dislodge from single blocks and make plays. Nnadi has a good motor, active hands and enough pass rush ability to cause problems for blockers up front. Nnadi has the physical tools to play in one or two-gap schemes and has NFL starting ability." Lance Zierlein, NFL.com

Fan rag also has him going to Tennessee, but in the 2nd

Round 2, Pick 57: Derrick Nnadi, DT, Florida State

Nnadi may not be a sexy pick, but he’s a powerful run stuffer who is immovable at the point of attack and incredibly technical in his ability to defend gaps. He’s the perfect fit next to Jurrell Casey and should immediately buoy the Titans run defense as an upgrade over Sylvester Williams.

4.122 - Atlanta - DJ Chark, WR LSU

They'll lose Gabriel to FA and could use more at the position anyway.

His Combine showing will have him much higher than this.

I don't know anything about him but I did note that the Vikings met with him at the combine.

After seeing his combine results and realizing what a reach it was, the bengals wish they didn’t take

simmie Cobbs wr indiana

:yucky: Not what I was hoping to see.

4.124-SF 49ers

Josh Sweat, Edge, Florida State

Going with raw ability here.  Rangy and fast.  Played well in a limited sample size against the run as well.

4.127 - Philadelphia - Alex Cappa, OT/OG Humboldt State

4.128 - Philadelphia - Marquis Haynes, LB/DE Ole Miss

1.14 Orland Brown OT Oklahoma

2.45 Equanimeous St. Brown WR ND

3.76 Nick Nelson CB Wisconsin

4.114 Oren Burks ILB Vandy

4.133 Troy Apke S PSU

I know nothing about him except that he is 200 lbs and runs a 4.34. That seems worthwhile in the late 4th. He likely won't be here this late now that we've seen the numbers.

@Mr. Irrelevant I will trade you Orlando Brown. I just feel bad for sniping him earlier. Nothing to do with him being as large as a mountain but slightly less athletic ;)
